Sounds like a very neglected car. So many things already spotted, what else is hidden. I think you're on for a hiding for nothing. There are so many other good cars from Skoda dealers all carrying a 12 month warranty, why take the risk. If I were to make an offer for this car it would only be if the seller agreed to get a full Skoda report ( at their expense) and then and only then would go no more then £4.5K

Endorse all the above plus when you lift the lid it makes the engine bay well finished rather then some thing that's been forgotten. Its the first thing most people will notice when its not there. Also when you drop the bonnet down is doesn't sound like like an old tin can, but some thing more sophisticated and precision built. Well worth going for in my opinion

What do you think the chances are that any two different people will buy exactly the same car at exactly the same price? I personally would like to see fixed price maintenance control re-introduced. ( 1945-1948?) Whereby it would be illegal to sell a car at anything other than the manufacturer's published price. Would this go a long way in stabilising the market and ensure a better deal for every one. Is this a can of worms.

Interestingly one of my BMW's used to have a small hinged flap right under neither the oil drain plug. So to drain the oil it was only necessary to give one half turn on the fixing screw to gain full access to the plug. Rocket science - No , Considerate - Yes. Why Why Why !!!!!

Haven't got one, but if I did I would hate the name. A car of this type and quality demands a more respectful form of identity to make it stand out above the rest. Every time I hear the name I think of Tonka Toys and all it implies. The Yeti or Abominable Snowman is an Ape-like cryptid said to inhabit the Himalayan region of Nepal,India and Tibet. I have the under bonnet insulation pad fitted to my TSI Must say that it has made the engine noise both inside and outside noticeably quieter. Also when closing the bonnet a much more acceptable sound rather than an old tin can being slammed down. Just my thoughts - only wish I done it sooner. Small bucks - big improvement.

Glade to hear that you are OK, sounds a bad crash. Would be useful to see some pics to show members how these cars stand up to a major impact.
