Tracking & alignment
Yes had the same problem. New shocks seem to have fixed it. I don't believe the rear alignment can be adjusted.

Wheel Balancing - Is it always necessary?
I didn't bother pursuing this. The wheels didn't need balancing so I left it. I just won't use this tyre place again.

Coolant and pressure problem
Sounds like this might be a head gasket problem. Is there any white sludge under the oil filler cap? With the engine running and the oil filler cap removed can you detect air puffing out in time with the engine? With the engine warmed up & running and the expansion bottle cap removed, is the coolant bubbling/burping air?

Coolant and pressure problem
More information needed to begin a diagnosis, eg : Is it a new purchase or have you had the car a long time. Has there been any work carried out recently, cam belt replacement, water pump etc? Signs of leakage in/around the engine bay or underneath.

ACC Question
When the ACC is in operation and it detects a car in front driving more slowly, it will slow the car down until it matches the speed of the car in front. Question : Is it the reduction in engine speed that slows the car or does the car apply the brakes? And if the latter, do the brake lights get activated?

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Air con recharge @ ATS. Needed 300ml of refrigerant to top up. Working far better now.

Air Con Gas Type
Excellent, thank you so much for this Pete. I can't believe how hard this search has been for something relatively simple. I would have thought that the refrigerant type would have been stamped somewhere more permanent than on a sticker on the slam panel. Could you enlighten me as to what a PR code is?

Air Con Gas Type
Hi Pete, PM sent. Last resort will be to contact Skoda, but based on the general consensus on the forum, even they can't always be relied upon.

Air Con Gas Type
And again.... Just checked my mate's 2019 Octy VRS and the connections are the same as my 2016 Superb and the 2020 Vauxhall but the sticker on his slam panel states R1234YF. So the different connection theory seems to be BS.

Air Con Gas Type
Following on from above... Based on the connection difference stated in the previous post I thought I'd check our works Vauxhall Combo van, registered 2020 to see if the connections are the same and..... oh no, they are identical!! However when searching round the engine bay I came across the sticker stating which gas is in the system. It says R134a. Most odd, but also welcome.

Air Con Gas Type
I'm reading that the R134 & R1234YF have different types for connection for re-gassing so would hope that would be an indicator when I take it to ATS. Further research also infers that Skoda didn't jump-the-gun and begin the swap to R1234YF in advance of it becoming mandatory in Jan 2017 Both statements above were gleaned from Google searches so could be total nonsense, many are. Hella in particular state that R134a was fitted up to 2019 in the Superb.

Air Con Gas Type
Have just checked again and my panel has absolutely nothing on it. I can see the outline of where it used to be though🤥 Doing some googling on the subject and it seems most likely to be R134A as this was fitted to all Superbs from 03/2015 - ?? . Oddly not much info thereafter but it seems that from Jan 2017 R1234YF was the specified gas. For anyone interested, the ATS deal is via Groupon. £41.00 for a recharge with R134A, & £55.00 for R1234YF.

Air Con Gas Type
Nothing on the slam panel unfortunately.

Air Con Gas Type
My 2016 Superb 1.6 diesel SE Business is booked in for a recharge at ATS. It still works ok but this year it hasn't been quite as cold or as quick to cool the car, plus I don't think it's ever been done before. Can anyone confirm the type of gas required. I've selected R134A as it seems to be the type fitted before Jan 2017, thereafter it changes to R1234YF which is more expensive.

Missing Software
Thanks langers2k, question answered.

Missing Software
That was how ApertureS checked that the software was missing. It's a while ago now but he talked me through what to look for and we discovered it was no longer there. The button seems to work. It lights up every time I press it, just does nothing. With due respect this question just needs a simple yes or no answer.

Cambelt Replacement
Which model Superb?

Missing Software
Never worked since I got it 3 years ago and I'm the 2nd owner. I'm guessing it got wiped during a visit to either Skoda or Halfords as they were the only two places it ever went to for repairs and servicing prior to me getting it. It had been a lease car to Southern Water before I got it and shows no signs of it being pimped so don't suppose the previous owner played about with it. As I said before the driving mode software was recorded as being installed as per original build details. Just want to know where I need to go to get it re-installed.

Missing Software
Would an Indy be able install missing software on my Superb or will I have to visit the dreaded Skoda dealer for this? The driving Mode button is not working and I suspect the car is stuck in Eco mode. I believe that apertureS confirmed previously that the software was installed as part of the original build but it has now gone AWOL

Drivers Seat Discomfort - Again.!
I've recently done a few 5 - 6hr trips down top Cornwall in the Superb. Begins to get uncomfortable after about 4hrs and upon arrival both hips have all but seized up. Had to do the same trips in a high-top transit and a Vivaro van. Both were excellent with no pains during or after the journey. Of course the seating position in the vans is far more upright than the Superb and ultimately far more comfortable. Worst car I ever had for back pain was a Citroen BX. The seating position was such that you drove in almost a horizontal position.

Replacing rear discs and pads.
Looking at your pictures again it does seem that the octy hub is about 2 or 3 times deeper than my Superb.

Replacing rear discs and pads.
If they are anything like the Superb, you shouldn't need to remove the calliper bracket. There should be enough room once the pads have been backed off to remove the disc without disturbing the calliper. For my sins, i didn't realise that the pistons needed to be turned back in, I just pushed them back, with no sign so far of any damage or problems. Passed the MOT about a month after I did them.
