I need Bolero Update :-)
I am glad that you have cured the firmware. Speaking of, the firmware as you see, does contain all the features inside, but they are not all activated! This is done by modifying the firmware to enable SWaP functions to be patched. I have not done this myself, but Mr Fix has made a very nice video of process.

Head unit in continual reboot
Whilst the car is under warranty, get the dealers to poke and prod it. You were in the menu for updates ( engineering) so all you needed was the file's to flash it with. Let us know how you get on, best of luck.

Head unit in continual reboot
If the car is out of any warranty, then you could flash the firmware to see if that stabilises things.

Fabia II Facelift Aircon issues / Headache
Have you been able to get eyes on the location the fan controller is supposed to live? It does look fair tucked away, down very low. Unless you are desperate for AC right now, I would pause buying new parts until you have checked more parts of the loom. In engine compartment, front left -arrow-

OTA update available
Skoda only have 1896 for now, unless they have completely swapped over to that new version OTA (not heard of anything newer)

Media Files
That looks ok, only other could be it has v1 and/or v2 tags in same file. Unless someone else can say if theirs does the same?

Head unit in continual reboot
Sorry was off checking, that is the latest version in the 01xx series, the 02xx and 03xx cannot be "jumped" to. Did it reboot in that mode, or was it stable in that menu?

Strange events with charging and battery behaving like it was flat
I will save you the effort, of doing it Graham, don't want to break the connector if you are unsure. Effects of signal failure In the event of a signal failure of the battery sensor, the operating condition of the battery can no longer be accurately determined and monitored. An entry is made in the fault memory of the data bus diagnostic interface (Gateway) J533. The START-STOP system is deactivated. So a break in the wire that you was mentioning won't stop the car from starting.

Head unit in continual reboot
I can possibly check for existance of a firmware update, though sounds like you will have to be quick in navigating and taking a photo. Try to hold down menu/setup key and see if you can get into the engineering mode/details and take pictures of what you think will be relevant.

Media Files
@Pol04 Do you think the media player is reading the file tags and using that for navigation? Given you have I presume a folder called 'Billy Joel Greatest Hits Vol 1' and it's probably tagged as just 'Greatest Hits' Also where you have 'unknown artist' makes me think it's tagging issue in each file

Fabia II Facelift Aircon issues / Headache
Sorry for the delays, here the plot seems to thicken a little. Here is your build spec that will be useful to answer some questions about build date, now we know TMBJK25J4B3091---.pdf Here is the list of radiator fan parts that is decoded to your specific VIN FAB 959-050 FI.pdf According to the mothership, you should have the relay 😬 Well at least you did when you left the factory it would appear, unless they made a massive mistake. Here is full list of part that could be fitted to cool the car down (just for complete picture) FAB 959-050.pdf Image of the critter Not saying that you do have this, I know weird things could happen.

Yes buy another card, I presume you are using PC (though issue usually affects maps)

I need Bolero Update :-)
@gumuskurt22 You are using SD Card, and not phone or USB to SD Card adaptor? Have you done a full (slow) format on the SD Card, and no errors found? Here is the original package, and checksum of overall 7z file

I need Bolero Update :-)
It cannot read a file for some reason, was you able to begin any copying stages? If yes, then maybe just one file/folder is missing or corrupt (looks more missing) You will need to take an image for me of the SD Card contents

Head unit in continual reboot
The new generation do seem very susceptible to fault's. Remove fuse, do a 20s count and insert again. If still boot looping then probably back to dealers to try and load firmware, if it's able to be stable enough, otherwise could be a new unit.

Fabia II Facelift Aircon issues / Headache
I hear you Pete, but I wonder if when the user presses AC button, it sends signals over the canbus to various parts of course, and also get's feedback from Engine ECU saying it cannot start due to the mysterious relay box issue (coding or a fault in ECU) being a lack of a actual fault (to be determined by VIN) As it was the HVAC that made the request and was denied by ECU, then it stores fault in that location? Need a computer degree on these cars sometimes! For sure this is an interesting thread.

finding a useful diagnostic tool for budget price
For that price you may as well bump up to VCDS HEX-V2 USB Package (3 VIN) that will give you old and new coverage at £225

Dreaded looping
If it goes wrong, you'll have a pine box waiting for him. 🤣

finding a useful diagnostic tool for budget price
That's a headache, as assuming it works, you need an OrgID (organisation ID) to get a licence. A hoop you won't be able to jump through. And diagnostic will be PAYG at 7Euros an hour.

Dreaded looping
He maybe right, not got first hand experience as never needed to fit. If it doesn't then a trip to independent garage should get it working if they have online access to code in VIN.

Fabia II Facelift Aircon issues / Headache
Not to rain on your parade, but the actual main ECU could be your culprit. It keeps flagging up the fault codes for the relays, if they don't actually exist... then maybe it's lost the plot? I also realise that dates stored in ECU for fault codes don't always align with real life of course. Maybe VAG know something we don't and we are going to get 14 months in the future! If the ECU detects a fault on the fan circuit (amongst other checks) then AC will be disabled. Perhaps if you can PM your full VIN, then it can be decoded to know for sure build date and if you have the fan relay hidden away somewhere. Certainly might clear that issue up. Alternatively, keep stripping away at the loom to determine if you have a broken wire as the ECU thinks it has.
