  1. I'm coming from a Mark 1 so it might be completely different as I don't know what the headlights are like on the Mk3 and so on. However, I bought these Philips X-Treme bulbs to replace the candles in mine and wow, they're a lot better. These are the ones I bought, should your car take the H7 fitting then you're all good. I also replaced the H3s in mine, just to be sure.
  2. Hi and welcome to the forums!
  3. Welcome to the forums! I hope the Octavia suits your needs better.
  4. That's quite a journey all round! I love Girvan. I have a lot of childhood memories of stopping there with my Gran and Grampa when going to Stranraer during the Summer with the caravan. We'd stop in at the parking area at the far side where the little hut that sells the burgers sits. Good burgers, actually. I do about 150-180 in a week mostly for getting shopping or to make some of the journey to university (the rest is covered by a train). I've found the cheapest bits to be Asda and Morrisons in Ayr for fuel, but only Morrisons does the Super Unleaded. There's a lot of maths I can go into how often I refuel and what it costs me.
  5. Marvellous pics!
  6. Thanks, Ken. I wasn't too sure on the legalities of that.
  7. Very nice Octavia. Welcome to the forums!
  8. I don't think the West End Garage is still in Broxburn (EH525LL I think), but having not been out that way in ages, I'd be none the wiser. I didn't buy the car new either. Might just get one from Glenfield's of Kilmarnock to match the front one then
  9. Very true. Our black Toyota Auris was a right pain. You could blink after washing it and it was filthy! I always thought the Race Blue was a very nice colour and I'm gutted you can't get a standard Mk1 Fab in it... without a respray obviously.
  10. Edited my post to be sure I'm not giving out incorrect information. Thanks!
  11. How about Race Blue, as seen on later Octys and the Fabia vRS SE?
  12. As Wino says. It's most likely the door carriers behind the door cards. When you go to replace those door cards for the ones from that SE then whack a bit of sealant around the bottom of the door carrier and also up the rear edge.
  13. Bumping this for an odd request. Is it possible to get plates done to spec like the original ones provided by the Skoda dealer from where the car was procured? I've got one original dealer plate on the rear and wanted to know if it is possible to get ones emulating this. Image just for reference... Please ignore the grubby tailgate. It actually got washed today, photo was taken yesterday,
  14. I presume you're looking for this guy?
  15. I've got to ask, how does one add purchased trees onto their account? I bought them through Ecologi for Briskoda... if I've done it right, that is.
  16. It was overdue a wash. Was lying on the ground to put some screws back into the doors after taking the cards off and the whole car was filthy from the ground up and gave me some motivation to sort the thing out. Click to the last page for a decent before, and have some afters. All done with the power washer and some "general purpose" car soap. It keeps it looking clean, which is all I wanted.

  19. Thank you, it's a low mileage car that's probably been garage stored originally so I reckon that's what prevents it from looking like a right shed. That's on my to-do list actually. Can get the whole set of originals for £45 on the 'bay. That's also part of the plan too. I reckon I need an excuse to justify it to myself however, so if there's a broken coil coming up for the MOT then you'll know why.
  20. Internet Connection/PC Intensive Thread Update Once again, more has been done to the car. The rear speakers had been done last week, but the fronts still needed done. As such, they were done today. It was a hellish job undertaken by my Grampa and I today after studying HatBoyHarvey's YouTube video on door card removal. The other snag, much like the rears, was the fact I didn't have a wiring adapter. Therefore the original speaker spacers were butchered so we could get to and modify the connector. The new speakers provide miles better sound quality and bass response. Gives a nice rumble through the bases of the seats when listening to particularly bass-intensive music, Don't Make Me Wait by Bomb The Bass, to be precise. Anyway, I also got some photos of the car, which with the dirt on it looks more like Cayenne Orange than ever in certain lights. That's all for now. I don't quite know what comes next for the Fabia, besides christening it with a name.
  21. Indeed, the accelerator one came off today when I was out with it. However, I've put a bit of heavy duty double-sided tape on the other side and it's stuck so far.
  22. Welcome to the forums, Chris!
  23. Nice looking Octavia, Rob! Welcome to the forums.
  24. Maybe not quite as sophisticated as you lot with your expensive Hi-Fis since I'm a bit of a tightwad and operate on a tight budget anyway. So I present to you all one of the critical components of my stereo system, my 1981 Technics RS-M215 tape deck. It works and cost me £18. I can't complain 20211021_193253.mp4
