  1. By the way... is that LED for an alarm of some sort?
  2. Got a free manual for the Skoda Symphony stereo off of him - which arrived quickly and well packaged - plus he's also helped me over my time here with various "quirks" of my Fabia. Lovely gent and always a pleasure!
  3. Thanks for the offer but my black cloth seats are ideal for my uses.
  4. Let me know how you get on with that. I can live with cleaning the seats currently and remain thankful that they're not Fabia vRS spec seats.
  5. Good idea, more for me than the dog.
  6. Cheers Mike! One of those with an old dearie in a Peugeot doing a right hand turn in front of a 55mph Fabia (mine, 55mph to 15mph in a split second. Car and I are fine, but brakes were well used) happened the other day and spurred on said thoughts about a dog harness.
  7. Thanks! The suspension (springs etc.) replacement currently not a necessity but will be addressed when I feel it's time. I've got a throttle position sensor to replace first. I'd also rather get the bushes done because it creaks like hell over bumps.

  9. Basically, after a near miss the other day (dog wasn't in the car at the time, but spurred this thought on), I need something suitable for my Springer Spaniel to make sure he's safe in the Fabia. It also needs to stop him from sitting on my lap as I drive because I don't want and/or require a face full of Springer when he causes me to land in the car in a field. He's not big for a Springer, but he's not that small either. Do any of you people with dogs who they keep in the back seat have a decent brand of harness for keeping him in the one bit keeping him and I safe. Have a photo of him just for filler.
  10. I cannot confirm nor deny that statement.
  11. And the award for the most thread updates goes to... ANYWAY, I was able to go to the Ayr Market today which had reopened and managed to get an older Alpine head unit which was iPod compatible for the grand total of 15 smackeroonies (£15). It has been fitted and the little area below the head unit has had a hole drilled into it so I could run the iPod cable through for my 5th Generation iPod. The stereo also can take CDs with CD text, which was a nice touch. The song playing was Shine by The Space Brothers. It's bass heavy enough to give the new speakers a run for their money.
  12. Welcome to the forums!
  13. I've changed my gearstick gaiter, added an armrest, among other things. I'd suggest checking my project thread. I've got more stuff lined up too. The scissors have been moved by the way.
  14. Noted. You know where I am if you sell it.
  15. Welcome to the forums, Ivan!
  16. It's the same dash for all the Mark 1s, the only difference was the steering wheel, dash cluster, and airbag badge on the passenger side. Mine is a 2006 Ambiente, so it's post-facelift.
  17. I always liked that era of Vectra. My Grandad had a fairly basic Vectra LS 1.8 at the time, a black one.
  18. Not that I'm a bad influence, but do it.
  19. The second hand car market is going off it's rocker right now as a result of manufacturing issues and probably some political stuff, but I'm no expert. You've done well in terms of depreciation!
  20. This section of the dash is the same IIRC. My single DIN adapter went in with my Kenwood KDC-BT640U (see my project thread), it was designated for Fabias between '99 and '07. You should be alright I think. Just be sure to make sure you use the right stereo removal keys. I made that mistake, never again.
  21. That's alright, because the logistics behind moving a full watering car in the boot of a car which has a tendency to lean well into corners doesn't seem like a good idea.
  22. Is yours one of the ones up in Dalry? Or down in Dalry, in my case.
  23. Like the one off the old Vectra?
  24. That's more detail than I was willing to go into! The 1.2 Fabia has been given some of the 97 RON stuff from Morrison's the past couple of fill-ups, their "Super Fuel". My MPG is, on average, somewhere in the region of 40-48mpg depending on how I drive and if I'm going up hills a lot. I tend not to let mine go under halfway so it's usually about £30-£35 each time, every 2-3 weeks.
