  1. Yeah you should at least have aching muscles, be prepared for a sore few days. If you are, make Dr. appointment as you might need for insurance claim.
  2. I hope you do manage to sleep ok. Seeing your damage reminded me of my accident. Fingers crossed you don't have whiplash.
  3. I bet we could name a 1,000 potential faults if we put our collective minds to it. If the fault is intermittent, then could be a little while in happening again. Now we just need to hear from OP if our suggestions helped fix immediate issue.
  4. I found it a little hard to understand the OP, so I can assume his radio went nuts, followed by I guess the screen in the dash changing from speed to his radio stations. @hetty1 maybe a picture of what you see will help us understand. Well actually, is this where you're talking about having missing information, of what you used to see here... B location You will need to push the buttons on your steering wheel
  5. I wonder if he just needs to press the button on his MFSW to swap centre screen from Nav/Radio/Speed display?
  6. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/262215-list-of-vcds-owners-previously-known-as-vag-com-vcp-owners/ Take a look at this thread, there is a map you can view of people or a list. Then check their profile to see when last online, then reach out via PM if nobody replies here directly.
  7. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/505798-basic-how-to-read-wiring-diagrams/ Here's one I made earlier as they say. At least he will have wiring diagram now.
  8. I was going to say that phone permissions probably got in the way
  9. I guess since it's been a year, either not fixed or got it fixed and didn't update the thread. Rain or dirt on the sensors can of course affect the function, as can a faulty sensor/wiring loom issue. You should try to get the car on a fault code reader, if you are in the UK, then we have a bigger selection of people with scan tools you can use to scan if you don't own any. My own car has these stored Address 10: Park/Steer Assist (J791) Labels:| 5Q0-919-298.clb Part No SW: 5Q0 919 298 K HW: 5Q0 919 298 Component: PARKHILFE PLA H12 0054 Revision: -------- Serial number: 39491514005930 Coding: 0131061041 Shop #: WSC 73430 790 00063 ASAM Dataset: EV_EPHVA2CAU3700000 003021 ROD: EV_EPHVA2CAU3700000_003.rod VCID: 47992422FE9974B74E-8012 3 Faults Found: 1079572 - Rear Right Parking Aid Sensors B1079 14 [009] - Open or Short to Ground Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 00000001 Fault Priority: 3 Fault Frequency: 2 Reset counter: 98 Mileage: 222684 km Date: 2021.04.19 Time: 14:36:26 1079316 - Center Rear Right Parking Aid Sensor B1078 14 [009] - Open or Short to Ground Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 00000001 Fault Priority: 3 Fault Frequency: 1 Reset counter: 2 Mileage: 222684 km Date: 2021.04.19 Time: 14:36:26 1080852 - Side Rear Right Parking Aid Sensors B107E 14 [009] - Open or Short to Ground Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 00000001 Fault Priority: 3 Fault Frequency: 1 Reset counter: 2 Mileage: 222684 km Date: 2021.04.19 Time: 14:36:27 As you can see from this image, someone else had butchered the loom on the car, and no power was flowing to the 3x sensors on the right Bottom line for you, is you are best to get a scan of the car to find out what fault codes exist
  10. Here's another example of brilliant Skoda dealer service. Guy takes his car to main dealer, and get's told there are no updates for his gearbox, so basically "live with it" I beg to differ, and 5x updates in a single year 🤔 I didn't do this work, but was ask to verify if there was indeed any software update(s)
  11. Now @pab567 has sent you the file, you at least have it on hand if you do decide to update FW
  12. A little bit lacking in detail, but odds are they are fobbing you off. Are you looking for something specific from them? They cannot tell you without plugging in, so to be told over the phone is bs.
