  1. Leaving 1 hour to see if Charging AC would be simply clever. 2 days matters not if not charging immediately. Sh-!t happens, so use your guarantee. Something wrong with car, & with dash / reading, maybe the BCM. battery maybe fine . Just the AC onboard charger needing checked out. 74,000 miles. Hence bargain price. Pity he does not mention battery size of the car. Is it 40kWh? 4x40 would be 160 miles. 3.1 miles a kWh 124 miles. 40kW minus 15 % 34 kWh. x 3.5 miles a kWh. 119 miles. PS, it would be good to have plugged it into a CHAdeMo charger and see if it charges DC, as many a Leaf needs that jolt to get it charging.
  2. @CheshireBumpkin How many miles has your car done, & is it a manual or DSG? When did you fuel up, and do you use E10 or E5 petrol? Not that it should make any difference, but the filling stations should now be getting in Summer formulation petrol where as all winter since late October it has been Winter Formulation. PS, open the Air Filter housing and check the filter. Unless the 'Skoda Assist responder did. Was that an AA person?
  3. The rears moved to the front can be mis-shaped from being on the rear. They might well be worn out soon. So what are the old tyres, size, brand, model. & what are the new rears? No matter all the experts, internet opinions etc etc there is no way i put the new tyres on as rears, (on a FWD car.) especially if they are the originals the car came with and are years old, even if only 3 years old. ?? Are the rears that you have, now fronts the tyres from 2019, or even manufactured 2018?
  4. Being a petrol it has not got a DPF, it is a GPF which regens / cleans in a different way. So off the accelerator. Once hot and running along. Did it actually use 4.56 litres in less than 21 miles or is that what the dash shows?
  5. Lots of Vehicles including BEV,s were manufactured in Hungary & Slovakia using energy that came from Oil & Gas from Russia and in Slovakia & Hungary nuclear from Russian Owned sites in their countries. Oil & Gas delivery currently not happening till when the pipeline is back up flowing.
  6. Fantastic savings at home charging are neither here nor there for us paying from our own income to public charge at whatever tariff the chargers are at and go to. & a 15% VAT reduction is not going to really make much difference. Well not to those that bother about things, and real pence per mile. Anyway, Stay Calm and keep on rolling', it could be worse it could be the start of winter not the end. WWIII is averted, because the USA holds all the cards. Well they thought they did!
  7. The UK is receiving petrol, diesel, kerosene etc produced from Russian oil right now, refined in other middle east, far east, Asian countries. That is what is probably what going to become short as others get first dibs on it. Sir Keir and government are playing at 3 Monkeys.
  8. It is not just a 30 second press of the accelerator. But say what DSG you have. & best not mess about if there are issues. Get a proper reset with the car plugged in. As to the DQ200 DSG,s earlier than recent ones, there is 'Dynamic Driving'. Really the DQ200 can LEARN. Especially some sales car that has been going no place far for weeks. Or a car your friend / partner, anyone drove then feels crap.
  9. It can with some DSG of different eras. DQ200,s. The thing is if you have a car, then try it and tell us if you notice any difference.
  10. It is a very ickle decrease in the gas tariff. But mony a mickle maks a muckle. The thing is my heating is now off totally till maybe September or even October. Next winter maybe OK with my fixed tariff, just as long as the provider can actually keep the Gas flowing and the electricity on...
  11. @lol-lol Where you get your prices to quote i have no idea. My Eon next Day tariff is going from 32.71 pence a kWh to 29.27 If the 9.5 pence night goes down to 7.12 pence a kWh that will be wunderba.
  12. There are enough dealerships and workshops, just not enough competent Fitters, Technicians and Master Techs. If Skoda actually did not release vehicles with faults like with the Software, & the PDI,s were done properly then there would be less WARRANTY returns. Then the Service Desk Staff are more interested in UPSELLLING than getting vehicles in Serviced competently and the jobs that need doing to a schedule explained to the Customer. But then Service Desk staff and Service Managers have very little knowledge about Servicing and Maintenance and Schedules, recommendations, regimes, guidelines, etc.
  13. @Scrounger No i am not waiting on a home charger. This is my 3rd EV with a small battery. First EV i did 60,000 miles for £500 using Public Chargers because most of Scotland was free. When i did start charging at home it was only a 32 kWh battery so some free or cheap charging and 7 hours offpeak Eon Next and maybe the odd hour at 30 pence or less a kWh. Now on 6 hours Offpeak and 9.5 pence a kWh. 3 nights charging after trips, or charge cheap locally on a Public charger if i need a full battery. Or just pay standard tariff for a few hours.
  14. No idea about your car or your 3 pin lead. (I do not call it a charger as the AC charger is in the car.) So if the lead is set at 7 or 10 amps i get 1.6-2.1 kWh and at 16 amps near 2.3 kWh. I set at 10 amps though if plugging in at home.
  15. & it is not just 1.4 TSI,s. 1.2TSI,s as well, and threads in the Mk3 Fabia, Rapid, Kodiaq.
  16. I will see pretty soon just how much the new fixed tariff for 6 hours offpeak @ 9.5 pence a kWh & the standard tariff drops in April.
  17. @lol-lol As i posted, that is you and that is Octopus. I understand that. But you posted Home EV charging coming down 20%.. Well maybe, could be, might be, for some.
  18. There was a UK DVSA Critical Safety Recall on 2014 VW Polo. Possible fuel leak, but that was Filter Canister i think, and not called for the fire risk but handling. I suppose liquid fuel on rear tyre / discs....
  19. Sorry, I thought i knew which thread in the Mk3 Fabia section had a post showing the pathetic reply the DVSA give, but my memory failed me, or i am just missing it.
  20. @lol-lol Are we to take because your tariff is dropping by that then every other EV drivers home charging tariff is dropping the same with who ever their provider is? I think not so you are posting a falsehood. Maybe stick to The Truth about electric cars and not just your electric cars.
  21. Is it still driving and going well 12 years on? Or has someone punted it because it is going wrong?
  22. Its is XDS+ on the Octavia. It was XDS on the Fabia mk2 vRS and maybe some other models, then there was an upgrade.
  23. If you have to plug in and get 15 kWh @ 65 pence that is £9.75 to get maybe 40-50 miles. So maybe some that can charge at lower costs, home, depot, overnight public at cheaper tariffs might. 15 x 30 pence £4.50. @lol-lol I am looking for an estate. Will look see Corolla,s. I had one decades ago that was an Import from Middle East. Champagne Gold with brown velour.
  24. @lol-lol Are they actually plugging in and charging them before and during shifts? Taxi drivers will use any old crap if they running costs, lease, daily / weekly costs look low.
  25. Just needs a charger giving out what it can and not affected by ambient temps low or very high or grid or transmission issues, and vehicles battery at optimum 30*oC or what ever.
