Classic Cars
My not quite a classic yet 'Old Barge' (Gone but not forgotten) Vitesse model, tinkered up to 240bhp at the flywheel.

Then again, neither do tractor manufacturers

I wonder what its NCAP rating is

Is any Octavia MK4 without fault?
On the bright side, if/when they do fix these compound cars, there will be a lot of very cheap low mileage examples to be had!

2018 245 vrs
- Are used prices really THAT strong?
I think part of the reason is also the well publicised ongoing issues with the Mk IV, People would rather buy a good condition Mk III.- Superb: Reversing Camera Wide angle
My L&K had the highline- Bluetooth problem with one specific phone.
If you have any other Skoda's on the paired list on your phone, that can cause issues. I've had that both with the Skoda's i've had and my previous Mercs. Mine is also an S10- Did my first bit of Towing with the 245....
Im surprised you tow 1500KG when its max tow weight is about 1400 lol. I had the nose weight at 75kg, but just on one uphill section the car felt a bit light on the front end, its probably because i was used to using the 4x4 Freelander :). I was thinking of putting a bit of ballast in the van to lighten it up by about 5kg. Yes the acceleration when towing was very impressive, it put a little smile on my face- Did my first bit of Towing with the 245....
With the torque from the TDi, you should have no issues Its a theory I have been testing throughout lockdown.... results so far are inconclusive, must try harder!- Did my first bit of Towing with the 245....
As the title suggests, after getting the tow-bar fitted it was time to take the Carré-du-Vin for a little jaunt. Had a wonderful weekend in York, and drank far too much wine on the banks of the river. I have to admit, I was HUGELY impressed with the Octy as a tow car, although I think I need to get the weight balance right on the caravan (Two gas bottles up front made it a bit nose heavy (but still under nose weight). The Cruise control made it a hugely relaxed experience, much more relaxed than my old Freelander, and having more than enough torque meant the car didn't struggle at all. Even better I averaged 27mpg whilst mainly on back roads.- Can you fit 18 inch wheels on a VRS 245?
My 245 has 18" wheels, the tyres are 225/40R18- Towing mirrors
I have the cheap ones with rubber straps, seem to hold on OK, although i haven't gone any serious distance 60-70 miles (68 Plate VRS estate). I do loop the closest strap around the rear corner of the mirror though.- Dash rattle
I had a 2017 L&K which had a really annoying buzzy rattle in the drivers door whenever i was listening to anything that was slightly bassy. Even more annoying it used to do it whenever Johnathan Agnew was peaking during Test Match Special which made him even more irritating than he normally is! Dealer could never identify it My bloody Octy III has the same bloody buzz, going to have a go myself i think!- Cherished number: dealership using number plate for 'free' advertising
Just as an FYI, I have just bought 4 number plates from my local dealer in Grimsby (as i have just bought a private plate), 1x front and 3x rear (Caravan and Trailer) which came to a grand total of £28 including fitments. Apparently they have a lower price if they supplied the vehicle to you. I think £30 is quite scandalous TBH. And as far as i understand it, something can be legislated for but unless a specific punitive measure is put in place for the police to enforce against its entirely pointless.- Oil change joy ride.
Im sorry but ragging a customers car around IS NOT a test drive and would be very unlikely to be covered by their insurance. I would suggest that you request thier insurance company details so that you can report them and show your evidence. That should get you an outcome- Oil change joy ride.
Collate your evidence and present it to the dealer principle/senior management, also threaten to take to the police. I would be LIVID!- 1.4 tsi whistle noise when revving
Check all pipes from the airbox to the turbo and turbo to the inlet manifold, even a small split can cause a very audible whistling.- Towbar advice please
I have just had the same fitted to my Octavia III and i'm very happy with it, easy to use, totally hidden.- Hand gel damaged my steering wheel!
Black Kiwi boot polish, it will feed the leather. It will also add a protective shenn to the face of the leather. Just make sure you polish it off properly- Air Filter change interval
I find as a rule of thumb "if it does no harm, then replace it". If you wish to replace the filters early it will not damage the car. I currently live in a rural area, and change my filters at the required time, however when i lived in Germany, near a very dusty and dirty industrial site, with a lot of airborne particulate matter, i changed my filters more regularly. I still remove my pollen filter and give Henry some lunch once a year Replacing air filters are not an onerous task- Buying Superb III after SII
And you lose the all important sunglasses holder!- Octavia Vrs 245 wheel sizes
My 245 has the 18" wheels, although annoyingly when i put my reg into blackcircles to get tyre quotes it only offers 19" option, so i have to arse about putting tyre sizes in.- Some advice on inverters
Also check Caravan and camping equipment, as these are designed to run from 12V or lower wattage.- Does Hill Hold Assist come as standard on all Citigo models?
I have just checked my daughters car to find that it does have it. Colour me impressed - Are used prices really THAT strong?
