  1. There are many factors that influence if stop/start will shut down the engine. How much charge is in the battery (it needs enough reserve to start) What temperature the engine coolant is Interior temperature Heated seats Demisters Faults Your battery as it ages will be affecting how much charge it can store, and potentially if 7 years old, it might be getting down on health. Ideally you should get the car scanned and tested (there is a forum list of members with VCDS) that might show reasons (faults) as to why it isn't working as it should. Getting a garage to test the health of the battery.
  2. Welcome, sadly that is the latest version already installed in the 01xx series of SW Trains
  3. That list might be old, or for older Karoq's. You will have AdBlue, so take the above list with pinch of salt.
  4. Yes it's behind battery (3) for negative It say igntion off, and leave the front door open during charging.
  5. Here you go @fsec this is the information that @roottoot is referring to. Pages from D4B80828146-Trailer_operation_as_of_2016.pdf
  6. Give me around 5 minutes and I shall send file over.
  7. I believe that 2nd picture is the one you are talking about. It's same location rotated as far as I can see (look at the weird hump)
  8. Welcome to the forum first of all, Next is can you hold down your menu button a few seconds to get the Software Train information shown, yours should be MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0359T or similar. If this is what you see, then this SW Train is available - MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0367T You will also need to specify a Country so I can adjust firewall to allow temporary access to download if an update is available.
  9. Some more pictures that might assist. Earth Point B Pillar I think this might be in rear of vehicle, but might not be, also optional equipment choice. Hard to make out the location in my head exactly. You should have a small part of the loom not pictured heading to the fuel tank under the seat, if I can find an image I will post it.
  10. I have found this for RHD driver seat, there are other modules in and around this area, but locating correct loom is never easy to trace. This shows you more of the cable bundles, but maybe ducts follow the route. There is no mention of disconnection of battery to remove seats, just unplugging the electical connectors.
  11. Welcome 🤗 Hopefully people can be able to help.
  12. Fingers crossed you're not blinding people 😎
  13. Do you have someone near with VCDS or VCP / other that could code the battery in. Some still think Stop/Start will break thing's, many things got beefed up to handle this, starter for example, of course things will break, but my 7 year old car is still on original battery.
  14. Gimme 5 minutes or less to send you PM.
  15. release = "MHI2_ER_SKG11_K3343" MUVersion = "1433" < snip > SupportedTrains = "MHI2_ER_SKG11_P2104*,MHI2_ER_SKG11_S2104*,MHI2_ER_SKG11_K2129*,MHI2_ER_SKG11_S2129*,MHI2_ER_SKG11_P3260*,MHI2_ER_SKG11_P3304*,MHI2_ER_SKG11_P3325*,MHI2_ER_SKG11_K3330*,MHI2_ER_SKG11_K3333*,MHI2_ER_SKG11_K3343*" Yes the update named at the top will update your SupportedTrains entry. At your own risk, I can send you a link to download and apply.
  16. If you are thinking of new firmware, you need to hold down menu or setup button for a few seconds to enter the update menu. You are looking for SW Train or Software Train depending on how they write it. A picture says a 1,000 word's, so best take and upload information.
  17. I would recommend sticking with the AGM, and make sure the Ah rating and CCA are same or better. Sadly you will need to code the battery so that the car knows how to charge it.
  18. There is a Service campaign 46G7 TPI 2046745/9 for VW that might be affecting you (remember they do share parts "bin") regarding faults with the EPB On vehicles with electronic parking brake PR No. UH2 and a manual gearbox of a certain production period in rare cases the vehicle cannot always be automatically stopped when using Auto Hold. You need to get a list of your PR codes, you may have a partial list in your boot or service book, look for the above PR code.
  19. Welcome 🤗
  20. Last Friday, the car did a 12 mile journey each way, not driven since and sits at 12.15V I would love to take the battery to 8, 9 or 10 years, but that's not something I wish to chance. A part of me would love to see how far I can get it before it calls it quits, I shall try to push it as far as is sensible.
  21. Just for clarity, there are 2 lists... one is for EU countries as I have posted. They also list all others separately.
  22. The 2 wires heading from the battery monitor will tell the Alternator to charge the battery as and when it deems it's needed. The other wire to the starter is for another part of stop/start, you have a capacitor under your seat (or passenger) that has at least 200W of storage capacity, this is "enabled" when a signal is sent via the cars network to engage and keep the radio running whilst the starter is engaged, once the starter reports it is no longer in use, then it will being charging the capacitor. Any breaks will disable stop/start. The one to the alternator will most likely cause it to run all the time to maintain, and/or put a light on dash (minimum fault codes will be stored) It's very easy to check your theory, unplug the 2-pin connector... if the car starts then your logic about it stopping the car from starting will be blown out of the water. @KenONeill @nta16 For what it is worth, my 2015 Greenline 1.6tdi with Stop/Start is still on the original battery stamp on negative is 25 15, wk 25 2015. Date of production 30.06.2015 for the car. I know the life of the battery is getting towards the end, maybe I was very lucky to have this survive all this time!
  23. Grab your V5, and try to locate Engine detail on it. Usually will be 4 letters for your car (modern) with some numbers after it. CEGA12345 for example where CEGA is your engine code EDIT: Probably won't need the Engine code as there is only 1 entry for 1.5ltr petrol We might need a VIN to decide which of the PR codes applies to you PRCode: H1U = Tires 235/45 R18 94W 1.5/110 kW TSI Half load = Front 250/2.5 (36PSI) Rear 250/2.5 (36PSI) Full load = Front 250/2.5 (36PSI) Rear 330- 3.3 (48PSI) PRCode: J96 = Suspension range 96 1.5/110 kW TSI Half load = Front 220- 2.2 (32PSI) Rear 230- 2.3 (33PSI) Full load = Front 250- 2.5 (36PSI) Rear 330- 3.3 (48PSI)
