  1. This might seem like a strange question, but does the battery light come on when you first switch the ignition on, and before you start the engine?
  2. My -20 was in Invergarry, and cold enough that 50/50 screenwash froze.
  3. OK, so why don't brake lights stay on when you use the handbrake? By the logic you seem to be applying this should happen.
  4. At the risk of repeating the thunderingly obvious, YOU DON'T KNOW, AND NEITHER DOES ANYONE ELSE, EXACTLY WHAT MAKE AND MODEL TYRES WERE ON THE CAR NEW! The likelihood is that they were "whatever the manufacturer could get, say 10_000 of, cheapest that month".
  5. No pics but I've seen them go to -20C.
  6. You have H7 reversing light bulbs!?
  7. Doesn't that make these vehicles at least possibly LGVs under European laws?
  8. So timed service; with the stated mileage, "ordinary" oil is adequate.
  9. How do you argue that brake lights that go out when you take your foot off the pedal are "defective"?
  10. @Dr. Lovebucket - @Jocko has a point; the only time I ever had to top up PAS fluid there was a leak...
  11. This "won't rev past 3_000" thing; would this be in neutral?
  12. @profcalculus Unless you want to be a fashion victim with a bad back, look for one with "small" (17") wheels, because it rides better.
  13. Report the thread to the moderators with "reason for report" being "wrong forum".
  14. With the aid of an assistant, check whether or not the brake lights work. If none of them do, replace the brake light switch.
  15. Isn't it more of a marmalade colour?
  16. I think this is called "normal design operation", or "kickdown".
  17. Dead elements on the LCD panel. It also won't display 0, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 9 correctly. I'm afraid that repairing the display will mean getting a new panel, so I'd suggest just living with it.
  18. Well, mine visibly broke a rear spring whilst parked!
  19. As a test, try starting in neutral rather than park.
  20. Well, FWIW the last car fire I saw was a V@*xh@11 Firelighter Z@f1r@, and the one before that was a turbo Renault which had a bird build its nest on the turbocharger.
  21. If you can do the last minute or so of the run "off turbo" that should be adequate.
  22. Forget the Porsche motor; it's a complete boat anchor beside a Skoda 120 (or even 130) unit. Look for an Alfasud flat 4 if you want more power and to keep a bit of handling.
  23. There's this stuff called "insulating tape"... We used to regularly use it to partially blank main beam lights, particularly on Fords.
  24. @pikpilot Ok, why did you quote a piece of the OP's text that I quoted as coming from me? So we're 120% clear on this, I meant that the flash pattern probably means something to a specialist.
