  1. This seems relatively common with Mk1 Fabia models AFAIK.
  2. Hi Juan and a warm welcome to Briskoda!
  3. Avoid it like the plague IMO, unless you fancy doing some work... Does this car have to be automatic, as I could no doubt find you a better spec one with my AutoTrader saved searches.
  4. I presume this is the right bit for this, if it isn't then I'd appreciate a mod moving it to the right bit. Basically, since about 2017, I've had my sinuses getting choked up which then presents an odd issue with my left ear where that it feels like it wants to pop when I breathe in and out through my nose. I've found that a nasal spray has helped clear this, but I'm fed up having to rely on one each time, this issue also happens all year round. Sure, I could go and see a doctor about this, but trying to phone for my GP is a roulette of "will they answer the phone?!". I'm fully aware I'm going off on a tangent here. So anyway, does anyone have any home remedies? Just as a side note, I had my adenoids taken out and grommets put in around 2008, if that's of any relevance since this is an ear related issue. Thanks in advance, Ryan B.
  5. Now this is better. Feeling like myself again.
  6. Just trying something different for now. I'm not quite sure I like the new one Lee.
  7. I know this isn't aimed at me but aye, actually. Most of the ones over at Straiton are running (I can't confirm if they are at this second since it's dark, but yes).
  8. I can't help I'm afraid, but I shall keep whatever solution comes up in mind for when I change the drums on mine.
  9. Hi Stuart and a warm welcome to Briskoda.
  10. As @roottoot says. Whack it up on here and you'll have more chance of it selling. It's better than scrapping the car IMO, and someone might be able to turn it into something special too.
  11. @Rustynuts is yer man for all things Columbus AFAIK.
  12. Following this with great interest. Looking smashing so far.
  13. Aye that's a similar effect. I managed to get more in as well. Didn't have the heart to chuck the telly though, it still works for what we need it for and I've had it such a long time, so it has come home again.
  14. The practicality of the Fabia knows no bounds... Well maybe except for a lamp...
  15. This is me with the OEM accessories book for the Mk1 Fabia...
  16. If you don't have a good feeling about something like that, then I'd say walk away from the car to be honest. It doesn't hurt to be picky, especially if you're needing a reliable car.
  17. Been class watching you do the work to it on your Instagram, might I add.
  18. Tying in with this. My mother's Dacia Duster was in the region 11 grand (pre-reg 1.0 turbo Comfort) in September 2020 and was the upper limit of what she could afford, even on hire purchase as our Toyota Auris had too many things wrong with it for us to want to pour money into it. My car was £1,400 in March of this year (56 plate Ambiente 1200), being as much as I could afford. I'm in a single parent household and I have one sibling. These are the best we could get for whatever money we had. Now, I don't know if I'm "most households", but I'm still a statistic somewhere, no doubt about that. Now anyway, it's just my experience. You (the reader, not the person I'm replying to) may have a different experience, and that's alright. I just thought I'd share my two pence etc. Side note: if you can read that, then good, I've had a busy day so stringing sentences together is involving a lot of effort.
  19. I second that. Would probably have done the same, even seen a Mk1 that has tempted me as a second car, but alas, I don't have the money, space, or willing mother to do such a thing... Anyways, back on topic... Those TDI engines will probably outlive all of us...
  20. That'd be a good choice for him if he doesn't need an auto for him and his partner, in my opinion, cannot make assumptions. It has electric windows all round which can be locked for when the wee yin gets older and learns how to work the magic thingy on the door card.
  21. Okay, I don't have a Mk2, but I have a Mk1 and I can have a stab at answering your questions... The "1" is the base specification model. "2" being midrange and "3" being the highest of the pre-FL Mk2 Fabias. Aye that'd be a reasonable car for yourself, partner, and child. Mine can hold 4 adults and their paraphernalia easily. I can't vouch for these engines but I reckon it'll be nippier than my 64hp 1.2. MPG should be reasonable IMO. Solid little things. Haven't had much issues with crosswinds in mine to be honest, and as yours would have a heavier engine etc. That's a bit expensive IMHO given the lack of recent service (MOT doesn't equal a service), mileage, and the driver's window problem. I'd look elsewhere in that regard. Auxiliary cable area should be down by handbrake IIRC. I don't know what this engine is meant to sound like, an owner may be able to provide more insight. I highly doubt it, especially if it's a Fabia "1". You'd probably need a Mk3 Fabia with the correct options for that. Hope that helps a wee bit.
  22. Do it. You'll probably pull some traffic in here (like me, funnily enough).
  23. Or, in some cases, putting badges on that indicate more performance, no? I'm aiming this at people with stock 5-series BMWs who stick an M5 badge set on it.
  24. At least the grilles look to be of a better size IMO. The thought of the massive grilles remind me of this... Anyway...
  25. Just shy of two hours the guy had it done in. Car was just as clean inside as before. He cleaned the rear view mirror, which was nice of him.
