Which is why there has been much debate on here as to why Skoda UK 'recommend' that the cambelts are changed every 5 years - no other VAG importer appears to 'recommend' this interval and Skoda UK have never been forthcoming with a 'good reason' so the cynics suggest it's just a revenue generating opportunity for UK Skoda dealers! But if a UK Skoda owner wants any possibility of a 'goodwill' contribution in the event of a catastrophic cambelt failure then not changing it at 5 years would be a major factor.

A quick Google finds many 5x112 to 5x120 adapters (many on eBay and Amazon) BUT they are also spacers of 15 or 20mm - so that needs to be taken into account when looking at the ET.

Right; so you don't have WiFi, you have mobile internet - which means all the thoughts about WiFi standards issues don't apply. Which mobile network do you use (O2, Vodafone, EE, etc.)?

The router is the thing that plugs into your phone line and generates the WiFi signal.

I can only recall seeing one member on here with a 1.4TSI having reported a water pump failure - there is no comparison with the water pump failure rate on the 2.0, and since the water pump is on the opposite end of the engine replacing it is a much simpler/cheaper/quicker job. I'm all for preventative maintenance (which is why I had the cambelt on our 1.4TSI replaced last year when it was 5 years old) but since the failure rate of water pumps on the 1.4TSI is so low the expense of preventative replacement seems out of proportion to the risks to me.

Agreed on a 2.0TSI but on the 1.4 & 1.5 TSI the water pump is on the other end of the engine and not driven by the cambelt.

How's he going to "drive an EV truck from Pole to Pole" when there is no direct land bridge connecting the two Poles? Are they going to attach the EV truck to a boat (of some kind) powered from the EV truck (either directly from the batteries or driven from the wheels via rollers)? If they cross the water sections powered by anything other than the EV truck then they haven't driven "an EV truck from Pole to Pole" as advertised IMHO.

W10 has a habit of setting by default the option to power down the WiFi if it hasn't been used for a period, worth searching out that option and making sure it's not ticked.

So what happens if you are in a mobile 'not spot' so the MIB3 is unable to contact the factory servers? The assumption that the car will always be in a place where there is mobile coverage is invalid - even on the car deck of a ferry there is unlikely to be mobile coverage.

Probably worth having a look at CTEK chargers as they can safely be left connected to EFB or AGM batteries.

You need to separate the causes of noise: 1) petrol engines create less vibration and noise than diesel engines so create less engine related boom, BUT... 2) road and wind noise are not dependent on the engine type so when road and/or wind generated noise are at least 3dB louder than engine induced noise the engine type is irrelevant.

Easy to say until you get stopped for some other reason and the PC's take a look round the vehicle, if they spot blue lights they will metaphorically 'throw the book at you' and check EVERYTHING else (tyres, MOT, insurance, driving licence, penalty points, etc.). Not worth the risk IMHO.

Not true, many (most?) people on here mod their cars - BUT legally, which blue lights showing most definitely is not. While that's true we are not representative of most buyers (who tend not to join owners forums) and for them ANY mods will stop them buying. I guess it all boils down to whether you want the best chance to sell or are prepared to wait for an enthusiast buyer to come along?

Not necessarily true - my 2015 Elegance has headlight washers but has Halogen headlights. How come? - the headlight washers were an option that the original purchaser specified.
