  1. Not a single reboot since I upgraded it in July. No SOS pop-pops either since the carrier decommissioned their 3G network. Knock on wood...
  2. Get someone with OBDeleven to turn on the memory function for you. Then you can forget about it and you'll still have Travel Assist available, if your car has it.
  3. Push the stalk up one notch? On the stalk there is a selector knob with four different intensities.
  4. The physical properties of rhodopsin don't change with age. I absolutely see where you're coming from, though. Brake lights glaring in your face is in fact very annoying, especially when it's raining. But, I'd rather have an annoyed person behind me than whiplash because the driver behind me thought I was still moving. Being stationary with no brake lights and empty road behind you would be really dangerous. That's why the picture you sent clarified things, there should at least always be someone else behind you shining their brake lights for the traffic catching up.
  5. Thanks, the picture was useful! "Once the following vehicle has stopped" is the key there. It changes it all from just stupid to fully understandable. Anyway, the brake lights are red not only because it signals 'stop', but because red light doesn't compromise night vision, i.e. it hasn't really affected your low light vision once the car in front gets moving again.
  6. Genuine question; Is this a thing in the UK, brake lights while stationary being frowned upon?
  7. That's the exact reason why I've turned it off permanently. More precisely, it remembers the last setting, and since I never turn it on, it stays off. When I'm on the motorway I turn on Travel Assist, which is the correct term for the convenience feature (ACC + Adaptive Lane Guidance).
  8. Lane Assist is quite simply just a piece of code continously checking (with the help of the camera) whether the driver is about to cross a lane marking unintentionally. All other rules, including undertaking, are still being enforced.
  9. ACC and Travel Assist work flawlessly even without Lane Assist.
  10. Theoretically, 1 minute 12 seconds 😉 When done through the car, there could be other factors affecting the download speed, such as throttling on the server side (very likely), infotainment purposely throttling the connection depending on licenses, and so on.
  11. It can't possibly take 30-90 minutes to download 9 gigabytes on a proper 5G connection. Let's say the link is 500 Mbps, then 9 gigabytes would be done in 2 minutes and 24 seconds 😉
  12. White = online Grey with red cross in the bottom corner = offline
  13. You're correct. The map updates have nothing to do with the system updates. You get system updates OTA regardless of any subscriptions.
  14. At least in the Nordics, it's caused by the eSIM changing between 3G and 4G. Once the operator handling Skoda's connections in your country shuts down their 3G network, the pop pop issue will most likely be gone. The problem has disappeared for me since the operator shut down their 3G network for good.
  15. No doubt, that's a clear warranty case if there's no sign of damage to the plastic.
  16. Needs to be coded. OBD11 has a one-click app to do that.
  17. Like many before me have said, the estimate it gives you is based on your previous driving style and consumption. I don't have the hybrid, but after doing a lot of driving in the city, my car will estimate the range to 550km when filling up. After long highway trips that number will be 650km.
  18. I've been in a couple of situations exactly like the one mentioned by Steve and solved it similarly. For example, another car might be turning off the road, crossing a raised walkway, with it's rear hanging slightly onto the road still. If the other car is moving, it will be well clear of the lane when I pass that spot and there's always been plenty of room to steer around it while even staying in my own lane, but the car seems to think otherwise. Front Assist would then start braking, beeping and showing me the huge red symbol on the dash. A touch of throttle input calms it down.
  19. It won't overheat, if that's what you're afraid of. There are fans on the radiator for a few reasons, additional heat transfer while stationary, and to pull air through the condenser 😃
  20. I find it really hard to believe that deleting any error code at all would invalidate the warranty. I've been deleting a bunch of intermittent communication bus error codes and the likes every once in a while to tidy everything up when scanning. Dealer hasn't mentioned anything during visits...
  21. To avoid any further confusion; did you mean the capacitive sensing element that makes sure you have your hands on the wheel at all times when using the adaptive lane/travel assist?
  22. It could. Doesn't have to be brake fluid, could be another solvent as well. From your pictures it looks like there's dark patches radiating outwards around most of the flaky parts. That could indicate that whatever solvent got in there has creeped into the paint around the entry point and is chewing away at the paint layer from beneath. Compare it to rust chewing away at the metal starting from a small pin-sized hole in the paint somewhere.
  23. Yes... that's what I said.
