  1. I'll disagree on that one - when you're playing with £1,500. It's going to be more of a luck of the draw thing. Just never buy a bloody Fiat, things financially p****d away on... canny be financially un-p****d away on.
  2. You won't get a seven seater Skoda for £1,500 as most will be too new. You may manage to get a Roomster for that price though, which is a five seater. Otherwise, other seven seat MPVs are available from other manufacturers, or if sticking with VAG sheds then a Sharan perhaps.
  3. Hello and welcome to Briskoda. Must say I love the nickname for your Fabia.
  4. Hi and welcome to Briskoda! Hope you enjoy your car when it arrives.
  5. I'm terrified of snakes (well most snakes) so I've been giving Aus a wide berth... Aye definitely. I live in the middle of nowhere and there's some lovely bits for walking.
  6. Ooooh that is awfy clean looking. I'm aptly green with envy.
  7. My Granda worked with a guy whose son had bought a MkII Astra GTE (or GSI?) c.1991 brand new and took it to a local long uphill straight near Auchinleck and gave it gutty to see what it could do. Hidden Police radar gun clocked him at 110mph (I think it was) at the brow of the hill. Lost his license for 6 months and that Astra sat on the drive for ages.
  8. Aye true, but they look cool.
  9. Ah hang on, I've put the wrong second picture up there. I meant to include one of a lemon yellow vRS instead. I'll edit that accordingly, apologies!
  10. Do keep in mind there are two shades of yellow available for the vRS, as the useless fact you'll retain in your mind. Lemon Yellow, and Sprint Yellow. Sprint Yellow was a later colour for the car, such as @Lofty will be able to tell you... of which I've linked one of his photographs for comparison's sake. Sprint Yellow: Lemon Yellow: The colour difference may appear subtle on screen*, but is more noticeable off-screen in my experience. *or at least it does on my ancient computer screen. Hope this helps.
  11. Plus I don't know if it's the same for you, Sep... but I still see a lot of Mk1 Octy's, particularly diesel ones. They seem to be hanging on quite well here.
  12. And another one of my Dad, this time with his first car... a copy of a copy of a copy... etc. Must have been taken about 1994/1995. Better photos do exist. I'll report back once I've got more.
  13. My Dad's second and third cars both appear in this photograph. Second was the red Nova - which is still on the road. Third was the white Celica - a Carlos Sainz Limited Run model, can't find it anywhere. The black Vectra (a CDX mind, because posh) was my Grampa's. Funnily enough, here's my car sitting in the same place as the Nova about 20 years on.
  14. I was sitting here earlier trying to work out a way of saying it that wouldn't sound like a right kick to the teeth...
  15. Changed the title on here as I feel it's a wee bit more fitting since I do a little more than swimming. I'm not a runner, nor have I had the desire to be one (sorry to the lads who do, it's just not my thing ) but I also live in quite a beautiful part of Scotland and aim to be taking more of an advantage to it by going for some decent wee walks and that again. Will probably log some stuff here on top of the swimming when... or rather if I remember.
  16. Good work on this. Maybe further than I'd dare going...
  17. Welcome back! One of the oldest remaining members besides moderators and Colin that I can think of off the top of my head definitely has to be @skomaz if that helps.
  18. Went out a wee walk across the 'twa brigs' in the village.
  19. He won't stay No1 son for long if he does!
  20. From 'Google Translate' Welcome to Briskoda! I know no Spanish, so apologies!
  21. An old one from the pre-COVID days when we went a weekend away to Stirling, February 2020. Linked through my Flickr, now that I know how to work it.
  22. I do wish they're bring the "real" estate back, e.g the Logan. I do like Dacias, or at least the pair we have are excellent so far. The Duster is three years old (2019 pre-reg, wasn't bought till 2020), and the Sandero is eight years old this year. Good, practical cars IMO, I still prefer my Mk1 Fabia over the Sandero for the specs alone, however.
  23. Last one would definitely be an Air B'n'B in a more literal sense.
