  1. Some good deals about at the minute. Tempted to upgrade our June 24 SE-L to a Sportline but I’m put off by the glass roof and its potential to give trouble - and to be fair we bought the SEL to see out (certainly mine) days without having to buy one of the EV offerings. Curiously, the insurance on a new Sportline is coming up somewhat cheaper than the 1 year old SEL, £240 v £290……?
  2. Nice little win on the way down - but, like me, you pay when coming back…….
  3. In the latest Skoda Karoq brochure, I wonder why in the options list a price is shown when it's fitted as standard to all across the range?
  4. Yes, just checked our June 24 model, Halogen fogs, not sure if that knock out the 'cornering' option? Either way, I feel cheated, 50 year old tech (admittedly it works) still being fitted.......clearly shows up as 'different' when illuminated below the LED headlamps......
  5. There was a time when buying a newly released model from the lower end of the range was not the best policy as equipment levels were minimal - as the model got further into its life ‘toys’ and desirable trim was added to keep things fresh. Unfortunately this former trend has almost disappeared, as this thread discusses, with current policy to remove stuff from the spec list. I’ve a 2024 SEL built during the changeover weeks and it came with the ‘flex’ rear seat, an expensive option on the current model and I did gain the bigger electronic dash display - however, I lost the previously standard ‘light package’ that I hadn’t noticed until I checked today……no cornering fogs, self levelling or automatic left/right hand driving for me. Swings and roundabouts, as they say……..
  6. Has it got the chrome brightwork around the windows (SEL) or black (SE)….?
  7. 6200 on a March 22 - when I ordered it during Covid I really thought I'd be getting out more but alas, what with the potholes and endless traffic congestion, I was wrong.
  8. 2010 Golf, owned from new, never needed a top-up, still frosty cold………
  9. Nah, mine's on and off all the time in urban traffic - if the OP has not seen any evidence of it working it's probably busted.......
  10. Just get yourself into some multi lane stop start urban traffic - preferably in the centre lane of 3 - the BSM should / will be lighting up like a council house at Christmas……… Does the rear blind spot system work OK, that is the warning beep when reversing out into traffic / pedestrians?
  11. Nice - I must admit, having a 15 year old Golf and a Superb estate, both with bonnet struts - I'm forever surprised by how much the Karoq bonnet weighs and the effort required to lift it..........
  12. Can't find the post but I'm sure this was asked on here before - seem to think it'd got something to do with a firmware update taking place........then again I might have dreamt it?
  13. I'm sure that all they do is check it works and report back at extra cost if it needs gas or anything else - that fluff about inspecting the compressor, condenser and dryer is just that, fluff - as for the other 34 point car check, hmmm........ So, in answer to your question, ask yourself, does it work, is it cold enough? If no then don't waste £99 on what you already know, use it towards the cost of re gassing.
  14. I use E5 all the time in my 280 but a tankful in the Karoq 1.5 made no difference apart from costing me £4 more…! 🙂
  15. Cardboard boxes are recognised as not being a threat - try the wife else a brick wall…….🤔 Seriously though, ours very rarely responds to anything - it does however, work, I suspect you have to be on the move so to speak as both times I’ve had it show up was when I became distracted and the car in front stopped. I haven’t got time to fully check now but IIRC there’s 2 systems, one controlled by the radar camera and the other uses the sensors on the bumper, I’ve got the latter turned ‘off’ - check yours, listed under ‘Parking and Manoeuvring’ and try the cardboard box thing again……….
  16. Impressive……….45 - 55 is all our 1.5 manages and I thought that was good!
  17. This is my 2022 Heated L&K Screen stamp........I think the 'A61' is the heated code......
  18. Berisford replied to Hdsn555's topic in Skoda Karoq
As far as I’m aware any VCDS tweaks have effectively been neutered on recent models - certainly on our 22 Superb……..
  19. Well, has it, hasn’t it, does it matter? If it hasn’t unless you can get the seller to replace it then it is what it is. The clip may just have broken off, it does happen. There’s a very slight change in the engine note on our Superb when the heated screen is switched on due to the heavy load placed on the alternator………
  20. That was from a battery charger - as I was curious about how high the cars 'system' charges I checked yesterday after a 200 mile run - I gave the car 30 minutes to settle and then run a basic test - 'State of charge 98%' - 12.64v - 395amp out of a 420 rated battery. So the car's charging system does top up much higher than I thought - I did a similar test on our Superb and that (IIRC) only showed 66% - although that battery was replaced under warranty. Either way, I wouldn't like to letting either of our Skodas stand for 4 weeks - my trusty old 2010 Golf however..........not a problem. In my garage / yard I leave the Karoq unlocked when I know it's not required for a couple of weeks or so because I've convinced myself it doesn't 'run down' as quick - I'm thinking the Kessy system must drain a bit whilst constantly awaiting / searching for a command?
  21. 2 weeks standing (unlocked) from full charge can see our 2024 Karoq battery down to 35%..........still more than enough to start the car but I consider that to be quite a drain?
  22. Back to original topic / query..........when you get the wrong speed limit warning is the sat nav showing exactly where you are or is that wrong too?
  23. Similar here on our 2024 SEL.........only way the arrows can be displayed in the middle is if I cancel the dials......
  24. Do what I do - keep pressing any and all of those buttons until you find the right combination - I appreciate the tech on cars tries to be all things to all men but struth, far too complicated....?
  25. We have both, Superb Estate and 1.5 SEL Karoq - The ride in the Superb is much better and it has more toys, that said I'm happy to take either - the Karoq is jiggly and as 'logiclee' points out it does bang and crash a bit on the rear, also it can be difficult to drive smoothly in urban traffic, however, the fuel economy of the 1.5 is remarkable.
