  1. Change the gearbox oil ASAP too; it’s knackered on age if nothing else. I had it changed at 50 and 100k. Gearbox is still lovely and slippery and dead silent.
  2. If it’s never had the plenum chamber fix, it’s a 100% fact; it will leak and given the issues you now have, it already has at some point and it sounds like the convenience unit is already damaged. You also need to remove the two rubber drain bungs in the chamber too. Your method of trying to stop debris blocking it will not work, because it’s the smaller debris which initially blocks them. Your mesh installation will will make the problem worse. I spent over £1,200 pounds having the convenience unit and complete wiring loom replaced about 10 years ago, including the section to the parking sensors, which they also fully resealed. I checked the loom and unit today and it’s still as new.
  3. Is there any movement at all on the chrome door lock indicator pin, when you hit the lock/unlock switch on the door? If so, keep locking/unlocking it; it might take a couple of hundred attempts but it should free up. I had this exact issue with our 2006 Elegance after she’d sat for 6 months or so. Worth a try..
  4. You have a faulty parking sensor, normally caused by water ingress.
  5. Have you actually asked your insurer? That's what I'd do.
  6. Interesting. I’m looking for those. Which ones did you get?
  7. View Advert Chip Express CR170 Diesel Tuning Box Chip Express plug ‘n’ play box. Had this on our Superb CR170 and worked really well, with an excellent boost in torque (+circa 40 lbf/ft) and acceleration (+circa 30bhp) on the “standard” settings - I never tried the higher settings. I didn’t see any of the claimed MPG improvements (and I drove it very economically!). 8. Bought these last year. They’re excellent.
  9. Lookers are an abysmal company. I used them in Guildford on two occasions, the last being when I was told I need a cambelt change at a cost of £700…. The Service Advisor then argued that I didn’t know what I was talking about after I’d pointed-out the EA888 engine doesn’t have a cambelt; she then stomped away, calling me a f#£king wa&ker, just loud enough for me to hear. But it was the 8 week wait for an emergency appointment and (now chargeable) courtesy car which spelled the end for me. I suggest you think about using Wheelbase in Hersham; that’s where I’ll be taking the 280 in future.
  10. Might be an idea to PM Andrea11, as he may not be watching this thread and a PM will send him an email notification…
  11. Identical to the issue we had on our 2016 L&K. It started from stationary - dash lite up like a Christmas tree, dongs donging, dings dinging, ABS, ACC, Tyre sensors, F/R Park Assist, Hill Hold etc. Stopped for 10 mins and all was well, but it happened > 50 times on a number of journeys and 25+ on a 400 mile drive south. It was a failed OSR wheel sensor. Cost £180 at a VAG specialist.
  12. I had to glue the bloody accelerator peddle in place as it kept falling off… Anyone know where one can get the matching footrest and, preferably, not at a ridiculous cost?
  13. If it’s been superseded, available and compatible they’d probably just fit it.
  14. If there are no wires fitted to your existing jets then they're obviously not heated. The question I was asked was.... ... to which my answer was "yes" because that is correct; it does run all the way to the bonnet and across it to the two washer jet units.
  15. And I agree with MartiniB, I only use softened domestic water and VW screenwash too.
  16. Here you go.. I bought these heated ones last year and they’re perfect. 5 minutes to change them.
  17. Blimey! So when you say low torque map, does this mean a DSG remap is not required?
  18. Interesting. I’m looking to get the 280 remapped next year. What was the increase in torque? What’s TCU?
  19. Good stuff - be great to get it done. It is an amazing system compared to the standard CC, so good luck with the project. 👍🏻
  20. Does the standard cruise have radar? Does it have collision avoidance (or whatever it’s called) - when you’re coming up at < 5 mph behind a stationary vehicle and it automatically brakes? I ask as this uses the radar unit too I believe.
  21. I guess as its just a phone call, why not? But I can imagine it'll be bloody expensive for the parts alone.
