Add rear USB-C connectors
Plastic (decorative face) is not suitable for our cars. You must buy the correct one, I gave the part number a few posts ago, this is: (5E3863618 (9B9))

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Interesting thought. Keep in mind that this is not the main unit, this is just the screen. The central unit is located somewhere above the passenger compartment. The central unit may not be able to cooperate with the new screen, so this also needs searching before you start anything.

I read that a new version was released for VW (1969). It is possible that it will follow for our car as well.

Ambient lighting. Is it possible a retrofit ?
Thanks for replying. Not good news for me. My car don't have the multicolour ambient lighting (the 6T0 code means "Without interior light in footwell" ). So it is going to be a dead end. On the other hand, I've already bought the lights and done the wiring, so I'll give it a try. I have nothing to lose but time.

Ambient lighting. Is it possible a retrofit ?
Hello, again. I am thinking seriously to add footwell lights (front and rear). I am searching for the retrofit option and still gathering information. The Octavia is based on the MQB EVO platform (like Golf8). So i need the hardware (wiring and lights) and the coding (adaptations, etc.) The lights are controlled by the BCM with a LIN connection and are specific to this model. this photo is not mine, it belongs to a guy from a Russian site named KUR6UN (https://www.drive2.ru/l/611346608059065510/) There are 4 lights (each one for a specific place) with the codes: 5E3947415 5E3947415A 5E3947415B 5E3947415C I have bought the first two (for the front seats). I am making the wiring right now. The schematic: So there is a need for Pin 29 from the T73c connector and Pin70 from the same connector (T73c) My BCM: OK, pins are already exists, that's good (we have seen and read a lot about missing pins from various versions of BCMs) The connector (from my car) So far so good. Looks like I'll need to put a wire on pin 29 and splice from pin 70 a wire for current. And that's exactly where I'm at so far. I haven't made the connection, I'm making the wiring. My big concern is about adaptation. I haven't found anything similar so far for the Octavia, but only for the Golf8 This is the link https://www.motor-talk.de/forum/golf-8-fussraumbeleuchtung-t7284946.html So at this point any information for adaptation or something like that, it could be very useful.

The dashboard decorations are very easy to remove. You don't need to remove anything else. Just pull them out with your fingers, gently and carefully. There are no screws, just clips

Add rear USB-C connectors
Ιt is definitely possible. It depends on one's willingness to do such a task. Can someone get such a module from Alixpress, open it and put a board with PD. But it definitely needs a lot of details. for example: USB port dual TypeC USB-C For VW EVO 2020 -2024 T-Cross T-Roc Golf MK8 ID3 ID4 Touran Polo Arteon Variant B8 - AliExpress Btw, do you have the part number of the 45W port ?

Add rear USB-C connectors
Hi, no, there is no chance of that happening. The plug I use to connect it is for power only, not data. Please see the following picture.

Add rear USB-C connectors
USB ports installation This is the plastic we removed from the back side. We need to remove the part that is the ashtray and replace it with the USB base With a plastic tool or a small screwdriver, press the plastic pins (there are 4) and the ashtray comes out easily.press the plastic sheets (there are 4) and the ashtray comes out easily. In the opening created, put the plastic with the USBs and make sure it clicks correctly. We connect the brown plug in place and fasten all the plastic to the center console. ΅We are done!!! Now we can enjoy our new USB ports.

Add rear USB-C connectors
Installation: Some plastic parts need to be removed. The right side panel of the central console. The rear plastic (along with the air ducts) of the central console. Looking from below you can see the plug of the front USB ports. It's the red one with the 4 wires. It must be removed to make the new wiring. It's a bit difficult because of the limited space. A small tool with a turned nose that I had helped me a lot. If someone doesn't have it, he can make something similar with a thick wire. With this tool one can press the plug button to unclip and come out. Time to wire. We need to run the new wiring through the center console and bring it to the back. A plastic fish tape wire puller helped me with this. Then we connect our new wiring to the red plug, arrange the connection (I also put some soft material) so that it does not knock and make noise. The side panel can go into place, we're done with that.

Add rear USB-C connectors
Well, i managed to retrofit rear usb ports. As i mentioned i bought the plastic trim with the USBs holes. (5E3863618 (9B9) The USB module with 2 USBs - C ports is the 3G5035954A An cheap sourch is from a Poland site named SkodaParts (https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/3g5035954a-usb-c-connector-skoda-38659.html) I did the wiring. I bought some plugs for this purpose. The black to connect the wiring to the car's (needs a little modification), the red to connect the existing contact of the front seats and the brown for the rear seats USB. The black plug (female) needs a bit of cutting to get the male red plug in. Please see the photo below: And this is the wiring Each plug has 4 pins. Connect 1 to 1, 2 to 2 and 3 to 3 to all plugs. 4 only needs to be connected from the black female to the red male. The new USBs that we will put back do not need to be connected to No.4. This is the schematic This is the result of the preparation.

Ambient lighting. Is it possible a retrofit ?
Thank you Giann(is) There is someone (probably from Russia) who installed ambient lights on the Octavia's rear doors. But he claimed that the light is not as bright as you. Click the link to see it. Расширенный Ambient. Chapter 1. Задние двери. (drive2.ru) btw did you see this?

Ambient lighting. Is it possible a retrofit ?
I did the installation myself on all the doors. It was not an easy task. I spent many hours thinking about it. I finally made the decision and did the installation. The door paneling needs to be removed of course. Then, removal of the plastic piece that in the best versions accepts the lighting. Carefully cutting a thin line with a dremmel and gluing the LED strip. Some photos from the "project" The inside of the card door. Must be cutted with dremmel of with a iron solder. After the removal of the plastic trim. The plastic trim Masking with tape and ready for cutting. Trim after cutting. The "gap" is almost 3mm. I glued the LED strip with 3M double side tape. I put the plastic trim back to its possition. I used a solder iron to melt the joints. This is the final result.

Of course Gianni. This one is exaclty the same with mine. I bought from the same store. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004459702897.html?pdp_npi=4%40dis!EUR!€ 87%2C82!€ 58%2C84!!!93.25!62.48!%402103201917070740966928384ec2b5!12000029378763755!sh!GR!109817215!&spm=a2g0o.store_pc_allItems_or_groupList.new_all_items_2007586021007.1005004459702897

MkIV Octavia VRS Audio upgrade - disappointing
Thank you for answering. I will buy the IS 165's and install them myself since you say they fit perfectly. I'm a little worried about the 10mm gap, but the solution you made is good and easy. I also read that the plugs don't match, so I've already ordered matching ones for the Octavia to modify. The cold doesn't bother me because, as you said, in Greece we don't have very low temperatures.

Add rear USB-C connectors
I am willing doing this retrofit. I currently have the plastic trim with the 2 holes for the USB ports to fit through. The code is 5E3863618 (9B9) The hard part is the wiring. There is no wiring in the car so if someone wants to add these ports they have to build it themselves. I'm thinking of getting power from the wiring of the front USB ports. This is the existing connector for the front USB Ports
