  1. My source is the TPI (1941) from last summer. It's only briefly mentioned and easy to miss.
  2. 1940 is the factory equivalent to the 1941 update.
  3. The oil sensor is read by the ECU, software updates to the infotainment should not and will not affect it. Since your oil level is ok, potential causes could be a faulty sensor, faulty wiring, sludge in oil pan etc. The latter is unlikely.
  4. How much driving between starts, and have you used the auxiliary heater for preheating? The auxiliary heater (or the interior fan to be precise) consumes a lot of juice that needs to be replenished by driving for a significant amount of time. Start/stop is working exactly as it should by the sound of it. When the battery charge goes below a certain point start/stop is disabled.
  5. He got the quote right, that's about it. I wonder what he's been up to during his 7 months at Skoda, if he never heard about rebooting infotainments, network modules crashing (POP POP), steering wheel software issues... The list goes on. Many things already fixed or being fixed right now, but clearly he's either lying or trying to cover up 😂
  6. It depends. 1941 is being distributed as OTA in batches. Only a few cars have received it OTA so far. The dealership can also update it manually if there's a problem listed in the documents further back in this thread. BS, unless you're in Australia where the eSIM doesn't work (from what I've heard). BS BS
  7. I think he wants the rust removed and meant "Rust on outside of caliper doesn't affect performance or safety, so will anyone at the shop care enough to make it a warranty case?"
  8. Now I'm confused. What's the statement I ignored?
  9. Eeh? I enabled the memory function one month into ownership and I haven't had to touch it ever since. So yes, it can.
  10. We were talking about the Eco tips, though. Lane assist can be programmed to be disabled on startup as well.
  11. The eco tips stay disabled. I don't know what you're ranting about.
  12. Not really. Driver Alert System (tiredness monitor) reminds you to take breaks after so many hours. Checks whether you're having trouble staying in the lane and so on. I've never had it alert me. I think there's just the option to enable or disable it under its menu.
  13. Must be switched off in two different places. If they are so annoying, why don't you just turn them off?
  14. I think you meant to say 'intake' instead of exhaust, that's what confused people. The turbo does the complete opposite of pressurizing the exhaust. It harvests the flow/pressure in the exhaust and lowers it to produce pressure on the intake side. I'm not sure either about the specific component fitted to modern VAG engines, but you're right, without one we'd be hearing chu-chu-chu-chu as the compressor stalls on letting off the throttle 😁
  15. Fact. My Golf MkIV had its deadzone programmed to 70-108°C from factory. After coding out the deadband, boy was it fun to see the needle dip during engine braking on a cold winter day 😁 @LuxoviaRS There's really no need to remove the cover if you're just driving on the highway. I mentioned the race track because that's probably the only place ever where a functioning stock engine would be susceptible to overheating. The radiator is designed to remove tens of kilowatts of energy. If you're in a situation where the radiator is already removing 50kW of heat and you remove the engine cover, a few hundred watts of extra cooling on top of the valve cover is not gonna make any practical difference.
  16. 10 hour trip on the race track, or what? Just save yourself the trouble and leave it on. You will remove 5x more heat from the engine by turning up the cabin heat a couple of degrees, than taking the cover off 😅 (Edit: I see it's summer over there, but that doesn't affect things too much, the idea is the same)
  17. It's in the manual... Ideally you should disable both the road and speed previews to get rid of annoying behaviour.
  18. You can disable the speed control in assist settings. Then you can just have the info on the dash. I find it quite useful sometimes.
  19. Just get a set of 20 caps. It's a couple bucks, but they will keep falling off after you've swapped your tyres once.
  20. Yep. That's what I said 👆
  21. Not unless you have a subscription. Without one, you'll have to go with the USB method.
  22. The rear footwell lights are not limited to the vRS, I have them too.
