Are you sure you are not climbing up a hill/incline because this can sometimes trigger the DSG to change down rather than up to ensure the engine is not laboured in too high a gear at too low revs? Fortunately my remapped petrol Superb has 514nm (standard is 350nm at 4,500rpm) at just 2,600rpm so my car will go uphill in 7th gear from just 1,200rpm much to my surprise/delight.

18" Clear the calipers (THE DISCS ARE NOT THE ISSUE) just fine as my winters were 7.5J x 18" with 225/40R18 TYRES.

I generally make my complaint to the Air Steward/ess to ask the occupant to be more considerate as they pin their seat to my knees.

I'm guilty of that to with the seat on it's lowest setting available for the sporty bum on the tarmac feel but you must struggle on long haul flights if like me you always get the short person in front who immediately reclines their seat shortly after take off much to my pleasure (not).

Currently running the wife's Karoq at 2.7 bar with 8J x 19" Skoda wheels and Bridgestone S001 235/40R19 tyres. Lower profile equals higher required pressures.

I'm only 6 feet tall and a lithe 14 stone 10lbs but I think the issue is more the height of the seat as I find (at 55 years old) it much easier to climb in and out of my wife's Karoq than my Superb due to the much lower seat in the Superb. Big doors are not as important IMHO.

Are you talking about the shopping hooks in the boot? If so they simply twist round to the correct position. A photo would help what you are referring to so we can help further. Welcome to Briskoda BTW.

The fact that you stated it had 3 tyres the same make and 1 odd one suggests it may have had a hard impact on a kerb or something else resulting in a badly damaged alloy which was replaced with a new one and a different make of tyre which was probably a cheaper one as well. Other suspension damage can be caused by such severe loads going through one corner as @ColinD has already mentioned. If they can't identify and rectify to your satisfaction I would reject the car and make sure your next purchase has a rigorous and extensive highway test before purchase. Good luck.

Unless others on here have a similar issue with the 190PS diesel engine with DSG and 4wd combination it is difficult to identify the problem.

Having watched the video with the vibrating sun visor that is something you expect to see in a convertible Audi A3 with the roof down driving on a bumpy road not a smooth Spanish highway. This suggests a not very rigid chassis like when you remove the top off a shoe box and the bottom half becomes floppy.

This is just a hunch but your 4 year old diesel Superb has a suspiciously low mileage and I suspect it has suffered a major accident and been badly repaired by a non Skoda dealer and this has led to a chassis that is not as stiff as it should be and as the speed increases on the motorway the vibration increases being felt throughout the cabin including the seats. It would not be this bad if it was just some missing wheel weights on the alloys or a defect in a tyre for example.

Patience yes and a wife on longer trips who is not averse to grab the steering wheel or even punching me on my left arm if she feels I'm trying to have too much fun. Fortunately she was not in the car yesterday morning when a White Ford Mustang with full length blue stripes was trying to impress me with his V8 engine sound but I simply drove round the outside of him on a roundabout showing him his Coupe didn't handle as well as my 5 seater limo.

Sure you will enjoy the Superb as I have owned the 140PS front wheel drive Mk2 in 2009, 2012 and 2014 facelift versions and since buying 2 Mk3 Superbs I rate them so highly. If you have the Amundsen radio, standard on the SEL just press the large left hand power button on the radio, no need to press the KESSY stop/start ignition button. Radio should stay on for 30 minutes before power saving mode switches it off. At least the DRL will not come on.

It is possible to get 678.9 miles from a single tank @Roscio but would need to drive to Italy in one hit to achieve that. Current mileage is 12,430 and the Superb is about to have a rest for one week as I use the Karoq for my 3 night shifts plus our tour of the Peak District later in the week. Solid 42mpg on today's commute and on target for 600 miles on this current tank.

Just taken the 18" Braga's off the wife's SEL after 26,000 miles replaced with my Superb Sportline 19" Vega's. Ran the 18" tyres at 2.5 bar all the time with even wear across the tread and was still 3mm left. Good econonmy averaging 45mpg with a best of 66.0mpg (1.5TSi manual).

Well the guinea pig for this engine/gearbox is probably @themanwithnoaim who bought his car new when they came out in August 2017 like me and I had no issues with a manual gearbox over 29,000 miles averaging just over 40mpg but Tony probably drives his Black Magic harder than I did I will let him explain. He also has adaptive dampers (DCC) on his car and over 300bhp like my old car.

They double as cornering lights to illuminate the pavement in built areas and work when the steering is turned either right or left and go out when the steering is in the straight ahead position. Been told many times by neighbours that one of my fog lights is not working because they don't understand they are actually cornering lights.

When I owned my Vrs245 weighed the 19" Xtreme plus the 225/35 tyre (Pirelli) they came with at work on digital electronic scales and they are 22.5kg each. The 18" aftermarket alloys and 225/40 tyres I used in the winter weighed 21.9kg for comparison.
