  1. I've been wondering the same for a while now. Hope all is well.
  2. It's not so much the price of the parts, but the labour involved. I've thrown about £3k at mine so far and it's still not working correctly. Signs to look out for are slow slippery shifting ( as though you're riding the clutch on a manual eg revs rise during shifts) particularly when warmed up, any noticeable thump between gear shifting ( it should be almost imperceptible ). Any of the above walk away, do not pass go, do not collect £200.
  3. Avoid the DSG7 unless it is 100% perfect. It should seemless, if not walk away immediatly. A few DSG oil changes would also be of benefit even though they are not scheduled.
  4. The online MOT history could give you a good indication of the true mileage. There maybe one year that stands out about 30k less than the norm.
  5. What a great site. One for the favorites bar I think. Thanks
  6. Wow, that's a very definitive list of options. I believe MikeTheThinker's Pegasus wheel rim is this : 7J 17" 54mm offset whereas my existing Zeus is 7J x 17"ET 40mm offset. Is the offset difference likely to cause problems with interference ( panels, brakes )? I'll be putting 215/55/17 Michelins on them, only 14mm seems a lot.
  7. DAMN IT!!! The 2016 106Tdi has 5x112 PCD. Thanks for the offer though, extremely generous.
  8. Carpets or mats? I've just bought a set of 4 good mats from CarMats.co.uk. I think they were about £40
  9. Thanks for the reply. If it will fit a Superb then that would do. I've been looking for a steel rim thinking it'll be cheaper than the Helios ( I think ) alloys that currently fill all four corners. Situation is that I had a F/O/S blow-out on Friday and fitted the steel spare on a 16" rim. TPMS not happy as all others are 17", so maybe time to get a 17" rim instead and fit the still-good 17" F/N/S Michelin for use as a spare on a new rim. I prefer to change both tyres on an axle rather than just one to allow for wear. Apart from the blown out tyre there's about 40k miles left on all the remaining others. What kind of price are you looking for.?
  10. Hi guys, As the title suggests I'm looking for a reasonably priced 17" steel rim for my 2016 1.6 TDI Superb. My current spare is only 16" which plays havoc with the TPMS. South East UK preferred but I can get it couriered if necessary. Thanks.
  11. The OP means the starter ignition button, not stop/start button.
  12. Presume you're pressing the mode button to change the programme. Your dash display should indicate which mode you're in. It defaults to D if the button doesn't work. Likely a trip to Skoda to get it fixed. Mine took two visits before it got sorted
  13. I bought mine from Lidl in France years ago and I've lived to tell the tale. They were/are TUV rated.
  14. I've read that it is the front nearside ABS sensor ( RHD vehicle ) which feeds vehicle speed information to the DSG, with all other sensors being housed within the mechatronic unit itself. Can anyone confirm that this is correct?
  15. I went through two sets of Dunlops Sportmaxx and they both did exactly that. Cracked along the longitudinal tread grooves. I've moved onto Michelin cross climate 2s now and they are far better. Much quieter too.
  16. Did your mechanic follow the correct procedure to bleed the air out of the system? You need a VCDS or similar to do this. It opens and shuts various valves in sequence during the refilling process to purge the air. When I had my water pump & cambelt changed by an indy they didn't do it properly and it took a couple of weeks of daily top-ups before the system finally stabilised.
  17. You need a vcds or similar to code. Most garages should have one if you don't. Shouldn't cost much to get it done. 5 minute job.
  18. Maybe a dumb suggestion but when the battery is changed you are supposed to turn the steering to full lock on both sides to clear fault lights ( with engine running ) although I would have thought that they would have cleared on there own by now just by driving it. Worth a shot.
  19. You've certainly racked-up some miles over the last 3 years!
  20. My AQS has never worked but the A/C works just fine.
  21. +1. A diesel is not optimised for this kind of usage. A petrol would have been a more sensible choice.
  22. The adaptation is a doddle with the right kit. A 5 minute job which most indys could do for little money. A main dealer would likely charge considerably more though.
