Guilty as charged, the rambles down memory lane in the bus garage or a 60 year detailed curriculum vitae do make me skip paragraphs in the hope of finding something of relevance.

No I can't. They are and fuel burning on the ground having run in the direction of the floor fall is exactly what it looks like, the colour of the flames also although I dont see black smoke, I am guessing that the side walls are open like many multi-story car parks or they have a désenfumage system.

Maybe it was transporting EV batteries......................................... And gas cylinders, and jerrycans of petrol, and signal flares, and kindling, and wire wool..............😀

2017 Skoda Kodiaq Coolant leak through wiring harness to ECU
Yes I can see that is plausible, I stand corrected, has it ever been reported to have made its way up to the ECU connector? Is there another sub loom connector before that?

You should ask for an aluminium rather than polystyrene tray. You really wont do yourself any good eating takeaways on a regular basis especially those containing flammable liquids.

Rattle when accelerating
Faulty knock sensor if doing what Sep suggests does make a difference. They are highly reliable and even with one not working or disconnected the mapping is so accurate these days that it is unlikely that an engine would ever pink like one in the bad old days, the engines are mapped to run just on the safe side of detonation and ignition is retarded and/or fuelling enrichd on the individual cylinder as soon as one detonation knock is sensed.

Lots of people have been taking you for a ride, ask them where you can buy some gravity defying coolant to replace the stuff that leaked out and climbed its way up the wiring loom to the ECU tucked away at the highest part of the scuttle.

'Electric Car Insurance prices are soaring', according to the BBC News today, an other media and sources, internet / social media.
I read that as your insurance went up 100% so you looked elsewhere and the cheapest you could find was 30% more than your premium for the previous year, is that correct? If so the really are getting quite brazen now aren't they!

Android head unit - straight swap option for Bolero gone wrong...Help!!
I dont see any "evidence" to back up that assertion, you are chasing demons that are not there, if the radio is not powered up then the Canbus Gateway controller will not be able to communicate with it and create the fault code. Even when it does power up and work you will still get that fault code and another related one, the joy of having a Chinese head unit! The unit uses can data like the speed signal, steering angle, loads of stuff really to adjust or mute the volume, show trajectory lines on the reversing camera, show door open warnings etc but it does not communicate with the Can Gateway which we should thank our lucky stars about 😀

Yeti 4x4 clutch issues
TPS one for the Yeti with my 8% discount was around £108 IIRC but I needed it urgently, subsequent (dont ask! 😒) pattern part ones were about €13 inc delivery from Ebay.fr.

Yeti 4x4 clutch issues
Agreed but mine was very manky so I dont regret replacing it, autopsy revealed it to be functioning fine but it had some metallic paste type debris stuck all round the magnet for the position sensor, no idea where it came from but it was not wholesome!

ULEZ and other similar schemes we are being told are all about clean air for everybody but are they really just a means of making money from motorists?
I said that I hadn't paid for parking, not strictly true, that does not mean it wasn't requested of me in the UK, since getting French plates in 2005 I avoided anywhere with barriers and chose pay and display (not) or meter parking. Same deal for speed cameras and the Dartford river crossing although I wish I could have used it more.

Does anyone have the wiring diagram for an Octavia Mk1 Fuel Flap release please?
Fed via the Comfort Control Module or possibly the drivers door controller? I'm not sure if the MK1 had that level of sophistication, mine was so faultless to the end that I never got involved, the MK2 definitely had a Comfort Control Module. Just a thought, if the power comes from the central locking and ergo via the drivers door controller could this be a manifestation of a semi fractured wire in the door loop? That was what scrapped my MK1 but had I known about it instead of trying to measure can bus voltages and diagnose without VCDS I could have saved the vehicle, when my doors were not opening I do recall the fuel filler cap also playing up, in fact it might have been one of the first warnings.

ULEZ and other similar schemes we are being told are all about clean air for everybody but are they really just a means of making money from motorists?
My local authority does not get any money out of me, I've paid from €100 to €200 to register my vehicles which I keep for well over a decade, no road tax so the Carte Grise cost is spread over as many years as you keep the vehicle, no other taxes whatsoever. I have paid for car parking once in the last 25 years that I can recall, an evening in the centre of Lille, had I had more time I could have parked for free but there was a rugby or football match on and the city centre was rammed. My tipping trailer, the only legal one of the fleet cost €13 to register. Car insurance is creeping up and is now around €180, double what I was once paying. Taxe d'Habitation and Redevance Audiovisuelle (TV license) have been scrapped, I pay €640 per year property taxes for the house and land (1150m2), the hôtel in Picardie with 6 furnished appartements, garage, car park, laundry, workshop, cellar etc has only just crept over the €1000 in property taxes. The most expensive thing amongst the property charges is rubbish collection because (they claim) of the taxes on landfill but I get pretty unlimited access to the recycling centre with a magnetic card, I can tip whole trailer loads directly into the various containers, Skips and skip hire do not really exist in this country as we can pretty much dispose of everything legally and without charge, nearly every household has a trailer. I have never paid a centime in income tax as my earningss are deemed to be too low thanks to the over generous Meublée de Tourisme fiscale régime that assumes my operating costs are 71% when they are far far lower, no accountants or accounts needed just a turnover declaration. €25000 in government aid during Covid. Free healthcare and a free state operated Mutuelle (top up insurance) although I have been mucked around at renewal this year and have had no Mutuelle for 5 months while I try to get the foncs to do their job. Nominally I have to pay 30% towards medical bills but anything urgent is covered at 100%. I probably dont appreciate these things as much as I should because when I lived in the UK it was pretty much the same, I have seen all these things change for the worst over the years, the ULEZ being the worst and you just know that it is the thin end of the wedge. Give a local authority the power to raise money and they will rip the ar5e out of it.

Weather cooler in the last week? Dont wait for the really cold weather, you aint seen nothing yet!!!!

Yeti 4x4 clutch issues
100% yes and it will become more and more frequent. You might want to split the work in having the much cheaper job of the master cylinder done first and see how it goes, I dont hold out a lot of hope but you would have it done as a wise precaution when changing the slave cylinder anyway and it is a completely seperate job so should not cost anymore doing them both seperately, maybe an extra hour for the booking and and getting on/off the ramp. You will probably see some initial improvement after replacing the master cylinder, the feel may be different as any air will have been bled out but if its the slave cylinder then it will find its way back in. You could also ask them to replace the clutch bleed block AKA peak torque limiter at the same time as the master cylinder then you will have replaced 2 of the 3 possible culprits without the expense of the gearbox out job and no doubt a clutch & DMF at the same time, 2 of the 3 but not the favorite.

Failed 4 wheel alignment query
You dont need super state of the art equipment, you need someone that understands suspension design, vehicle dynamics and what influences the various angles, that person could do a better job than anyone with all the gear but no idea simply using string, a plumb line, straight edges, spirit levels, tape measure etc. They will of course have invested in proper equipment to make their life easier, the job quicker and to look professional but they have no actual need of it to perform the task.

Sat nav and other features dropped ?
“We're trying to explore functions on demand and give customers the chance to order the features online,” its head of sales and marketing, Martin Jahn, told Autocar at the launch of the Kodiaq in Berlin last week. TranslateCynic gives "we are going to rip off our customers" If you could download air over the internet they would deliver the vehicles with flat tyres. 😒
