  1. Search for the "blink code" you're seeing; It probably means something.
  2. Boot not sealing round bulb properly. Crack in seal between reflector and front glass. (1) and (2).
  3. Humbrol make a metallic black enamel, I think code number 201. It will be available in 15ml pots from most UK model shops, and possibly from blacksmiths and cycle shops.
  4. We have similar but opposite handed markings in the UK.
  5. @Carlston didn't bother to mention this, but the full size data is literally cast (alloys) or stamped (steels) into the wheel rims. For example, "7.5Jx18 ET48 5/112 57.1" is a 7.5inch wide, 18 inch diameter wheel with a 48mm inset, a 5 by 112mm pitch centre diameter and a 57.1 mm diameter centre spigot.
  6. @cello - Ignore @J.R. ; He's written a fantasy based on you having a Fabia mk3 or later. @Breezy_Pete and I are talking about the engine you actually have in this car (1.9 TDi130 Pompe Duze). It's more likely that the thermostat has stuck open or broken up allowing full flow through the radiator even on a cold engine than that it has stuck closed. This is based on your report of a much slower warm-up, and no mention by yourself of engine overheating.
  7. So that was the full "James Bond" failure?
  8. Yes and yes. In fact, you'd need to adjust the linkage after fitting a quick shift anyway.
  9. In a word, "yes". As to eliminating the possibility of "your" receiver receiving someone else's transmission, I think this would require your transmitter to have a different frequency and beam polarity to theirs.
  10. @Radiogaga Have you managed to check all 4 glow plugs when the issue is manifesting? I suspect you may have one plug that goes open circuit at 8C but only at 8C.
  11. Are you that incompetent!? The point is not that signalling is a good or bad habit. The point is that rote signalling to stop the Lane Enforce system activating is a bad habit.
  12. Because, if you have observed properly, you know there is no one there to signal to.
  13. None, as such, but better drivers than I hold the view that making indicating a habit rather than a decided response to actual observation of other traffic (or the lack thereof) is a Bad Thing.
  14. I did, a whole £15.
  15. Similarly, even before ACC was actually a thing at all. In which context I could hold that sort of separation distance for miles at a time without ever even touching the brakes, or actively thinking about use of throttle. I would most likely acquire a tailg!t between towns though...
  16. Absolutely agreed, especially when it's wet and the road has worn into shallow ruts. In this situation you absolutely need to drive to the side of the lane to avoid aquaplaning.
  17. Yes, but you need a specialist compression tester; it will put a "normal" petrol tester through the bonnet!
  18. Ok, If you look top right in this post, there's an ellipsis ("..."); Try clicking on that and see if you get more options than "Report" and "Share".
  19. I don't know if this will help in any way, but I've never had that control, or an automated request that I use it. I suspect it only applies if you are the OP on the topic?
  20. Yes and yes. You could probably get a free battery test from a fast fit place, on the understanding that you buy the battery from them if it needs replacing.
  21. You don't say which engine you have? This is a design feature with some of the more powerful versions.
  22. I did say it probably needed changed, sight unseen...
  23. And this appeals to me in a way that touch screens never will...
  24. My decimal point slipped!
  25. Really? I experimented on a stretch of quiet, dead flat road near my work. Switching the climate control on or off made a difference of 0.1mpg in favour of off, but on a base figure of 45mpg, call it 2%. I can make more of a difference by driving 5mph faster or lower.
