FL VRS?
Anyone got any info on the FL petrol VRS release date? Saw something on Facebook the other day about November for the FL VRS iV, but nothing on the full fat petrol.

Automatic locking system override
Just tried plugging VCDS into our 2023 Kamiq but I haven't got the latest VCDS interface so couldn't access the controller. If I were that bothered it's the route I would follow though.

Automatic locking system override
I would imagine this can be permanently disabled by coding using VCDS or similar, but its not clear if that would satisfy the OP. Garage probably won't do it without nod from Skoda that they will accept any resulting liability and Skoda UK won't want to give that.

Mark 4 facelift release date !
Anyone heard anything about when the F/L VRS will be open to orders?

Kamiq Dog Guard
Fits nicely with no rattles after a couple of months, parcel shelf works fine with the guard in place. Should be fairly easy to take the guard out again quickly if the full load space required.

Facelift VRS
https://www.facebook.com/share/995G9Ki97xvhWZaR/ Looks like the petrol VRS is getting a power hike to 265hp like the Golf GTI?

Spare Wheel conformity?
Kamiq is 5x100 whereas Octavia is 5x112. So wheels not interchangeable.

Kamiq Dog Guard
Ok going to pull the trigger on the Guardsman. As far as I can see it lets you use the parcel shelf which is useful when not carrying the dog.

Kamiq Dog Guard
Any advice on the best dog guard for the Kamiq? I like the look of the Guardsman one, which seems keenly priced compared to Travall/Skoda.

Battery Life
Thanks for responses. I appreciate battery life depends on many factors but I was trying to get a feel if the beefier batteries fitted for stop/start are showing any trend towards lasting longer (or indeed shorter).

Battery Life
Got a 2017 VRS 245 Manual (F/L) 50K miles on the original battery. When are people finding batteries fitted from new on the Octy 3 need replacing? Car doesn't do much stop/start as generally used out of heavy traffic.

Bevel box oil leak
So I guess I should share what I think I've learnt. Bevel Box (aka transfer box) if overfilled with oil will vent it out the top of the box and make a mess. If changing the oil it holds 0.9L This doesn't seem to be "fill til dribbling back out the filling hole". Use new fill/drain plugs. Oil is not the same stuff as the gearbox. Bevel box is a lot of money to replace, can be bought used, (part is shared with many other VW group models) but beware big labour costs if fitting a used part without knowing for sure it's good. Don't let a main dealer near it unless it's covered by a warranty.

Bevel box oil leak
Now almost convinced the bevel box was never leaking, apart from maybe from the vent on top, and that could have been years ago. The thing is a licence for garages to print money as far as I can see.

Gearbox, transfer box and diff oil
Gearbox (GL4) is different to transfer box and diff (GL5) I believe.

Bevel box oil leak
@Crasher Thanks - do you have any info on approx labour time to remove and replace seals?

Bevel box oil leak
So......got round to looking at this today. Definitely evidence of dry oil residue on the bevel box housing but couldn't see any obvious leak. You can access the filler plug with the car on an axle stand with the offside front wheel off. Its a bit of a pain, I found the o/s front wheel arch liner had to come out and there's a guard on the inner driveshaft joint that needs to come off. Put maybe 250ml top up of oil in. Cleaned the oil residue off, will keep an eye on it.

Bevel box oil leak
Basically Skoda said up to £3000 to fix. When I said I would sell the car if it was that ballpark they told me not to worry about (literally). Never offered to top it up but as usual I spoke to the guy behind a desk, not the technician. Seen a couple of videos on the web for other VW group cars and looks pretty simple if you have a car lift....

Bevel box oil leak
Hi 2017 L&K 1.4 4x4 has been to the local Skoda dealer for a service and the healthcheck video pointed out an oil leak from the bevel box...is it difficult to top this up? Dealers estimate to fix was predictably ruinous, but don't want it to run dry...

MK3 245 vrs reliability? Skoda still quality?
Not sure on this - but certainly my MK2 FL VRS had EML issues on carbon build up and sticky inlet flaps by 45k miles which I haven't seen on the 245 at similar miles. Water pump is the only issue I've had. Had mine replaced under extended warranty but would have been a big bill otherwise.

Dog Guard 2017 VRS Estate
So looking to get a dog guard for behind the rear head rests and a divider. Travall and Guardsman both do kits at a similar price, any good points/bad points to consider? In both cases the divider only seems to allow a 50/50 split, does the Skoda accessories one allow different splits? It's quite a bit more expensive....

VRS 2015 Losing Coolant
I had all the thermostat housing/water pump mullarkey last year, thankfully had a five year warranty from new. Anyone know if the replacement parts they are fitting now will last any longer than the originals?

CD player required
Has it got an aux connection? If so can you still buy a CD Walkman? The external computer CD/DVD drive is a good call as potentially powered by the USB, but will the current head unit actually recognise a traditional (ie not MP3/WMA) CD?
