  1. I have been caught in serious Fog, so thick that driving on was not safe. I seldom use my Hazard Lights, but never thought that i should upgrade the indicators. Never upgraded rear fog light,s other than on Land Rovers. Never felt the need to upgrade the horn, but then i do not drive a Taxi.
  2. ^^^ Fair enough, but i use Red Rubber Grease where appropriate and reachable. Brake / seals / boots, O-Rings etc etc.
  3. & the 3 year warranty has exclusions. So fit and finish and other things can be limited to 6 months / 6,000 miles. So report issues ASAP, even have them check. & be sure a Technician Road Tests and not a Salesperson or Service Manager. They 'Do not all do that'. If they did they can let you drive one they have as a demonstrator. Also if ' They have never heard of that before', that is because Deaf or Daft, Or first day on the job.
  4. @Binx1310 If white is not so good for fog which is true, is your upgrade just to give you a Chav look driving about, or will you only use them when no other road users about, where nobody can be annoyed, & maybe when you are not able to see with Full Beam on because you have poor eye sight?
  5. The UK Government is not seeing the BIG PICTURE, they seem to be seeing there is those doing well with the BIK for business drivers and those being able to get electricity from Non Public chargers at under 10 pence a kWh or even 30 pence normal tariff, even with VED to pay and 3 pence a mile from 2028. Nothing in it for Private drivers that have to pay as much as running an ICE vehicle & then on top of that the 3 pence a mile penalty.
  6. @lol-lol Plenty chargers in Scotland. Sadly plenty of those not operational or operate at half power or less. £60 plus million of public money thrown the way of Charge Place Scotland, BP, SWARCO and others. Grants to private or public owners of chargers that were supposed to give 2 years free electricity / charging, and many made unavailable. Maintenance of many Council Owned Chargers / Hubs pathetic. Many Public Chargers out of order while 'Employee use EV cars have chargers, just not all the cars being used, so neither are the chargers. Corruption possibly, it will maybe all come out in the wash. PS. Seemingly another £85 million has been allocated to the roll out of the critical EV charging infrastructure in Scotland. Confirmed in Jan 2026 by Fiona Hyslop MSP Scotland's Transport Minister, who is driven about in a Petrol PHEV with faulty charging. Or was when i asked her driver why he was parked in a Charging Bay not Charging at the opening of a New EV Charging hub.
  7. Of the 2 million BEV,s on UK roads there might be many Not so Modern or large battery among the first 0.5 Million first registered and then plenty under 50 kW battery over the years 2010-2026. This is the thing. There are all sorts out and about there Used or even nearly new and new.
  8. @Binx1310 Maybe better to take a picture on a Foggy day or Night to lets us see how they are as fog lights.
  9. Aberdeen City Hydrogen Double Decker fleet has reached the end of the road. The Zero Emissions fleet is being ditched. Not actually dumped in a ditch! They are going over to Electric Busses.
  10. Very very likely. The engine is unwell. So a 1.4 TSI PHEV. Why in limp mode. Spark Plugs / Misfires, Injectors or something else. Even the Turbo Disabled or a couple of cylinder even though not an ACT engine...
  11. Check for the Dust plate. With that corner jacked up spin the wheel and listen for trapped stone. Checking for a broken spring needs more effort. 2 months ago / 630 miles ago means nothing. Things can break any day, even on the way away from a test.
  12. TESLA Supercharger lowest prices at several locations that suit me if near at the time is 28 pence a kWh. @ Perth right beside Perth & Kinross Council 50 kW chargers @ 55 pence a kWh at the same 'off peak' period.
  13. There is a certain amount in a cycle before fault codes for misfires are logged, or before a warning light, or even before a vehicle goes into Limp Mode, maybe even disabling the Turbo.
  14. Figures / statistics for those without Home Charging or Work Place charging will be 100% Public Chargers used. Real world BEV driving for those on one side of the Social Divide.
  15. Vehicles with Misfires can pass a MOT in the UK if the Emissions reading on the machine is within its limits. If not then there would be even less Mk2 Fabia vRS on UK Roads. Plenty have too high readings and a fail, but lots might not have on a Engine Management light and no Logged Fault codes, but have 'Misfires'.
  16. You can be be pretty much stuck paying high Rapid or Ultra Charging prices pretty much all over the country if you do not have 'Subscription rates' or are near TESLA Superchargers. 65 pence and above a kWh even if getting 4.5 miles a kWh is too damn much.
  17. @Phoenixboy Which year of manufacture 1.5 TSI ACT was that one. Do you know which 2 plugs failed. Cylinders that fire all the time or the 2 that are Deactivated / Cylinder on demand? ACT / COD. Clearly some issue, engine management or A.N. Other. Did they do a Software Update as well as replacing the plugs?
  18. UK Government Site Recalls. TSI 2.0 Engine Covers and then PHEV,s. & the SOS.
  19. 4 years / 40,000 miles is the recommendation, guidelines, suggested schedule given by VW Group / Skoda. There is no stipulation / demand that the spark plugs are changed then. But if paying a service Plan or as was MAJOR SERVICE Costs then the Dealership should have been replacing them then. Servicing according to how VW / Skoda showed.
  20. Looking forward to the information from the DVSA / DVLA / Government on Mileage Checks annually and Battery Condition checks and whatever cunning stunts they are going to be coming up with after their 'Public consultations' and discussions with actual Car Dealers / Traders, Garages and Workshops and Manufacturers.
  21. Sadly pretty pathetic stuff with Skoda. Even in the UK the Skoda Recall Action / Service Campaign page can miss actual SAFETY CRITICAL RECALLS that show in the UK.Gov DVLA Recalls site for checking by Reg Number or just vehicle and year. Skoda / VW Group Main Dealers in the UK can even sell Skoda Approved Used cars that have not had Service Campaign, Recall Actions / Workshop actions carried out, or without checking TPI,s. in the UK
  22. It is quite possibly the Alarm Siren Battery needing replaced @ 10 years old. (It is actually an @5 years replacement item back when there were Service Books, pre 2012) So complete unit, or the battery if you can DIY.
  23. You have a TDI so not as likely to go into LIMP MODE but it still can. Do not keep running too long or go far with the Engine / Exhaust Emissions light showing. Get any fault codes read if there are. ?? Has the car been sitting any length of time with engine running / idling? Anything different recently, different filling station / diesel used?
  24. Some people use their cars lots and do many miles and are not going to do Oil & filter services several times a year and need not do. Fuel and Oil with detergents and runs long enough to heat oil, components and not have condensation in the engine. Short trips,.cold start short trips is when Fixed Servicing regimes of Oil & Filter changes are recommended, but in the UK that might still be annual and not done 6 monthly.
  25. @lol-lol The change of circumference of tyres is something done commonly where there are mileage limits on lease cars. Clocking by another means. Something that the DfT / DVSA must well be aware of, but that does not mean that it can be stopped or detected by them and with their resources.
