  1. Pity the Cam belt was not done then. Did the place you have the quote from now do the water pump?
  2. If they are doing the cambelt and water pump i would say go for it. If they are not suggesting the water pump at the same time then walk away. Is the service Oil & filter, pollen filter, air filter, fuel filter, brake fluid. Then the whole thing a bargain IMO. The Cam Belt and water pump was a 5 year / 50,000 mile schedule item. Fantastic if never done and all well, no water pump failure.
  3. Appropriate tyres fitted. Even with all the electronics functioning if legal in the UK one would not behave like that on the OEM tyres the car would have fitted when delivered in the UK.
  4. If a 7 kW charger is giving 6.6 kW then 66 kW takes 10 hours, and 89 kW will be maybe 14 - 15 hours. If 7 hours Cheap tariff and actually getting 7 kW then that is 49 kWh.s charged.
  5. Changing the Water Pump is purely the Driver / Owners / Keepers choice when getting the Cam Belt replaced on a 1.5 TSI ACT. Those paying even £1,250 at a main dealership are not getting the water pump replaced unless asking and paying that additional cost.
  6. The TSI,s get the Catalytic Converter up to temp quickly, and also the GPF, as designed to, even though it might be several miles before the oil ever gets to the efficient operating temp and this being well behind the coolant is up to temp.
  7. Thanks. I pre-condition EV,s regardless of still plugged in or not if the weather / cabin is cold enough. I have been driving EV,s for 5 winters now and the range drop is never that much if needing to slow down due to road conditions. Then i am getting more regen. All Season Tyres always fitted.
  8. @Scrounger & thank you for that. But can you not say where you are? Do you not pre condition the car while it is still plugged in when you can. Heating the cabin and deicing the screen. The heated screen uses very little for the few minutes required if that, and the heated seats are not using much energy.
  9. @Scrounger Yes it is winter, but where are you North West England or Scotland and is that the region you drive in. If it only does 3 miles in this years winter conditions that is pretty poor for when there is proper cold weather.
  10. @Scrounger If the 79 kWh usable battery Elroq shows only 240 mile range that is it calculating on just over 3 miles a kWh. How far have you actually driven it before charging again. Are you really having that cold weather where you drive? What sort of miles per kWh does it show when it is not that cold?
  11. West End Skoda Edinburgh are no better sadly.
  12. Probably not the clutch but the Low miles has not meant plenty others having failures. @ronanh_ Where are you in Scotland and which Arnold Clark dealership is it? Probably best avoided. The clue being the Sign on the building. ARNOLD CLARK.
  13. @Deadwood Are your oil level checks at Normal Operating temperature, so an Indicated 90*oC or so & after a few minutes stopped on the flat after the engine is turned off? As the oil level should be checked. Then when stone cold the level can be compared.
  14. @dsgman If you had just said you used to be @super717 . I remember your posts well and what you said Skoda told you.
  15. What engine has your car? My fear would be getting an at least 12 year old gearbox that might be no better & fitting that. Where about are you?
  16. If the oil is too diluted by Derv / Diesel which is also Oil that is not a good thing. (How VW Group used to cheat the NEDC in Audi, VW. Seat diesels...Dilute the engine oil.) You will see soon enough that the Diesel in the Oil will not Burn off. Change the OIl & filter IMO.
  17. For UK roads, 60 mph NSL,s, 70 mph max speed on some roads, usually without much bends and corners. This is real world not parallel universe driving stuff where trips are done like in a Road Rally, Gumball / Cannonball etc. Family / Taxi sized cars.
  18. There are surely others like me that are hopeless using their left hand on Screens in the centre of a dash. Also that sit far back from the pedals and are comfortable, but do not have long arms and fingers that car reach a touch screen without leaning forward and having to divert their eyes to the screen. Personally i like an i-drive type controller to my left where it can easily be used and set or adjust stuff on a centre screen or one right in front of the steering wheel on the dash or heads up display.
  19. In the UK Refineries and Depots deliver only Winter spec Petrol & Diesel stating October in Scotland and the North of England and from then going further south & until March.
  20. I do not believe this guff about 36% and 5 minutes if it was even just for Edinburgh & Glasgow. It could be just about true in Dundee for a very fit person that can jog or run. But it is Motability that comes away with this stuff.
  21. With Motability people just need to look at if the vehicle will have them paying the total weekly benefit or with some cheaper cars maybe £60 a week instead of £77.05 (£333.80 a month) and that going up with the benefit increase each of the next 2 years. & if they are choosing a car with Nil advance payment or anything from £300 to £6,000.
  22. @dsgman Is that just the one oil you have changed, so the oil in the gearbox? Your friends service was a good price on a DQ250 for oil & filter.. The DQ200 DSG,s filter is in the MCU so not getting changed unless the MCU is being opened. PS. Concidering Around town, city use being anything hard on a Twin Dry Clutch DSG meaning an Oil change is required is very much a personal belief. Is it Skoda CZ writing to you. Another member said the same but it was the Dealer or UK Customer services. So not really Skoda.
  23. @dsgman Are you going to have a Main Dealership change both oils in a DQ200 DSG?
  24. 80-90%. 84% in 2022. AI and statistics are to be taken with a pinch of salt. Then the % of leased Company Cars in the UK. Or cars that are just being Purchased / Leased to be handed back / traded in in 2-3 years. Salary Sacrifice, Business use, BIK. Looking forward to seeing reports of those that BOUGHT a car on Tick / never never even with 0% finance then buying it with their or borrowed money when the contract is up and then selling it privately making a profit.
  25. @Graham Butcher This would have been perfect for me if i did not have the EV Estate, lovely condition. but it looks like i am getting back the BMW estate as son maybe going abroad.
