Another Battery post
I've had the same issues with my 718 Boxster, easier to see the battery volts as it's shown on the dash display. I'd been trying to charge it over last winter with a CTEK , but charger was dropping out, wouldn't go to charge/maintain. Car would start okay, volts with ignition on was 12V and dropping when started. It would generally sit at over 15V when driving. It turned out that the -ve connection between Ctek & chassis was high resistance so CTEK was getting a bit confused! Remade the chassis connection and now all okay, no further issues with the battery a year on. Car isn't used a great deal sadly but I do notice if the battery is a bit low the alternator voltage is higher than normal. I'd keep it charged for a while, loads on the batteries are high at this time of year so probably struggling to keep topped up. Remember to use a chassis earth not the -ve post of the battery! As KennyR has said, these cars disconnect the alternator when it thinks it's got enough charge. I remember when I first got the 718, I was driving down the M1 and the battery voltage was dropping😲 A bit further down the road, the rain came down- so lights & wipers on - then the charge voltage went back to normal 13-14V

Rear brake disc and pad question
My first Superb was built in 2016. Rear discs looked horrid after a year or so, so got the Skoda garage to replace them. It was a lease car so no idea if it was charged or warranty, second ones didn't suffer the same issue.

Sport Mode
Sport on the gearbox only (ie just the shift selector moved to sport), the gearbox will hold onto gears for longer and change down quicker. Sport with mode select- same for gearbox but additionally better throttle response and steering weights up.

Myskoda app lock/unlock
I carried out a little test yesterday, sent destination via web portal, the destination didn't appear on my car until I'd connected it to my phones wifi hotspot. The car was parked overnight in Buckingham, drove back to my home in Milton Keynes this morning without it connected to data and it shows as parked on my driveway. There must be inbuilt data conenction for basic functions.

Myskoda app lock/unlock
The car has an inbuilt data connection. I can request defect reports from mine while it's locked on the driveway and not connected to any external wifi/data connection. I get up to date info when it hasn't been connected to anything. The cars also have the SOS button that works without external data connections In terms of sending routes etc, it needs an external date source ie an additional sim card in the slot in the glovebox or a wifi hotspot (I use my iphone)

Question on Apply CarPlay and telephone control - Is this correct?
correct

Question on Apply CarPlay and telephone control - Is this correct?
The phone acts as a hotspot for the live services- traffic, weather, parking etc Still use bluetooth for the phone.

Question on Apply CarPlay and telephone control - Is this correct?
It's because you can't connect via bluetooth to the phone while using CarPlay..... it's a software license issue. I very rarely use Carplay, prefer to use my phone as a wifi hotpsot. I can then use the integrated satnav (with very good traffic data)

Sat Nav update
I thought they were only free for 3 years??

Remote opening of boot
Don't keep the keys in your pocket?? I've never had it happen to me, put I do keep the keys in a key signal blocker. Keyless cars are easy to steal!!!!! The range for the key is probably a few metres - unless you hold it against your head!

Superb MK3 Headlight Distance
I had the same issue with my first Superb in 2016, I had optional Xenon lights fitted. Range was poor, bordering on dangerous. The light beam should change with speed, it is easy to see this. They would do the startup dance and turned left/right. The dealer (master tech at a main dealer) didn't hve a clue about how the lights work. All they appeared to do (I watched the dashcam footage) was plug the car in to the diagnostic computer and then they worked.

Alarm Going Off.
The interior monitoring is very sensitive! Mine has gone off when the National Trust sticker fell off the windscreen

Skoda Connect / Infotainment Online
I use my phone as a wifi hotspot and pay extra for the connected services. The satnav traffic is very good, probably the same as Google traffic. My 2019 Sportline PLus has a sim card slot, I used it for a year with a data only sim card, now just use my phone. The cars location services, emergency help etc seem to be built into the car so work without an external sim/data connection?

Fuel tank
I put 66.59ltr in my 2019 1.5TSi sportline last week, fuel warning light was on. Range was claiming 40miles left

New Map Update available.
I did mine yesterday. Downloaded with Firefox, unzipped to 32GB SD card. Inserted into slot 1 (doesn't seem to find it on slot 2?) I think the update took about 30-40mins Car still works

Dog crate and roof rails for a 17 plate Superb MkIII Estate?
I've got a 50kg German Shepherd dog, if I was unfortunate to have an accident, I wouldn't want him flying about in the car!
-
Dog crate and roof rails for a 17 plate Superb MkIII Estate?
Nope, screen on back seat is held in place by a rod that attaches to the rear seat anchor point, divider part has feet that push on floor and roof. There is a fitting guide on the link I sent

Dog crate and roof rails for a 17 plate Superb MkIII Estate?
Does it have to be a cage/crate?? I've got one on these from https://www.travall.co.uk/skoda/superb-estate-2015--/safety-pack-tdg1495-tdg1495d

auto hold question
nope, that's the stop-start function

Active cylinder management?
As I said, all the roundabouts cripple the mpg! On longer runs I get high 40s but having only had it since June last year, there hasn't been many of them
-
Active cylinder management?
Mine is okay, not going to set the world alight but quick enough. If I was frequently carrying many people and luggage, I'd get a diesel. I average 36mpg in mine, all the roundabouts in Milton Keynes cripple the mpg!

Running-in dilemma from owners prospective
The running in period will help the brake pads & discs bed in as well, not just the engine
