Headlights for my mk1 Vrs (2005)
I replaced my units. Before removing the old ones I drove an appropriate distance (about 2m) from my Grampa's garage door, turned the headlights on, and marked the door with chalk where the beam met. Once complete the job, the lights went back on and we're adjusted to meet the chalk markings. Haven't had a passing car flash me for the lights yet so they must be okay. Getting them checked before the MOT just to be sure though.

I believe so.- car issue but only for a second
+1 on this. Mine did the same thing when a coil pack failed. £19.50 from my local motor parts place and it has been running fine since. As @xman says, a code will indicate the coil pack that has crapped itself. If memory serves, your codes would be one of these or similar: P0301 - cylinder one P0302 - cylinder two P0303 - cylinder three P0304 - cylinder four, if your car has one. Edit: just saw OP has 3-cyl HTP engine. Hope this helps.- Windows 11
The file explorer has changed somewhat. Looks smoother but I'm not sure I'm all too keen on it. Same here. Wee brothers Dell Latitude E6540 (i7-4800) isn't compatible with W11. Shame as it's well kitted out. My desktop with an i7-2600k meets specs otherwise with 24GB of RAM and other fine things, but won't run it. Same for my ThinkPad I use for University but I don't mind that as much since I only need it until 2025.- Engine occasionally judder at idle - Help
Thank you for clearing that up. I wasn't sure if there was much of a difference in gearing between the Mk1 BME and the Mk2 BZG. Obviously there is as mine can sit in 4th at 20 but it sits at around 1,100rpm and therefore struggles.- Engine occasionally judder at idle - Help
Yes I understand what you are saying. However, you'll be causing it to struggle a bit which may cause issues as well. Anyway, hope that helps.- Oled or Qled
I've got a Samsung plasma in my bedroom, a 32" one from 2008. Works great as well on the rare occasion I use it.- Oled or Qled
Our living room TV is an LG 55" doohicky, Ultra HD I think. I personally prefer my 2007 37" Panasonic plasma since I can wire it into the Hi-fi. Even if it's enough to heat the house...- Engine occasionally judder at idle - Help
AFAIK, the only reason you'd need to code it in is if it wasn't the original stereo. At least such is the case in the Mk1, and I doubt it has changed. Mine just worked after work with the battery ground.- Fabia VRS SE #348?

How is it against a milk float?- AnnoyingPentium's 2006 Fabia 1.2 12v Ambiente-ish
Ah yes. The 0.9 is probably a good choice. Think it's about £155 for road tax at the moment too, fuel economy isn't bad either. You'll feel a power boost between that an a 1.4 MPI though, I'll tell you that! I used to go between my Fabia and my driving instructor's 130bhp turbo Fiesta and the power difference was often a little startling if I had driven the Fabia a lot in a run up to a lesson.- AnnoyingPentium's 2006 Fabia 1.2 12v Ambiente-ish
We've (my Granda) got a Sandero Stepway (2nd Generation, pre-FL on a 14 plate) with the 0.9 petrol engine. It's not a bad car besides some odd faults which I don't think are common. It can shift too, I reckon the diesel may be a better choice, if you do the mileage, that is. Otherwise I think there's a 1.2 petrol too. There was never a Haynes workshop manual for the Grande Punto he had either, but it wasn't too bad to work on without it. I wouldn't buy one of those though, as they're aging they're developing more holes than swiss cheese underneath!- AnnoyingPentium's 2006 Fabia 1.2 12v Ambiente-ish
It's a... learning experience, to say the least. There's a reason I don't drive that Duster though (other than the fact I'm no longer covered on the policy), and that's probably it!- AnnoyingPentium's 2006 Fabia 1.2 12v Ambiente-ish
Onto the steering column on the opposite side from where the key goes in, Lee, otherwise the volume twisty doodad is upside-down. I'm not quite sure if I'll use it as of yet, but it's a handy gadget to have. The Dacias in the family both have similar stalks on the same side as the key in a typical Renault-esque fashion. Our Duster is lethal though since it looks as if it has steering wheel audio controls but they're actually for the cruise control!- Fabia VRS SE #348?
Gutted for you. Is it economically viable for repair?- DieselMonte's 2012 Monte Carlo Project.
Ach that'd have been ideal had I been off Thursday. Unfortunately life dictates otherwise. ... plus you'd need more than a day for all the wiring. You'd have a fit if you saw it.- DieselMonte's 2012 Monte Carlo Project.
I think I'll bring my car over for some wiring work, DM!- Engine occasionally judder at idle - Help
As a side note. Those in built up housing areas or villages will not have an option since there is often a 20mph speed limit. Or such is the case in my area and surrounding towns and villages. Hope this helps.- Engine occasionally judder at idle - Help
I don't recommend this, even if it's possible. Keeping it in 3rd gear in a 20 is more recommended as the engine is less likely to labour depending on gearing. If it's a petrol then an optimum match between engine revs and selected gear is critical. Well, it is with any car, but your petrols are more "rev happy". In short, certainly because you can doesn't mean you should. Hope this helps.- Occasional lumpy idle
The headrests between the Mk1 and Mk2 Fabias are similar, only varying in design AFAIK. In which case, 9N stuff will definitely fit, my centre rear headrest is from a 2008 9N3. Colour is ever so slightly off but that's about it. With that same logic, you can use stuff from the 6L SEAT Ibiza too. I have my doubts about Octavia stuff due to the design of the guide tubes but I can't confirm exactly.- 2021 Dacia Sandero Stepway
Thanks for the info! I'll have to wait and see if we get the estate though.- AnnoyingPentium's Return Dive into Swimming... and other 'elf stuff
Back up at the pool again. Done 28/30 (ish) front crawl before I called it quits. Target for next week is 32/34 so I can gradually get back into things again. - Photography Thread
