OBDeleven ?
It could be a long wait - VAG have implemented something called SFD which means that some coding & adaptation changes can only be made once a token has been sent from the VAG servers - which third party diagnostic tools like VCDS/OBD11 etc. cannot be. See this for an explanation. BTW they have also implemented on some vehicles a requirement to open the bonnet/hood to be able to make some coding/adaptation changes.

Do I have a fake?
You need to transfer ownership of the cable to yourself, then you will be able to become a verified member on the Ross-Tech forum and post in any of their public forums.

New Software Glitch FFS!
Before I retired I spent over 35 years developing software and firmware and have seen testing methods change dramatically over that period - at the cost of quality. The worst aspects IMHO are the trend to the designer/implementer writing their own test scripts (inevitably using their same assumptions of how the software should work, hence making the testing verging on useless) and the loss of the 'Chinese Wall' philosophy where testing is done by an independent team making their own assumptions not sharing those of the developer/implementer. IMHO the current dreadful quality of the software/firmware on the Golf 8, Octavia 4, etc. is an inevitable consequence of this lack of independent testing and the adoption of methods such as Agile.

Infotainment lost sat reception
In the meantime you can select the split screen option and choose the GPS option, this will show how many satellites are being seen - if that's zero then you have a proble with either the GPS antenna, the cabling to it or the GPS receiver in the Amundsen.

Do I have a fake?
Bertie90 posted an Auto-Scan on the Ross-Tech forum made with the cable & software he purchased - that was checked by Ross-Tech (specifically Uwe Ross the owner and founder) who was able to clearly and caegorically tell that the software had been hacked to work with a clone cable. So it's not a previously registered problem, the cable is a fake - period. Bertie90 needs to contact eBay and tell them he's been sold an illegal copy and wants them to refund him under their buyer protection scheme. BTW Ross-Tech don't completely block access to "pirates" only limit their access to certain sections of their forum.

Skoda Electric Models
The entry level model that they expect to never sell - the oldest trick in the book of car marketing!

Do I have a fake?
That's what is needed for Ross-Tech to know if it's genuine or not - and since you're already posting on their forum there really is no point posting here as well! Bottom line - if the boss/founder of Ross-Tech, Uwe Ross, says it's a fake I've never known him be wrong

KPH/MPH
... only small patches are OTA, full updates have to be done in the workshop and can take a considerable time (some have reported several hours).

Bletooth media not playing on columbus
Use Apple music via CarPlay - this is what I do on my non-Skoda car.

What's the belt driven device below the alternator?
Aircon compressor.

What Android App is best for use as Satnav with Smartlink?
Google maps with offline maps of your choice? Even though I have an iPhone and use CarPlay I use Google Maps because of the offline maps option which Apple maps doesn't offer.

Would those rims fit on my octavia?
That's not true - in some markets the vRS is offered with 19" wheels.

Cambelt due for changing, but low mileage
Which is why there has been much debate on here as to why Skoda UK 'recommend' that the cambelts are changed every 5 years - no other VAG importer appears to 'recommend' this interval and Skoda UK have never been forthcoming with a 'good reason' so the cynics suggest it's just a revenue generating opportunity for UK Skoda dealers! But if a UK Skoda owner wants any possibility of a 'goodwill' contribution in the event of a catastrophic cambelt failure then not changing it at 5 years would be a major factor.

Would those rims fit on my octavia?
A quick Google finds many 5x112 to 5x120 adapters (many on eBay and Amazon) BUT they are also spacers of 15 or 20mm - so that needs to be taken into account when looking at the ET.

WiFi (MiFi) keep losing connection.......
Right; so you don't have WiFi, you have mobile internet - which means all the thoughts about WiFi standards issues don't apply. Which mobile network do you use (O2, Vodafone, EE, etc.)?

WiFi (MiFi) keep losing connection.......
The router is the thing that plugs into your phone line and generates the WiFi signal.

It has to be unzipped first.

Cambelt due for changing, but low mileage
I can only recall seeing one member on here with a 1.4TSI having reported a water pump failure - there is no comparison with the water pump failure rate on the 2.0, and since the water pump is on the opposite end of the engine replacing it is a much simpler/cheaper/quicker job. I'm all for preventative maintenance (which is why I had the cambelt on our 1.4TSI replaced last year when it was 5 years old) but since the failure rate of water pumps on the 1.4TSI is so low the expense of preventative replacement seems out of proportion to the risks to me.

Cambelt due for changing, but low mileage
Agreed on a 2.0TSI but on the 1.4 & 1.5 TSI the water pump is on the other end of the engine and not driven by the cambelt.

A British adventurer plans to drive an EV truck from Pole to Pole
How's he going to "drive an EV truck from Pole to Pole" when there is no direct land bridge connecting the two Poles? Are they going to attach the EV truck to a boat (of some kind) powered from the EV truck (either directly from the batteries or driven from the wheels via rollers)? If they cross the water sections powered by anything other than the EV truck then they haven't driven "an EV truck from Pole to Pole" as advertised IMHO.

WiFi (MiFi) keep losing connection.......
W10 has a habit of setting by default the option to power down the WiFi if it hasn't been used for a period, worth searching out that option and making sure it's not ticked.

WTF Is happening System Gliches
So what happens if you are in a mobile 'not spot' so the MIB3 is unable to contact the factory servers? The assumption that the car will always be in a place where there is mobile coverage is invalid - even on the car deck of a ferry there is unlikely to be mobile coverage.

S/S inactive, and Moll Electrolyte indicator
Probably worth having a look at CTEK chargers as they can safely be left connected to EFB or AGM batteries.
