  1. Morning Heather, welcome to the forum. @pab567 can probably suggest what can be fitted for your infotainment system, he will notice your post and respond soon (have your VIN prepared on your computer in a text file) @East_Yorkshire_Retrofits @ApertureS are two companies that might be able to discuss the retrofit of front parking sensors (do you have the rear sensors at the moment?)
  2. I will send you a link in a few moments
  3. Might be just as well to locate nearest forum member with VCDS, might be needed Hex V2 version mind you, and get a full car scan. Otherwise consider buying one yourself if you plan on keep the car, or staying in the VAG stable for a few years. The final option is ring around local garages and ask if they have VCDS or ODIS as you just want a printout of everything in your car. Then you will be able to feed back here what version is installed and I can lookup, or the garage should be able also.
  4. Hold down your Menu/Setup button for about 10 seconds to enter the engineering menu, take pictures in there and report back. I can see if the dealer's are being truthful.
  5. It's a photo stored on outlook, and it works on laptop probably because you are logged in with your credentials. You will need to save it/download it and attach to the post using the paperclip icon.
  6. I know we have had a discussion in my battery adaption thread, can you take pictures of what you wrote into the gateway? A recap of what's in the guide, there are 4 values... Brand - Not important, write JCB for example Technology type - Has to match fitted Ah Rating - Match value on battery Serial number - change a single digit Now, odds are your battery is getting tired, can you say how many years it has been on the car? For reference I changed my AGM original at 7 years when it's Voltage when left to rest (a long rest of a week!) was 12.1V. It still had life really, but I was not one to be left on side of the road ever. You will know your own car much better than me, so if you feel it is on the way out, best replace before you get stuck I say.
  7. Here is example of what can be seen if you have a diagnostic scan done. (I am still at a loss that they have not aparantly found a fix, smells like something that comes out rear end of a bull) Address 01: Engine (J623-DBKA) Labels:. 04L-907-309-V1.clb Part No SW: 04L 906 026 CA HW: 04L 907 309 R Component: R4 1,6L EDC H21 1662 FL_04L906026CA_1662__V001.frf FL_04L906026CA_2023__V001.frf FL_04L906026CA_3126__V001.frf
  8. It's possible to find the version by VIN, but I don't have access to that system (I've seen it) A VCDS scan of the car might reveal what's fitted currently loaded and I could look to see if the file has been released.
  9. Can you enter the GEM (Green Engineering Menu) and show me a picture of what hack tool you are using. Feel free to send by Private Message rather than pollute the forum.
  10. It will either block the firmware update from being installed this patch, or the update will erase your patch. So best decide if you wish to hack unit, though MIB Toolbox exists to assist (if the firmware is on supported list) Have you got Developer mode activated in the unit? Is it already running MIB Toolbox or similar?
  11. Yes I can send in about 30 minutes as I need to package it.
  12. You won't need to adapt the new battery, the car will self-learn the charging all on its own. Literally keep that money in your pocket! AGM to EFB absolutely Adapt it EFB to EFB nope AGM to AGM nope The 2Ah difference between the two batteries (old to new) won't make that much an impact. Swap yourself, turn on car and turn wheel full lock to left and right, lights will go out. Ideally you are going to want to do a fair drive to give it a nice charge, or spend a little dough on a charger that has AGM program.
  13. Either the Varta or the Bosch you linked will drop into place. Your old as an AGM and 68Ah, the new linked one's are 70Ah AGM and would technically drop in and charge fine. Ideally get the new one adapted, but again in theory you should be fine. If you keep the 70Ah EFB, then I would get that adapted in, the forum has a map of local VCDS users, I am sure you can find someone you can visit for a few beer tokens and get it adapted.
  14. Varta and Bosch AFAIK are made in exactly the same factory. I did look at their website, and you would have to pay for the return out of own pocket, so at this stage you probably should go with the EFB, and try and locate someone locally to adapt the battery to EFB and 70Ah etc as in the instructions.
  15. You can type in the @ symbol to tag me (tip for future) Ok, so you have increased from 68Ah to a 70Ah that won't affect things that much at all, however you have brought an EFB battery to replace an AGM. EFB's last twice as long as a standard battery (roughly speaking) AGM's last three times as long, again roughly speaking. I would say you have two choices, that gets returned, or you get that EFB adapted in correctly just to be safe. This one would have been a drop in for you https://www.tayna.co.uk/car-batteries/varta/e39/
  16. Have you got a picture of the old battery, or can you say it's "68Ah AGM" for example?
  17. Look again at page one and the 4th post by me, follow the link.
  18. I would assume they made a balls up, the part number you have posted 5E0 857 521 is just the glass only and the glass is Left (RHD/LHD doesn't matter) But the whole mirror frame it does matter, there are Left LHD and Left RHD BTW there are about 70, yes 70! Different choices depending on the specification of the car, and any parts that have been superseded will be in this massive list.
  19. When you said you ordered a new mirror... did you mean the whole thing, or just mirror glass?
  20. That Polcar link says "RHT/LHD" RHT = Right Hand Traffic? LHD = Left Hand Drive I would say
  21. I did finally get a chance to see again the diagram's. You can clearly see the connector, odd as VAG usually tell you every step to remove and they didn't mention the plug connector 🙄
  22. I took a look for you @Breezy_Pete but couldn't find any electrical plug on the door lock (I think that was what you wanted!) Sorry if I got the wrong end of the stick, juggling a few things at the moment.

  24. Yes, I can send you an update in a few minutes.
