Gandalf's Evolution
Gandalf went in for the 75k service today - clean bill of health. 👍🏽 Car has done 64k km. Plenty of life left in the factory rotors + pads. Guess I'll b holding off for a lot longer for those dba T2 rotors and pads. Brake fluid flushed and replaced. Tyres good (replaced last year). Battery good (replaced last year under warranty). Factory wipers still in good condition. My 5 yr warranty has come to an end. Here's to another 5 yrs 🍻

Comparing infotainment systems (2017 vs 2018)
Yup, that's basically wat I said. MIB2 Columbus with the 8" screen was available on MY15 to MY17. I have it on my MY17. If u want proper VC with full function maps, then u want an MIB2.5 unit.

Comparing infotainment systems (2017 vs 2018)
2017 has the MIB2 Columbus unit, with buttons and an 8" screen. 2018 onwards has the MIB2.5 Columbus unit, without buttons and the larger 9.2" screen. If u want the Virtual Dash cluster, u need to have the MIB2.5 unit.

Does the Sportline have stiffer suspension?
It applies to other briskoda members who still have factory 19s. Most of the Superb Sportlines come with the same spec 19" wheels. Doesn't matter if they're the Vega or Supernova or Trinity version - they all have the same width, same offset, wearing the same tyre profile (235/40/19).
-
So then….
Lol, I was going to mention the same earlier - "the mirror saw something it didn't like, and cracked itself!!!" 😆
-
Does the Sportline have stiffer suspension?
It's the factory 19s, with the same specs, and tyres - so we're comparing apples with apples. Thought so. Mine is sitting at 668mm now, after being lowered. No, the Sportline with DCC and a non-Sportline with DCC, like mine, is the same height, i.e. 690mm, from factory, with the 19s. Anything DCC is lower than Standard. Likewise, Sportline without DCC is also lower than Standard. Standard means no adaptive (DCC) suspension.
-
Does the Sportline have stiffer suspension?
Strange. Ur Sportline is stock height, at 670mm? And ur running the factory 19" Vega wheels? I know of others with Sportline, DCC and 19" Vega, who have measured 690mm, which is wat mine was also, before being lowered.
-
Does the Sportline have stiffer suspension?
The Superb has 4 flavours when it comes to suspension setup 1. Standard setup. Standard shocks + standard springs 2. Sportline setup. Standard shocks + sport springs 3. Adaptive setup. DCC shocks + springs. 4. Sportline Adaptive setup. DCC shocks + sport springs The DCC shocks r 15mm lower than standard. The Sportline Setup is also 15mm lower. It's is still unclear how much lower the Sportline Adaptive setup is from Standard.

Wireless charger gets really hot (and so does phone)
I don't use the wireless charging if I'm going to b driving 2-3 hrs straight because my phone (Pixel 5) gets too hot. I plug it in via the charging cable. On trips less than hr, the wireless charging mat is good enough to keep the phone at the same charge level, at a minimum, while using wireless Android Auto.

Vehicle status code
No, its not a direct replacement. The unit will physically fit, but wiring harness is different for both inner and outer units. If ur getting the chrome or black strip that goes across, then u'll need that trim piece plus new RVC, and the boot button to go with it. Once all done, u'll need coding done so it does the proper startup and shutdown light sequence.
-
Vehicle status code
i understood that bit - Kodiaq to Superb. wat i don't get it why u want the code for the new facelift Superb when u seem to have a pre-facelift Superb. with the tail lights - no, the tail lights r different between sedan and wagon variants.
-
Vehicle status code
so do u have a facelift Superb? cause if u did, why did u "upgrade" backwards to a MIB2.5 unit when the facelifts comes with the new MIB3 units? if u have a pre-facelift which u upgraded to the MIB2.5 unit, then why would u want to use the new facelift code/picture? makes no sense......

Rear USB ports..
This is the one I got. I just didn't put the lid bit. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/114847975255?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=fpFyzQMMT3O&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=lD_jGR-4Tj6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Central Compartment: Lost Bank Card
Tis fairly easy to remove the black trim on the side. On the far right, u'll c a small plastic cover (#1), that can b popped out using a small flathead screwdriver. This will reveal a torx screw (#2) that u remove. Once the screw is out, u simply slide and pull out the trim (#3) gradually.
-
Rear USB ports..
I've put double USB ports in place of the 12V port. See here - Originally I planned to retrofit a fully fledged (Android Auto & CarPlay capable) USB port inside the centre arm rest console, like the factory option, but it requires more hardware and more trim removal. So I ended chosing this alternate way.

For my Blackvue dashcam I used fuse location #47-Rear Window Wiper. It's only powered on Ignition.

Cutting wheel arch longer to allow access to change bulbs
I agree, an access panel, from the wheel arch, of sort would b so handy. I don't have the skills to fabricate one unfortunately.

Gandalf's Evolution
I don't know if that would b the case. I just made sure I had no trapped air by using a squeegee, and stretching the vinyl as I laid it down.
