Seems this thread has got owners of both Amundsen (Kachaka) and Columbus (DanielIPT) posting in it - which is very confusing!!!

Two separate Toyota dealers have allowed me to drive a demonstrator during lockdown (just bring it back within an hour they said), didn't even ask for the keys of my car.

For the MIB1 & MIB2 map updates are twice a year according to the Skoda Update portal (weeks 25 and 45), can't comment on MIB3 map updates though... https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/

If you have an Amundsen then you MUST use a genuine Skoda SD card for the maps, the Amundsen (MIB1 and MIB2) will not recognise any other SD cards as map cards.

That's a silly restriction in the built-in Windows format program not actually required by FAT32 (which can support drives up to 16TB IIRC), so I use a third party SD formatter program.

I format the SD card I use to FAT32, but I don't think that will make any difference. Do the files that don't play have any 'unusual' characters in the file names, or have unusually long file names? Re artist pictures - some ripping programs embed the album art in the MP3 files. I use Windows Media Player which doesn't so I add them using a program called MP3tag.

Corrected that for you - with smaller wheels the tyre profile usually needs to be larger (it's specified as a percentage of tyre width) to maintain the overall tyre diameter. The general 'rule of thumb' is that it should be within 2% of the original. There are plenty of online tyre calculators which will allow a comparison between the original wheel/tyre size and those being considered, I usually use this one

Their assumption seems to be that nobody will use their nav since "everyone has a smartphone" and hence will use either Google or Apple Maps?

Same here. On my RS4 the PS4s were the only tyres that gave good wet & dry grip without a harsh ride and lasted more than 15,000 miles.

As pab567 says the files are exactly the same, so there's nothing to be gained.

I thought I'd 'scripted my V8 itch' when I got an Audi B6 S4 (4.2 V8) in 2003 but when the B7 RS4 came out in 2006 I had to have one. The S4 was too 'nice' and only made 'delicate' V8 sounds but the RS4 in Sport with the exhaust valves open, with a non-resonated Milltek exhaust and a remap sounded like I wanted a V8 to sound. Sadly retirement in 2016 meant the fuel bills of the RS4 were no longer affordable (22mpg average) hence the Octavia!

That's not my experience, none of the PDF documents I have downloaded from erWin are locked in any way and are openable using all the PDF readers I have tried.

@Klario - please can you use a smaller text size, your messages are so long they scroll off to the right and are a PITA to read.

If there's no way to see the tyre pressures and temperatures then it's 99% likely to be the ABS wheel speed based TPMS - and if those can't be seen even with a diagnostic tool then it's 100%. I say 99% because an Audi B7 RS4 I used to own had sensor based TPMS but didn't show pressures/temperatures on either the infotainment or the instruments (Audi couldn't be bothered to write firmware).

Depends how much pressure the SMMT and car manufacturers put on the UK Government.

When I worked at an automotive consultancy we developed some engine tunes for Brazilian E80 fuel, so one of the pumps we had on-site was for E80 fuel.

Just to add that not all direct systems report pressures on each tyre or report which tyre has low pressure. My previous car (an Audi B7 RS4) had direct TPMS with pressure and temperature sensors in 4 wheels, but like all B7 Audis there was no means of seeing the pressure or temperature of each wheel on either the entertainment system or the instruments - you had to use a diagnostic tool like VCDS. How come? Because Audi didn't add the firmware into either the entertainment system or the instruments to display the TPMS data, so all you got was a tyre pressure warning symbol on the instruments.

I've use E10 fuel once in our 2015 Octavia Elegance 1.4TSI estate when we were on holiday in France, about 50 miles after filling up the MIL came on. On checking with my VCDS cable (never go on holiday without it) the lambda sensor had reported an error - cleared it and it didn't come back? Didn't fill up with E10 again after that - glad that by the time E10 is in the UK the Octavia will be SWMBOs problem not mine.

If the battery is the same type (EFB or AGM) then all you should change is the serial number (just change one digit, the actual number is unimportant).
