  1. Thank you, it's a low mileage car that's probably been garage stored originally so I reckon that's what prevents it from looking like a right shed. That's on my to-do list actually. Can get the whole set of originals for £45 on the 'bay. That's also part of the plan too. I reckon I need an excuse to justify it to myself however, so if there's a broken coil coming up for the MOT then you'll know why.
  2. Internet Connection/PC Intensive Thread Update Once again, more has been done to the car. The rear speakers had been done last week, but the fronts still needed done. As such, they were done today. It was a hellish job undertaken by my Grampa and I today after studying HatBoyHarvey's YouTube video on door card removal. The other snag, much like the rears, was the fact I didn't have a wiring adapter. Therefore the original speaker spacers were butchered so we could get to and modify the connector. The new speakers provide miles better sound quality and bass response. Gives a nice rumble through the bases of the seats when listening to particularly bass-intensive music, Don't Make Me Wait by Bomb The Bass, to be precise. Anyway, I also got some photos of the car, which with the dirt on it looks more like Cayenne Orange than ever in certain lights. That's all for now. I don't quite know what comes next for the Fabia, besides christening it with a name.
  3. Indeed, the accelerator one came off today when I was out with it. However, I've put a bit of heavy duty double-sided tape on the other side and it's stuck so far.
  4. Welcome to the forums, Chris!
  5. Nice looking Octavia, Rob! Welcome to the forums.
  6. Maybe not quite as sophisticated as you lot with your expensive Hi-Fis since I'm a bit of a tightwad and operate on a tight budget anyway. So I present to you all one of the critical components of my stereo system, my 1981 Technics RS-M215 tape deck. It works and cost me £18. I can't complain 20211021_193253.mp4
  7. Did something nice with the Fabia today in the one dry spell we had between finishing a lecture and taking the Spaniel out... So, some of you will have seen the thread about these, but if you haven't then here you go. Metal pedal covers, purchased off of eBay for less than 20 quid. Before: After: I realise the brake one may not quite be on right, but I'll argue with it tomorrow morning when there's daylight. After a few (maybe 20-30???) harsher than normal slams of the brake, it feels secure but sits a wee bit funny. More on that tomorrow with the photos of other parts being fitted etc.
  8. Just as the title says. Wondering if anyone here is from Ayrshire like myself.
  9. Welcome to the forums! Nice to see another 1.2 HTP owner, even if it's in the newer model.
  10. Glad to see you're staying. Sorry to hear about you parting with your Octavia however.
  11. I reckon heading here should give you a wee hand pal. Hope that helps!
  12. I'm seeing no change from E5 regular to the new E10, I'm still seeing 40-48mpg depending on how I drive. I've been putting Morrison's Super E5 in it and I think the car feels a little sharper, but that could be a placebo.
  13. The scenery from the train, approximately at Lochwinnoch when posted.
  14. Gendan are a good bunch. My Grampa swears by them for anything he needs for his various Vauxhalls, such as oxygen and lambda sensors. My coilpacks will certainly be coming from then if/when the time arises for my Fabia's coils to resign from daily duty.
  15. T'was a nice morning, as they say. Yeah it's still grubby, but it'll be getting cleaned soon with any luck.
  16. Caught the tail-end of the sunrise up towards Dalmellington today off the side of the A713 which has gorgeous scenery for the most part, with my little Fabia photobombing from the left. Took this with my Samsung Galaxy S7 since it was a bit of an impromptu photo as I was early for picking up my friend.
  17. You had me there! Welcome to the forums.
  18. Welcome to the forums!
  19. The fortunate thing is that this wee car is my daily and I check the seals etc. as often as possible. I'm more concerned about water lying in the drivers side front sill however.
  20. Pinch one from your Mk1 perhaps? Since they use the same platform. That's if you didn't chuck the old Comfort seats though.
  21. Where'd you get the Skoda Motorsport plate surrounds from? Did they come with the car?
  22. Hence why there's no photos of my rear speaker replacement... I spent most of it on my back with the seats folded down and my legs hanging out the boot! I like the vRS kit on a black Fabia but less so on the lighter ones (besides the Special Edition) where I prefer the standard bumpers. Standard bumpers with the small spoiler look good in any colour IMO, there's a few older Fab's cropped up like that on AutoTrader (no I totally don't have a saved search running).
  23. Indeed. I caught a glimpse of it in a photo of a new Fab that you put up and I think it looks nice!