  13. I was not sure if @pab567 was responding or busy with work, but firmware can fix issues with say Bluetooth connectivity and other issues that you may experience in time. Sadly they don't exactly publish a changelog of faults with new firmwares, you have to read TPI (Technical Product Information) document to piece together the possible changes. So you may or may not need a new firmware, but sometimes it's a good idea to update along with the maps so you can know you should have less errors. Maps can be found by inputting VIN here, https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/ and we also have links in the forum that you can optional use VW maps (newer generally and you can use happily on the unit as they share technology) p.s. If you hold down your Menu button, you enter the section where you can update your firmware, and read what Software Train is installed. If you are curious about the existence of an update, then this is the image you will need to supply.
  14. Yeah seeing all the similar sounding German channels threw me off, I was coding LED bulbs and I had to really look hard to find them 😄
  15. Everyday is a school day, I tend not to muck about "under the hood" too much, but nice to know that there is a scan full-full option 😄
  16. Clutch like brakes is a wear item, so odds are slim. At 54k it's a bit early for a new one, so there's a chance... besides you never know if you complain. I did have a DPF replaced for free once, turned out my car had a service campaign for replacing the DPF pressure sensor, so I argued that if that was faulty, then my car went into limp mode as it read the soot wrong.

Maybe there will be a sort of "crash" when the chip shortages settle down, and these garages are left with some cars becoming unsold. Not likely to happen soon given the current wait time for cars.
  18. Odds are that will be a lower level Service Campaign (if I have that correct) as it's probably a batch of duff sensors that got fitted. So not safety related, and your car will happily pootle along, as until you checked you didn't have any cause for concern. I dare say that some had experienced empty tanks with say 1/4 or 1/8th showing on display, so this is investigated and then becomes this "we'll fix them when they come in for servicing"
  19. AFAIK no easy way to determine if it's one or the other. IMHO: - Recalls are more safety related issues Service Campaign are to fix something less critical
  20. I was to second the Autoglym, as it's easily accessible say popping down to Halfords. Generally easy to use products etc. I was to reply last night to suggest you get some microfibre cloths if you haven't already got some, and I had a small wooden nail cleaner type brush with soft bristles (cannot stress that enough) to help loosen any dirt in those pesky little holes. If you use some stiff brush, then expect to wear your leather down a little quicker. When you apply product, go with the less is more approach, so don't apply too much at once, and you will find the holes won't be as clogged up. Do small sections again so you don't get tempted to overload the cleaning product and wipe large amounts all over it. I tend to find with the leather balms/creams that they are readily absorbed into the leather, almost like it's thirsty! But apply same idea as cleaning product and don't overload the application.
  21. @PoloPaul I am in the process of getting my hands on the TPI from a friend with access to try and dig into the situation a little deeper. As you can see from my linked in thread to the image from a Golf Mk8 they seem to update a fair few control units, I am wondering if the list if same or different for Skoda. I am forming a possible picture that there is a different list of updates for Skoda compared to VW (though they share a lot of the same hardware) or that some dealers are simply scanning the TPI and cherry picking their way to the fastest way to load SW1896. As for future SW updates, once you are on 18xx or the 1896, you should be able to get the online updates yourself, as you know if you are on 16xx you cannot simply go to 18xx as there will most likely be some hardware changes to accomodate the update physically. So unless they find yet another major issue, you should be getting online updates from now on, if the car is set correctly (registered and security levels are correct)
  22. @Bap33 I agree 100%, I picked up a new car just about a month back, and the first thing I did was full scan and save for a baseline. It helps you with repair history/fault finding etc. if you need to reference back to a fault that keeps occuring. I am glad this feature exists though, because the number of times people never take a snapshot log and just reach for the coding is amazing. I wish there was a full-full scan that saves all the adaption channels too, as we often dive into those for changes. Prevention is better than a cure, but sadly many people find out the hard way, and our posts here if read will help people discover the programs features now 🤝
  23. Depends on price of the bay dongle's, they might be fake clone heads. A genuine lead just works when you download software. If previous owner registered head, then for support they ask you pay a transfer of ownership fee.
  24. @Mmarm For safety, please supply your Software Train version. You can find this from entering the special menu, press and hold Menu button to find.
  25. It'd be rude not to push all the buttons, otherwise why put them in the car
