OK, with that information and knowing that the middle light doesn't come on with the switch in either on or switched positions it sounds like either the bulb is blown (check with a multimeter) or volts aren't getting to the bulb due to contact problems - time to get the multimeter out and do some tracing.

When you can achieve that and rely on there being a charger available when & where you need it EVs will become a viable alternative instead of being only of minority interest.

Neither the new MySkoda nor the ConnectLite (for those of us who cannot use MySkoda any longer) has the service history - I've raised this with Skoda CZ who passed me back to Skoda UK whose response is less than convincing: I'm sorry but IMHO removing it isn't acceptable as that's the best way most owners have of accessing the service history. If anyone else feels the same way then I suggest more of you complain to Skoda UK about the loss of the service history from the apps, the email address is [email protected]

We leave our 1.4 TSI in Individual mode, with Sport selected for the engine, and consistently get 45mpg in mixed driving - no large towns near where we live so can't answer what we get in urban driving! I did try other engine modes but the difference they made to mpg was negligible so opted for staying in Sport mode.

Speaking personally I find SPOTY not worth watching any more, and the silly business with Tyson Fury has just added to that impression. VW have changed the date of the MIB1 Amundsen update on their website, but it's still the same version 94 content from June 2020 - sneaky so-and-so's The Skoda Portal is still showing the same old update from June 2020, but at least they haven't 'fudged' the date to make it look like a new update like VW have

Either you've been very unlucky or I've been very lucky - I too have a 1.4TSI (140) Elegance, built in April 2015, and have done just under 50,000 miles with no WG problems.

Remember that the Model Year change happens in around July/August, so a car built after August 2020 will almost certainly be a 2021 model. The only way to be sure is to check the VIN against a VIN decoder.

Have you tried putting the mirror switch to L? I'm wondering if the instructions have been written for a LHD car?

No, VAG (Skoda) have changed the message lengths used by many of the modules and it's no longer possible to make the HEX-CAN communicate with those just with software updates. You need either a HEX-V2 or a HEX-NET, and can either use an upgrade option or sell your HEX-CAN on an auction website (which I did earlier this year).

I very much doubt it, things that are actively discussed on here are often said by Skoda CS to be "not a common problem"

Nice thought but ... 1) the Audi SD cards are software write locked (so far no method I've found using Google will unlock them) - DIskpart says it has unlocked it but it hasn't 2) the dealers say they don't have access to the files on the Audi/VAG servers - which makes sense because Audi's pricing model is that you buy a new card every 6 months

My understanding of full matrix LED headlights is that they use the sensor(s) to automatically adjust the beam pattern (my turning on/off elements in the LED matrix) taking into account oncoming traffic and traffic ahead - which would mean that HBA has no meaning/relevance with full matrix LED headlights. But HBA works on the Halogen and Bi-Xenon headlights on the Octavia 3, so there's no apparent technical reason why it shouldn't be possible on the Octavia IV. Maybe this is another example of upselling?

That 'fault' is usually just information that after the software update the final step of confirming that a software update has taken place hasn't been correctly performed, it's not actually a fault.

Did you delete the existing maps, then copy the unzipped files from the new download? The amount of free space on the card seems far too much for there to be even the smallest maps on it???

Sounds like the map file you've downloaded isn't the right one? If there's 14.8GB left on the card that means only 1.2GB is used ? Did you enter the VIN into the Skoda Portal?

Maybe they are in France where @timbazlives?
