  1. I'll mibbie send you a PM in the morning.
  2. Ah yes. With this system I don't know the speed as there's no paperwork, so it's a gamble really. I've been building other PC systems for quite a long time now, so am familiar with FSB speeds etc in relation to RAM etc, such as my 300MHz Celeron system using a 66MHz front-side-bus as well, of which the RAM used the same frequency speed to run at.
  3. Big changes in the world of my little Fabia... First on the list... rust... I was pressure washing the car, went to do the sill and all the paint came off at a million miles an hour. I was gutted at first. I do see a benefit here as it allowed me to drown that area in Hammerite's Kurust and then slap a dollop of Flamenco Red touch-up pen paint on it. In terms of s***e paintwork, I've also developed another bout of lacquer peel under the other headlight. Again, could get it done properly, or I'll wait till the bumper is really bad then swap it for another one. Aye, it's effing hideous, but it should keep that little bit at bay, or make me feel better about it. I've said that if it gets to 20 years old then I'll look at getting it sorted professionally since it'll be a "classic" by then, allegedly. That's quite a daunting thought... It definitely deserves a bit more love as I'd hate to see it turn into a right rotten banger, so more on that much, much later. Next thing that was on my list was to finally pull a finger out my backside and sort the air conditioning out because it didn't work. At all. Which is bad in summer. DAMHIK. So in it went to Auld Arnie Shark today (since my Mum gets staff discount) to get the air conditioning serviced and re-gassed. Believe me, it's like a bloody fridge now. Never want to leave the car anymore! I'm very pleased, they've also cleaned it inside and out along with I reckon they've been spraying some lubricant on the console bushes or something as they're not as bad as they were when I dropped the car off. It doesn't feel as much like a rickety auld shed now, it feels a lot newer, like a nearly 62,000 mile car should, instead of feeling like a rolling death trap. Finally, I'll bring this post to a close with another modification that I've completed, as what else could I be doing at 19:30 at night?! I've always preferred the pre-facelift rear lights for the Fabia and ever since one of my rear lights got a right nasty scratch then I thought it was worth my while to swap both lights for some pre-facelift lights in a decent condition. So I present to you all, the car as it is now, with the pre-facelift lights. I'm still trying to hunt down a decent condition parcel shelf with the netting underneath, the little pop-out DIN cubby from the Elegance, and some other bits and bobs. I must make a list again of the bits I'd like.
  4. Maybe not entirely. I tried an MOT check and that returned nothing. Chances are it could be on a private plate as my old reg returns the same thing. Anyway, back on topic somewhat, I should have the site back up and running properly in a few days.
  5. I think a Cert. of Destruction has come through for this as I can't find anything on the Tax and MOT checker site. As an aside, I always think the ones with Xenons look a bit stunned, like "OMG, I'm a car!"
  6. I haven't quite finalised fixing the PDFs yet, but thanks to @MikeTheThinker it's beginning to get back 'on the road'. I think the brochure I have up is 05/06 as it includes the A/C deal and talks about the phasing out of the SDI engine etc. That's a bizarre spec, also has a sunroof and by the looks of it, some side airbags, and the middle rear headrest. Rather nice IMO, and in a smashing colour. Mibbie imported from another market, or a one-off?
  7. I'm with Ken. And at that you'd be jist as well fixing your current one, and you've got the added bonus of knowing the history of the one you have.
  8. This is a brand new one, made by Depo. I have used them, as has @TMB and others. https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/p/depo-headlamp-471780101
  9. Looks absolutely marvellous!
  10. Can't assist mechanically but...
  11. Been out with my 35mm SLR because I've been off for a wee while and have had even more time on my hands. Scanner done it no justice really, the print looks much better, but I've run it through some editing software to brighten it up a tad. fabia.bmp
  12. Thanks, Mick.
  13. Decided to go fully automatic with the Canon EOS1000F that my Uncle gave me many moons ago. Linked them from my Flickr because the bitmaps were about 25MB each since they were 600DPI scans! As a result, you better not be on 56k, and regardless of t'interwebs connection, it'll take a wee bit to load I think. One for @Lady Elanore below...
  14. Two weeks off from the swimming and let me tell you something, I can ****ing tell, I'm exhausted after my first night back.
  15. I had an issue where the earth connection on the car was causing electronics to throw a fit. I'm not saying that is definitely your issue, but it's free to take the connection off at the inside of the wing and clean it. Otherwise, I'll leave the experts to this.
  16. Fuelling issue perhaps? Fuel pump, fuel pump relay etc etc.
  17. I've went out to do jobs on my Fabia and debated about how nice a lift would be and have decided I'm in the wrong profession, but I enjoy what I do, so yeah.
  18. This web hosting crowd have been funny with me uploading PDFs because apparently the item that triggered their system (a manual for the MS202 unit) is "abuse"... , I'm going to be sorting that out tomorrow with some luck so that they can be hosted externally, or I can move over to another provider.
  19. Been looking about on other parts of Brisky, seem to have things pointing towards a dying fuel pump relay of some sort. I'm going to get the correct relay from TMS and fit it just to see if that helps it any as it's got progressively worse with it now beginning to cut out or try to stall when running and in motion, making me think it's a fuelling issue of some sort as it's like turning the key to turn the engine off.
  20. That should be everything sorted, at least on the surface. The web hosting folk aren't impressed that I've been uploading such big files for reasons beyond me so I'm currently trying to make sure they don't suspend the account!
  21. 61k... the trip is what I've done in shy of a week. Ticked past 600 miles on the way home. Safe to say this week has been tiring! Still, 61k miles isn't bad for a car that'll be 16 years old this year.
  22. Cheers Lee, I wouldn't have noticed those issues. If they're 404-ing then it may be because they're linked to the old addresses with Geocities. I had issues across the board with this and I think these are ones I didn't transfer. I'll sort that out tomorrow morning.
  23. Nothing particularly new, but if you've got this page bookmarked it's now at http://www.madinterwebs.co.uk/fabdl since I've purchased a web domain.
  24. Jesus that is pretty bad, Mac. It does sound a bit like what my Grampa did with the Edition 100 Vectra. He regassed the air conditioning himself as the rad for it was FUBAR from hitting a pheasant - done a lot of the other work himself too, but it probably would have been an insurance write-off at the time regardless. I don't know if it's still cost effective to do the air con regas yourself, if you have to do it, of course.
