  1. Cheers AS. I replaced the incandescent boot bulbs with early LED cobs when I got the car; they failed about four months ago and I replaced those with full sealed LED units; no warnings any very bright. I’ve never touched any of the tailgate lights. No, turning on the drivers interior lights doesn’t repeat the warning. Oddly this only happens when the car is moving. PS - I replaced the indicators about a year or so ago with LED’s, but this phenomenon has only just begun.
  2. The car image came up and the tailgate open warning was flashing. Yeah, that’s what I thought. I’ll drop the tray, have a look and give the fuses a shove and see if that fixes it.
  3. During a drive today, my missus opened the storage compartment (glove box) to get a drink and immediately there was a bleeping and warning on the dash. I’ve looked in the handbook and there’s no mention of this safety feature; anyone else noticed this? Forgive me if this has been mentioned before here but AFAICS, I can’t search the S3 forum alone on my phone.
  4. Ahhhh, thanks, AS. So that’s for Lane Assist? I must admit, I’d love LED headlights, however I suspect a Xenon bulb upgrade would be a big help.
  5. 235/40/19W P7’s on ours. May go for 245 when I change them, probably for P7’s again, given they have 3.5mm left and have covered more than 36k.
  6. Seems like a ridiculous amount of cost and work, to provide a vehicle is which now a bit of mess and isn’t going to be reliable. Perhaps you should’ve just imported a 272/280?
  7. With a 120 mile round trip in prospect, it depends on the service cost differential between the dealer and indy I suppose. Personally, now the warranty is out on the 280, I’d never goto a main dealer again, as I’ve never had good service from them since I had our MKI.
  8. Interesting. What additional features come with these new modules and wheel then? Yup, me too.
  9. Wow - that’s some work there! So, where did you get the work undertaken? You had the virtual cockpit and steering wheel fitted too? C’mon then… how much? 😳
  10. Bloody amateurs. Those definitely can be smart repaired, so find a reputable wheel doc with good reviews and send the pics across to them.

  12. Probably an idea to have a passenger listen for the noise to pinpoint its location, sitting in the front and then the back, because driving and trying to isolate the location oneself when you’re driving is practically impossible.
  13. Assumption wrong, but yes, it does practically cover the bumper, but the issue is because once there’s luggage/stuff in the boot, one has to actually remove said luggage/stuff to get access to the fold out bit to unfold it across the bumper. Bit of a cart before horse, which in this case = “hmmmm… simply a bit dumb, that one…”
  14. I have one of those. It’s great but won’t help idiot-brain here from dragging the Missus 80kg case out of the boot and catching the bumper.
  15. A colleague has a plain black one on his combi and it looks OE.
  16. Bloody unlucky there. I think it’d be possible to DIY but I wouldn’t attempt it. I’m guessing it’d be 4-5h job. ApatureS may know as he’s a VAG Tech.
  17. Disconnect the battery for 20 mins and see if that resets it? You’ll have a dash full of warning lights for the first few metres but they’ll slowly disappear as you drive.
  18. That’s what I get driving around town. The very best I have achieved is 38.9 on a 400+ mile drive to Cairnryan. Never bought it for economy though.
  19. Only in this weather do I now appreciate ventilated seats. They realty do keep ones back, bum and neither regions lovely and cool!
  20. I dream of 40mpg! 😂
  21. I’m able to make and receive calls on our MIB2 when CarPlay is initiated. However, I do not like the interface and do not use it by choice.
  22. Well, if that’s correct, that will save a bit!
  23. Our Superb had it changed at 3 years at 19k. I’ve just had it done again at 6 years and 36k, together with the Haldex and Diff. Make sure they completely drain the fluid from the DSG.
  24. That’ll be me!
