Tyre life
Just goes to show the MoT test has too many areas which are open to interpretation. Our P7’s have 31,178 miles on them from new and they all have cracking around the outside edge of the tyre. Passed the MoT without an advisory 10 days and 34 miles ago, and they are very tough. In spite of protestations from another member recently, they still have at least 10k miles in them; no idea if they’ll start delaminating before then, but whoa betide Pirelli if that should happen.

I like DCC. Didn’t pay for it as such as it’s an L&K so it was standard and I bought the car from a Briskodian so he’d taken 45% depreciation. I especially like Comfort on motorways and sport on quick B roads, but like you, Normal is exactly that.

Car will be left for a couple of months - options?
I’ve used a CTEK M5.0S for more than 5 years, first on out MKI for four years and then on our 280 for the past six months and it works fabulously.

Seats, a dead leg, more leg pain, and a fix
Taking a crowbar is far too drastic for my liking. Like everything, the position one sits in the driving seat be comes habitual. So I purposely moved the position of my ar$e over to the left by about 10mm each time I got in the seat and that fixed my similar issue.

New 19” tyres required, which ones
Yes, you absolutely do not know what you’re talking about.

New 19” tyres required, which ones
1. Well, that's actually just your inexperience causing you to spout such nonsense. 2. Well, that's a pretty dumb and wholly inaccurate analogy 3. 0316

Ferrite core has no effect
Hardwired our Nextbase cam via the fuse box behind the glovebox. Placed the cable behind the airbag on the A Pillar, under the headliner to the smart assist camera housing and then to the dashcam. No ferrite core needed and no DAB interference issues whatsoever.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
I replaced the standard bulbs with these last year. They’re excellent.

Manœuvre and front assist
^^^^ Correct on both points. The car I mentioned above was stationary.

New 19” tyres required, which ones
The P7’s on our 280 are exactly the same as Danoids and it passed the MOT last Saturday without any advisories. It’s annoying, given there is probably another 10k in them.

Manœuvre and front assist
Manoeuvre Assist certainly works on ours. It once stopped me from rear ending a car when I was completely distracted.

Facelifting Skoda Superb 2015 to look like 2019
I removed mine as I couldn’t stand all the badges. There was some shadowing left but they were gone in a couple of mins with the DA, Dodo Juice min cut compound and an ultra fine black pad. .

I’d find out if it can be spec’d as you want it first and then make a decision. What do you have to lose?

Cambelt gone
Appalling. Don’t give up, keep pushing them for goodwill. Has it always been main dealer serviced? What dealer are you using? If they’re not playing ball, call them out and SUK on Twitter, FB, LinkedIn. And write to your MP.

The 280PS Thread
It’s not going to log anything; what would the point? They cannot give the data to Policing, that’s for sure and it will be one of the four systems to switch it off. Easy-peasy. I certainly wouldn’t let that put me off.

Bloody cheek! I’m 32! 😂 Nah… I’ve got tins of beans that are probably older than you! Oh BTW, the Capri MK1 was launched 4 years before the Allegro!

Does it really matter, given the speed limiters can be easily overridden? VAG have not stated, like others, that their marques will be limited to 111mph, have they? Up to date info in AT

Have you got a dealer to check the pipeline for cancelled orders?

How much to replace a 2015 280 SEL ?
I paid £20.5k retail for our March 2016 L&K 280 nearly two years ago. It had 19k and it now has 31. It’s an ex. Briskodian car, which meant I had complete faith in it straight away. He got 18k when he traded it in. It was originally priced at £22k. It’s now worth £23k trade. Yep. Prices are completely nuts.

2016 1.6 DSG clutch pack and flywheel
I can only think the cost of a DSG clutch pack would be somewhat more than a manual box and likewise, the DMF.

Diagnostic fee before I know if it's free.
Exactly what I was quoted by Lookers in Guildford when our 280 went nuts while we were away in July last year. The dash lit up and no ABS, cruise, blind spot etc. etc. Oh and a three week wait to see it… or five if I wanted (err, NEEDED) a now chargeable courtesy car. Then called a respected VAG Indy who was much closer, who said they were certain it’d be a wheel sensor, probably rear and they could see the car on Monday (this was Sat). I asked about a courtesy car and they said sorry, but I’d have to wait… til Tuesday! Needless to say they got and will continue to get my business from now on. Oh, they didn’t charge for the diagnostics either. P.S. Lookers also kindly told me they’d reduce the cost of a service by 10%, but only if …. wait for it…. I got the camBELT changed at the same time!! Stars, er?

Facelifting Skoda Superb 2015 to look like 2019
Personally, I find some model facelifts exactly that; an attempted improvement which is obvious and which can be a failure. The originality of the design gets broken and it looks well, wrong y’know, a bit like adding a spoiler to a car, something which was never in the original designers eye. The radical, sleek MK1 Ford Capri vs the disastrous MK1.5, the gorgeous Lancia Beta that became the appalling Trevi and the already terrible Allegro which, if it was actually possible, became even worse with the MK2. I’m not saying the facelift Superb is as bad as these, but the chrome bar cross the hatchback back and light clusters and the big, incorrectly angled fog lamps in the ugly front bumper to me, just look wrong.

The 280PS Thread
Really? Be nice to have a play if it can be done on a March 16 model. I have VCDS, so do you know the codings (straightforwardly please as I’m a bit of a twit!) Thanks in advance! 😂

The 280PS Thread
Yep, an L&K 280 is a rare car. GLWTS. You could ask the dealer to check and see if there are any order cancellations in the pipe? Anyway, I’m not sure if any of the L&K MY have memory passenger seats, ours certainly doesn’t. You can add “easy entry/exit” to the seats with an adaptation with VCDS. Ventilated seats were an option which ours has… and it has a TV, was was standard but only on 4Q15/1Q16 cars. 🙄 Once you’ve played around with the dampers, you’ll probably end up leaving it on the one you like! Never liked sunroofs; it’s just another thing to go wrong and leak. Early cars only had 3 colour ambient lighting. No idea if that can be changed to offer more or change the three one has. And NOT having the parking ticket holder is a deal breaker on the Arteon for me!
