  1. [Insert some whimsical quote about how life passes by like a blur]
  2. You sure they were your mate and not an enemy, Stewart...?
  3. Plus it helps support the running of the site too.
  4. Welcome back to the dark side.
  5. Parking sensors are fitted and beeping. It would have been possible to fit them without removing the bumper but would have taken longer than yanking the thing off. Thank you all for your help.
  6. I like Dacia as a brand, just wish they'd bring out a new Logan now. They'd be able to bring in some of the folk expecting a Mk4 Fabia Estate I reckon, but I think we discussed that in the Mk4 estate thread, actually.
  7. YET. I feel the same way about both of the family Dacia's. They do what they say on the tin, they're a car. They don't have to be anything else, just basic transport from point A to point B. I like them for that reason.
  8. I always knew it as the Sculptor video. A good advertisement though.
  9. I dropped McAfee like a hot tattie after it done nothing after a bit of malware ravaged our desktop computer. Same with Norton. I'm a lot more sensible now for a start, and I use Bullguard on my laptop and honestly jist being cautious is plenty on the desktop which is on Windows Defender alone.
  10. I'm unsure if it's even humanly possible. If it is then expect to be paying more than just about anyone could fathom from their back pocket. See above about it not being humanly possible. @roottoot provides a good answer, however. Yes. Panelling is dramatically different, platform's are different, engine is different. You name it, it's probably different. Once again, hope this helps.
  11. It was the focus of an episode of the Traffic Cops or something like that if memory serves. Can land you in heaps of bother too.
  12. It would require extensive and expensive work, if even possible, which is unlikely. Your best bet is getting the bodykit from the RS (or vRS), or trying to find the Sport or SportLine bodykit from another car. Hope this helps.
  13. I highly doubt such a thing would fit due to generational differences between the Mk1 and Mk3.
  14. Och aye just up the road then. I take it you've seen the introduction of the sliproads along the bypass? I'm saying this like they haven't been there for years!
  15. I believe you've got this in the wrong section (being in the MkIII Fabia section) but a moderator should be able to move it. I'll mention @john999boy for said purpose.
  16. Windows 98 updates that didn't quite go on right and permanently ****ed with the registry still haunt me.
  17. Finished in 1999 before the arrival of the Yaris, I believe. So would basically just be going like for like against a Felicia. I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than own a Corsa, however if they float someone's boat then I don't mind. Most of the ones of a certain age suffer with rotting subframes etc, at least in this part of the world. Honestly out of all the cars I could have had, it was a choice between a slightly ropey Clio, a 9N VW Polo Match, and the Fabia at the end up. The Fabia represented good value based on mileage and condition only. As you'll know, internet car forums very rarely have threads to say "Oh look how good my car is running right now! Nothing to report!", they're usually for problems, and if like yourself and I, you're a member, you see a lot of these problems. Which, in turn, may warp our perceptions on these cars ever so slightly. Alright, that's enough psychological stuff for now. The OP wanted a Fabia, and based on his experiences with the Felicia, it only seems natural to progress to the Fabia. Just my two smackeroonies on that one.
  18. Very true. I was going to buy a Toyota Yaris originally (a 2007) but most examples in my part of the world have corroded brake pipes, which was also an issue for our 2010 Auris. I then looked at a Clio but that was a bit of a lemon. The Fabia seemed like the shining example in comparison. It's definitely all down to local s/h car markets in all honesty. Very true. In regards to the infamous tin worm, jacking points and arches. Agreed on the mileage thing, that wee car will lap it up for the foreseeable.
  19. Howdy and welcome to the site!
  20. That's what the replacement coil pack in my Fabia is. Got me back on the road so I have no complaints.
  21. Not a problem for the cars that Mike was looking at. No Mk1s have DPFs or start/stop. Trying to get a Toyota of that age without electric windows would be difficult. You'd have to get a Starlet or bug-eye Corolla but all of those will be similar ages to the Felicia he has already. The Fabia is a good choice as such, especially the 64hp petrol, it's a little slower than a Felicia but the tax is cheaper, MPGs will improve (although less of a priority if doing short trips) and depending on age and spec it'll be a pretty simple car... at least in comparison to a Mk2 or Mk3. Hope this helps either of you.
  22. Sounds like a nice wee day out, @roottoot.
  23. Not too far then. Went through the big E-K when going out to Hamilton to pick up my Fabia.
