My old Vrs245 on 99 octane fuel was 249bhp standard and 302bhp stage 1 map and torque was 400nm standard (Skoda claim only 370nm) and 467nm afterwards. Stage 1 is the sweet spot for this engine as peak power is produced at 5,000rpm with the smaller IS20 turbo. Peak torque is found at 2,600rpm so if you go for stage 2 and over 500nm of torque the handling gets a bit unruly and scary trying to deploy the power unlike my current car the Superb 272 with the bigger Golf R IS38 turbo it not only copes with 514nm of torque but could handle even more due to the grip from the 4WD. One of my all time favourite Skoda colours Rallye Green so much so my silver brake calipers (brakes are identical on Superb 272 to the Octy 245) are now painted in Rallye Green. As others have said enjoy your new motor and try not to spend too much on it otherwise you might regret it like I did.

AA Patrol guy that came to our house tested both batteries from both key fobs and pronounced both fine so issue was clearly with the fobs. He removed the plastic trim on the driver's side door handle and used the key to open the door and hey presto the car alarm went off. After holding one of the key fobs next to the stop/start button for what seemed like 5 minutes and simultaneously pressing the button the car eventually started and as it was early Saturday afternoon he advised us to take the car while the engine was running to the supplying dealer for them to investigate. He found 4 fault codes on his lap top and I took a photo with my phone to show the dealer. The dealer kept the car for 2 days.

Same here John my 2019 Sportline came with Blind Spot Assist and didn't realise the brakes apply automatically as I found out when I nearly reversed into a table and 2 chairs outside our Hotel room (no reverse camera on my pauper spec 272). Really took me by surprise how abrupt it was although I was moving backwards quite slowly. Saved me some rear bumper repair bill.

LeClerc DNF on lap 41 pretty boring race as usual at Barcelona with easy win for Lewis and a record 156th podium finish for him overtaking Schumacher long standing record. Max the closest rival again. Bottas with a free 3rd stop bags the extra point for fastest lap and 3rd place. Rude not to mention Racing Point finally bring home some good points for 4th and 5th converting their good qualifying pace at last.

Back in Jan 2015 when I bought my Rallye Green Vrs TDi the wife nicknamed it Kermit so I bought her a Rapid Sport SE with the Pano Roof in Kermit Green in April 2015. We had a lot of Green in the drive for a couple of months.

Not if the letters were in Rallye Green and edged in Gold for a classy look.

Family I know who moved from Milton Keynes to Leicester in 2007 have just spent a week in Scotland (not sure where they went haven't spoken to them since they returned) on my recommendation. Our recent trip to the Lake District and Gretna (retail therapy at Gateway shopping centre) cost just £59.93 of Tesco's finest for the 507 mile break.

I had an Airtec cone air filter which replaced the OEM airbox/air filter on my 336bhp Octavia Vrs245 and it sounded great and the best (fitted cost) £300 I spent on the car.

George you seem to be on a promotional Tour of Scotland. I hope the Scottish Tourist Board are paying for the electric if not free accommodation. Should have mentioned earlier the Corsa looks sharp in that Silver colour.

Well my best friend bought a Mercedes demo in 2017 which was £40,000 new but she only paid £28,500 so a good saving. A year later it was traded in for a Volvo XC60 because the seats gave her back pain and as we all know Volvo have been designing and building comfortable seats for decades and these are just instances of real people I have known for more than 20 years leaving a Prestige maker such as Mercedes for a rival in Volvo despite the Swedish maker only offering 2.0 litre 4 cylinder engines.

Agree will keep my Superb 272 with standard exhaust because after spending around £1,800 on my Vrs245 to improve the sound the best noise came from the Airtec cone air filter with the sucking whooshes which even my wife liked and she is hard to please......sometimes.

When I bought the car last December I paid an extra £58 IIRC over my stage 2 Octavia Vrs245 until early May 2020 when I shopped around and got a cracking deal with LV which appreciate my age (55), clean licence and 15 years NCB so I now pay less for the 360bhp Superb than I did in May 2019 with the Octavia. I believe the Vrs is also Group 31 INSURANCE (out of 50 groups) whereas the Superb is in group 29. Finally I live in an area with little crime despite 2 people owning BMW M4 Coupes nearby. Also my wife's Karoq insurance went down with LV due to a multi-car policy as we have only a couple of days between our policies. Skoda Insurance wanted twice as much at £530 but then they have always been expensive.

Torrential rain this morning on my commute cross country route today as roadworks (no advanced notice) caused me an extra 14 miles making 41 miles to get to work yesterday and took 52 minutes rather than the usual 37 minutes. Lots of standing water and deep puddles yet the 4WD Superb brushed them away with no drama unlike a rear wheel drive BMW which would have been nerve racking (exciting) in these conditions. Despite lengthy roadworks at each end of the journey the car still managed 39.7mpg which matches the since refuelling figure over 504 miles so far with 95 miles left in the tank (current range 599 miles better than any EV currently on sale me thinks).

One of my best friends bought a new Mercedes a few years ago for £36,000. Four years later when it was being serviced by the Merc dealer in Leicester with 40,000 miles on the clock the saleman that sold him the car tried to get him to buy a new model and he was offered £12,000 as a trade in and decided after losing £24,000 in 4 years to buy a Volvo. He still has the Volvo so it must be better than a Mercedes.

Agree the 1.4TSi 150PS engine in my 2016 was better than the 1.5TSi 150PS engine in the wife's Karoq. I tried to offload it last October and she made me buy it back just to annoy me even more.
