  1. We had this issue. My mother works in care and requires her car to get to and from work, but was very close to having no fuel because all the folk with their Range Rovers were sucking the land dry because the Daily Mail told 'em to do it. Anyway, I shall stop being so angry and go back to the hole from whence I came.
  2. Hi and welcome to Briskoda, Rob!
  3. Fantastic snaps, Colin. Haven't been to the Lake District since 2008. Used to spend a lot of time with my family down in a lodge thing beside Lake Windermere.
  4. Good, I'll keep the medics on standby for my heart then...
  5. Looks class with them wind deflectors on them. They can really smarten a motor up. Team Heko's, I presume?
  6. 1. Any Fabia with a petrol engine. 2. Standard on all Fabias. 3. Rare, but possible. 4. Corrida Red or Flamenco Red, maybe even Cayenne Orange? 5. Most Classic models, unless specced with 'lectric windows and central locking. I'd suggest looking at a late model Fabia Classic, most come with air conditioning from standard even with manual windows. The post-facelift models also have dual airbags as standard. 1.2 12v is good as long as you look after it. The 1.4 MPI engine can be found in earlier Fabias pre-MY2004, you may even get a Silverline for not too much money. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202108196419026 This isn't red, but it's a 1.2 12v (don't get a 6v model) Classic with manual mirrors but keeps some nice things such as electric windows, central locking, and air conditioning, which was standard for most, if not all, post-2004 Fabias due to special offers. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202110188617756 This is the same shade of red as mine, but in Classic spec with manual windows etc. You'll have air con, but it doesn't mean you have to use it. You'll have to define limited budget however and I'll search for something for you.
  7. Hi and a warm welcome to Briskoda, Filip!
  8. Sorry to hear that you're going, Max. I think I speak on the behalf of everyone when I say that you're always welcome to stay, even if you're without your Octavia. I wish you the very best.
  9. It feels odd seeing one of those interior lights in the rear as that's the one I've got in the front of my Mk1 Fabia...
  10. Aye, one like that down my way. My best friend gets her car serviced and any work carried out at this guy's garage no bother and we didn't have any problems until my Mum's ailing Toyota came onto the scene and he estimated her £1,500 to get the ECU replaced on the car. Went to another local independent in a village over and he fixed it no bother for a lot less and has carried out all the work (that I haven't done) on my Fabia too.
  11. I know that there were map lights added to Korban's Fabia Mk1, so hopefully you could pull something from this...
  12. Easy money. Especially if they think they can just keep billing you for potentially pointless repairs.
  13. I have been enlightened. The Fabia is good for London's ULEZ but there's still the congestion charge, should I have understood that correctly. The reg is just a random one off a car I saw for sale.
  14. That's me looking at that price! I was paying £1.48 a litre for Morrison's Super Unleaded for my Fabia as a test. I found no benefit from it so I went back to basic petrol from Jet at £1.40 a litre currently and the car feels fine. Ah well, it was nice to try one of the finer things in life...
  15. Jesus, got a hole in the tank of the other one?
  16. Should get one of those switches with the covers over them like on jets and stuff. This is what I wanted to hear. I keep seeing this local (well, local enough) red SDI estate that is a tempting beast...
  17. As a side note people, the 9N headrest I ordered had the guide poles the wrong way round for the guides fitted to the seats (partially, also the wrong part number). I will now attempt to find the correct parts.
  18. Give it welly, and disregard the fact it's knocking back petrol like my mate with whisky shots...
  19. Little and large... Maybe not quite recent per se, but still
  20. Yeah, as @lol-lol says, it looks a wee bit like this... I hate that they do this to be honest, especially the Scotsman.
  21. Howdy. Been having some absolutely mental ideas to do with cheap cars I can get my hands on, as always, and as such brought on this question. Is the headlining/roof lining in the Fabia vRS the same shape or fitment as that of the estate or would one have to dye the old estate headliner? Black plastic trim pieces would be arranged with a spray can, that's not a problem. I was just wondering if the headlining was the same for both cars. Thanks in advance, Ryan
  22. Hi and a warm welcome to Briskoda, David. Nice to see a fellow Scot join the side.
