  1. Wrong sticker then for a 2014 TDI. An oil that VW started using pre WLTP in around 2017/18. The oil then was VW504 00 / 507 00. 507 00 for the TDI Fixed or Variable servicing / oil changes. 5w 30 FS III (Long Life.) Not VW508 00 / 509 00 so 0w 20 FS IV. Some world regions might have been 0w 30 FS III, but ar 12 years old 5w 30 FS III is 'Simply Clever' to use.
  2. Worth remembering that there are people that have come to the likes of BRISKODA in the past asking how they can Disable the TC / ASR and not have to press to disable, (HOLD THE BUTTON A FEW SECONDS.) There are even those that want the ESP disabled. Then there were Mk2 Fabia pre 2012 without TC / ASR that people wanted to activate, add a button, and also ESP was a cost option on some Mk2 Fabia right up til the EU regulations making it compulsory. Long story short. Check what your model has standard or options and still you never know what previous keepers did or did not do, unless you owned from new...
  3. But as seen above, loads of room and even a 215/40 R17 or 205/45 R 17 fits in. AKA Full Size Rims and Tyres as might fit a Fabia, and without the floor sitting higher.
  4. The car does not happen to have Self seal tyres from the likes of Continental fitted does it? Or mouse or tyre weld already in it .? Time to flash the cash and have the wheel off the car and in the water back, or squeezy in water sprayed if not doing youself. It might well be the valve. Always worth over inflating then reducing pressure to see if that seats the bead.
  5. No spare / Space Saver / Saver of Space is identical to the cars tyres unless exactly the same size / profile and wheel size / width. They are there or there abouts. Even a brand new matching wheel / tyre unused when put on is not identical to a 10,000 mile tyre that is on the car. steel wheel and narrower tyre
  6. 'Simply Clever' or Vorsprung Durch Technik might be when Main Dealerships and Skoda say that the Haldex Service is not just an oil change and a clean up or replacing a Screen or Filter is important. & agreeing when Services are due, and this applies also with VAQ diffs.
  7. Tiny amount of oil on a dipstick, and it is the fumes coming off, about as much risk as burning brandy off a plum duff. Engage brain, and if you have not full safety gear and fire step away from naked flames. It is not conclusive, but that does not stop it being a quick test that some Resoponders to breakdowns will do ot Motor Engineers, AKA Mechanics might still carry out. Pre Plug in and read Fault Codes, or No OBD port, as was for decades.
  8. Both need resetting. Oil Service & Inspection. They can and for most should be set to be at the Same Time. Not Service Fixed and Inspection still on Variable / Flexible, or vice versa.
  9. As to Electronic Management. Owners Manual getting unstuck. Snow Chains on etc. Turn off TC / ASR with many vehicles. Northern Europe / Scandinavian Drivers often want to know how to disable the ESP / ESC etc etc. As to XDS / XDS+ and hot weather / sporting driving and the brake system disables it as the system / brake fluid over heats
  10. As many drivers of these 4x4,s Part Time 4x4,s Softroaders that were going no place fast last week in the North East of Scotland know, get the proper tyres. Plenty were shown up by small light city cars or even bigger ones with FWD or RWD and no Snow Modes or Offroad modes but actual traction.
  11. When a petrol cars is diluting the oil with petrol or you suspect it is there are samples to take, test etc. Or as many might do, DIP THE OIL, take the dip stick away from the car, and use a match or lighter to move a flame near the oil on the dip stick. Petrol in Oil usually will burn. try just fresh oil and a naked flame near and see.
  12. The wheels and tyres on the car now will fit in the spare tyre well. Well one will. Take one off the car and try.... If you have a spare and a full car and need to change the spare the tyre off the car should go in there flat or not. Loads and loads of threads in this section asking about Spare Wheels / Tyres. worth doing searches sometimes.
  13. Skoda Servicing is Air Filter @ 6 years / 60,000 miles. & many do not even check it. Pollen / Cabin Filter is every 2 years. So if the Air Filter and the Pollen Filter get changed every 3 years then good. Nest if normal Servicing had the Air Filter looked at every service.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Txw0kfqPsGc I could not link, but if you can not find the vid then maybe do not rune your 1.6 diesel Fabia.
  15. Suzuki fiitted Bridgestone Duellers for decades and still do, even to the Jimny,s. Totally crap tyres. VW Group really seem to just fit whatever is cheap to them from whoever for the UK. Even to proper 4x4,s not just Softroaders.
  16. Motability do not Spec the cars Customers order and lease. Skoda UK offer with whatever Advance Payment the vehicles they are keen to get First Registered . Some can be bought cheaper than others by Motability from Skoda to lease. They are almost certain to be offering models with Front parking sensors or camera & rear camera. The tyres fitted will be just as fitted at the factory and part of the lottery any UK customer might get in the way of tyres. Now if the tyres are replaced at KwikFit while under lease different tyres might get fitted, and maybe what the customer wants if Motability approve. Or like my cars from Motability the car is handed back with the tyres i fitted on the rims, so that is All Seasons.
  17. Re Manufacturers warranty to December 2028. Previous Keeper (maybe owner had it 9 months.) Did it have an Extended Warranty for 4 years when first registered. ?
  18. @PetrolDave Sorry brain fart / my lack of knowledge. Why are they suggesting replacing the chain? & why £2,000 ?
  19. @Diyer Just nosy but what is the story on the immobiliser being eliminated / disabled?
  20. Your speedo is already over reading. The difference is just a ba;s hair. The new tyres might if you put a tape measure around the circumference be the same as worn tyres.
  21. It might well feel that it is the DQ200 7 speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG, and if it is then that is a big problem. BUT, Quite possibly the 1.5TSI ACT engine though causing the behaviour. That is something the Master Tech might be checking.
  22. @scubasad You never mentioned that cambelt change in this thread. So what engine has the car and how old? I see the 138,000 miles covered. EDIT / PS. now i see in another thread. ??? Is it a 2.0 TDI then?
  23. Surely making a TDI quieter is 'Simply clever'.
  24. No idea sorry. But is what engine / engine size relevant. So a TSI or a TDI. What age and engine are you considering?
  25. Nice. Your car so why bother what others think. Personally i require a rear wiper because of road conditions / weather.
