  1. The wheels will be sticking out a lot with them tyres on. Even with the 225 35 19 on 8j the wheels come past the tyres.
  2. Every holes a goal.
  3. Is the main play at the wastegate or the actuator, there is another kit you can try. 05e198701a. Can try changing the actuator also this may help. Also use some ceramic grease around the ends where the rod slides over. You could change the bushings but would be a lot of work removing turbo and pressing new parts in.
  4. Yeah you can't get pretty much a full kit now with left and right hand thread for less than 20 quid! Remember them being a fortune years ago.
  5. I have the 1.5 TSI in Octavia combi and it still pulls well for the size of the car so I imagine the fabia and scala feel quite quick. I'm not a fan of automatic gearboxes in general. Probably due to the very expensive repairs if needed. The dsg is a new generation compared to the auto boxes from years ago. Super smooth and quick up and down shifts and very economical.
  6. Has it got any coolant in? Heat coming from the blowers? I doubt it's the thermostat or the pump as it wouldn't warm up that fast even if they were stuck. Sounds like a sensor problem kicking the fans in thinking the car is getting too hot.
  7. I think the tyres are around 36psi for eco and 32 for comfort. Don't think a lot of people will notice the extra 4 psi in terms of comfort tbh.
  8. Nice, they are very delicate hopefully be able to clean them? Make sure your brother is also extra careful and makes sure everything is clean when fitting.

If you put it into D and then push down again it will go into S, sometimes people don't realise and put it S by accident.

  11. Yes you'd have to spray the entire belt, I wouldn't want to just spray part of it.
  12. Check the alternator clutch. Usually can put a screwdriver in and turn it, plastic would be best, if not it's no good. Take the belt off see if the noise disappears then you know it's on the auxillary system.
  13. Any idea why they are the 1.4 engine? Is this the same as the older one? Or a revised engine like the 1.5? Maybe emissions with it being hybrid doesn't effect it as much.
  14. Maybe injector copper washer has failed? Did you fit them yourself? You need to get the mating surfaces spotless and use new washers and bolts. Sometimes I've seen new washers fail.
  15. I'm using 0w20 at the minute, think I may sway to 0w30 in the future. Haven't seen any oil loss yet but I've only done 1000 miles in the car. I'm in the UK so most of the year it's pretty cool and can get cold in the winter. I certainly wouldn't be using it in Australia, I'd go for 5w30 long life 3.
  16. They do say you can use other oils but will have higher emissions.
  17. The only noises I've heard about are camshaft bolts loosening, evap hose and resonator, oil pump noises, injector noise, turbo wastegate/actuator noise. I have fitted the odd water pump too. Have you removed the auxiliary belt to rule out anything there?
  18. It's very hard to tell in the videos, cameras pick up different frequency from the ears.
  19. Just search TSI special lubricant, I'm sure it's just silicone based stuff.
  20. genuine VW/Audi roof lubricant https://amzn.eu/d/0fWi0HbY this may help
  21. There is an aerospace lubricant you can use, allegedly it makes your belts last forever. They use it on aeroplanes. Looks like a white liquid that conditions the rubber.
  22. Yeah it's not easy to find the tpi and service notes tbh. I haven't got access to the data anymore I used to have. I'd suggest using a silicone spray with the top cover off.
  23. Yeah since the particles from the pump go directly to the injectors, as I said you could try get them professionally cleaned and get away with it if they are recent.
