  1. Owning a camper van only makes some sort of financial sense if you use it at least once a month for weekends away, maybe alone or at a club (e.g. Caravan Club) meet, as well as for main holidays, half-terms, etc.
  2. I would have thought that the specs for the Octavia II and Octavia III would be different. Worth going back and pointing out the error to them?
  3. I fitted those 4 years ago (with extra washers) and they are still working great.
  4. The printout says Octavia II specs have been used, but presumably you have an Octavia III?
  5. If the MOT tester thinks the cat has been removed and (maybe or, not 100% sure) the emissions don't meet the limits for a cat-fitted car then it will fail.
  6. I well remember sleeping in the roof bunk of a Commer Dormobile and waking up in the morning to see ice on the inside of the pop-up roof above my bunk! For me good insulation (possibly double glazed windows), a fire, a hob, a chemical loo (with a separate waste tank not an all-in-one) and a solid roof (probably a high top) are the essentials in a camper van.
  7. I can recommend the NC500 having done it twice in a camper van - the scenery is awesome!
  8. If you only have those options then you cannot change the ESC mode. My 1.4 Elegance didn't use to have the option for ESC Sport so I changed the coding of the ABS module with VCDS to add them, al I had to do was change byte 29 of the ABS coding from 02 to 09. I now have 3 options: ESC On, ASR Off & ESC Sport.
  9. Definitely agree with the advice to hire first so you can work out what YOU need in terms of space and facilities. I started out in the mid-1970s with a Commer Dormobile but soon got frustrated with the lack of space and lack of loo facilities so gradually upgraded via an Auto-Sleeper Talisman (luton style coach built) to eventually a Hymer S650 (A class) as we wanted all the creature comforts and ability to use it year round.
  10. They will likely ask you to post a picture of the cable showing the serial number - would be good to post the picture here too.
  11. When we lived in Southampton I always used to take not only our Skodas but also my Audi RS4 to Abtech AVSS http://www.abtechavssltd.com/ who are based in Totton.
  12. I think many people would be happy if you could post a short How-To guide
  13. The sat nav pronounces road numbers like Americans would, hence the A one hundred twenty three etc. - it did this on my previous Audi too, so I've just got used to this "foible". Place names are pronounced phonetically not as locals would, other examples I know of that are pronounced very strangely are Bicester and Fareham.
  14. That's Android Auto - on MIB2 infotainment systems which were factory fitted to cars made after May 2015.
  15. Hope it's got a genuine "Quartic" steering wheel
  16. Access to a module is different to being able to change coding As I said there is NO CODING (look at your Auto-Scan there is no line for coding in 09), all changes have to be made via 10 Adaptation. Try looking at the stickies at the top of the Octavia III forum on here, you will find threads about changes that can be made to FL models like yours.
  17. Some do but not all, for those you need to be able to add then from e.g. USB stick (as you could on the Octavia III).
  18. What was the expiry date on the "new" batteries? It's pretty common on here for owners to report fitting "new" batteries and them not working - it appears that the "new" batteries have a high internal resistance and even though their open circuit voltage looks OK they are unable to supply the current needed to operate the key fob. Get new batteries of a reputable make from another retailer.
  19. Your logs show that you CAN access the BCM at 09 but that it is the newer type that does not use long coding, every setup is by adaptation channels.
  20. Unless they are experts in Skoda MIB radios then no.
  21. Possible, but... you'll need to get Component Protection removed and to get someone to re-enable the features - neither of which is possible with a normal diagnostics tool like OBD11, VCP or VCDS. The experts on here are @SashaGrace and @pab567
  22. They are behind the airbag, so they won't interfere with the airbag
  23. 1. You need a USB-C to SD adapter. 2. ??? 3. Only the Columbus has a hard drive, the Amundsen plays directly from the USB-C (or SD card if you use an adapter as per 1.)
