  1. View Advert Chip Express CR170 Diesel Tuning Box Chip Express plug ‘n’ play box. Had this on our Superb CR170 and worked really well, with an excellent boost in torque (+circa 40 lbf/ft) and acceleration (+circa 30bhp) on the “standard” settings - I never tried the higher settings. I didn’t see any of the claimed MPG improvements (and I drove it very economically!). Happy to post anywhere in the U.K. Advertiser numskull Date 12/10/21 Price £100 Category Parts for Sale Shipping Estimate £5
  2. Bought these last year. They’re excellent.
  3. Lookers are an abysmal company. I used them in Guildford on two occasions, the last being when I was told I need a cambelt change at a cost of £700…. The Service Advisor then argued that I didn’t know what I was talking about after I’d pointed-out the EA888 engine doesn’t have a cambelt; she then stomped away, calling me a f#£king wa&ker, just loud enough for me to hear. But it was the 8 week wait for an emergency appointment and (now chargeable) courtesy car which spelled the end for me. I suggest you think about using Wheelbase in Hersham; that’s where I’ll be taking the 280 in future.
  4. Might be an idea to PM Andrea11, as he may not be watching this thread and a PM will send him an email notification…
  5. Identical to the issue we had on our 2016 L&K. It started from stationary - dash lite up like a Christmas tree, dongs donging, dings dinging, ABS, ACC, Tyre sensors, F/R Park Assist, Hill Hold etc. Stopped for 10 mins and all was well, but it happened > 50 times on a number of journeys and 25+ on a 400 mile drive south. It was a failed OSR wheel sensor. Cost £180 at a VAG specialist.
  6. I had to glue the bloody accelerator peddle in place as it kept falling off… Anyone know where one can get the matching footrest and, preferably, not at a ridiculous cost?
  7. If it’s been superseded, available and compatible they’d probably just fit it.
  8. If there are no wires fitted to your existing jets then they're obviously not heated. The question I was asked was.... ... to which my answer was "yes" because that is correct; it does run all the way to the bonnet and across it to the two washer jet units.
  9. And I agree with MartiniB, I only use softened domestic water and VW screenwash too.
  10. Here you go.. I bought these heated ones last year and they’re perfect. 5 minutes to change them.
  11. Blimey! So when you say low torque map, does this mean a DSG remap is not required?
  12. Interesting. I’m looking to get the 280 remapped next year. What was the increase in torque? What’s TCU?
  13. Good stuff - be great to get it done. It is an amazing system compared to the standard CC, so good luck with the project. 👍🏻
  14. Does the standard cruise have radar? Does it have collision avoidance (or whatever it’s called) - when you’re coming up at < 5 mph behind a stationary vehicle and it automatically brakes? I ask as this uses the radar unit too I believe.
  15. I guess as its just a phone call, why not? But I can imagine it'll be bloody expensive for the parts alone.
  16. So, this is the correct one... 🙄

  18. Buying a genuine device from an authorised dealer will ensure it’s not a fake. As has already been said, the residual values of the products are so good, the difference between new and (genuine) used is so small, buying new is worth it.
  19. I bought these 8 months ago, gave them 3 layers of clear coat and they’re still like new…
  20. When you lower the seat, reset the seat memory and it should hold the new position. Does on mine, as sometimes I just want to adjust it slightly to make it more comfortable for my left leg.
  21. Ours has all those options, apart from the auto boot close from inside the car, but you can close it with the key fob when you goto put the trolley back at Aldi and, of course, the virtual dash… it just has a real one. Now, I can normally justify myself into spend on most things, but I just can’t on the retro fit of that as the benefits do not outweigh the outlay. Oh yes, it has ventilated front seats too; the way our weather is going, believe me when I say you should add those to your (must) list. If you have electric seats with memory on a Superb, via VCDS/OBD11 one can set the drivers seat to easy exit/entry which reverses the drivers seat base by around 5” (see, I did that conversion for us baby boomer imperial old folk!) and also uprights the seat back for you automatically once you switch off the ignition, thus making exiting and entering the car far easier than having a flat tyre wheel. You can also set a seat memory button to lower the seat. I set button #3 to do this. The manufacturers marketeers added these cos they thought they look “cool”. Whilst they actually serve a purpose in your case (as long as you remember to centre the wheel with at the flat bottom at… er… the bottom, I’m guessing?) their actual purpose they were originally designed to help with is irrelevant in any road car. Its a bit like go faster stripes from the ‘70’s/‘80’s, twin exit add-on exhaust ends and shoving bonnet vents on a fuel injected car, IMO they just look daft…🤦🏻‍♂️
