Tow bar
It could have been fitted AFAIK to you model/year but you would have to check the option codes on the sticker in your service book or under the lining in your boot. Without the Skoda magic yes, all connections can be made in the boot.

Tow bar
I bought both of mine from ebay, shipped from Poland. Fitting was straightforward but fiddly; it takes a bit of ferreting to locate all the bumper mounting bolts. I went for a euro-13 socket but it's a lot cheaper just going for the UK 7-pin version. Electrics should come as a magic box and wiring, just follow the instructions. BTW if you want to add the Skoda "towing magic" options (assuming they're available on your model) you'll have to fork out for Mr Skoda's expen$ive electrics. Footnote: make sure you order the correct tow hitch - especially if you have parking assist on your vehicle.

Advice please; small-medium sized hatchback for my sister near Blairgowrie in Scotland
My sister has had a small windfall and is looking for a small to medium hatchback car for local running about. She lives in the hills north of Blairgowrie so poor weather performance is relevant. She has been looking at Audi A3 / Golf / Fabia models and has found the one below; a bit over her preferred budget of £2k but it looks clean enough. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202206277208445?radius=100&include-delivery-option=on&advertising-location=at_cars&sort=relevance&price-to=3500&year-to=2022&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&postcode=ph107jp&annual-tax-cars=TO_30&page=9&percentVehiclePriceDeposit=true Any advice out there, please? (BTW @AnnoyingPentium, @Breezy_Pete, @roottootplus any others welcome to leap in

Drivetrain Noise... Your Opinion.
Is it possible that the noise is still coming from the front hub area but disappears when coasting as it's no longer under load?

Buying a replacement front bumper for Octavia Estate II A5
How extensive, and particularly, how far back is the damage? I replaced a front wing and headlamp plus bracketry on our 1.9tdi and had some fun with the small brackets that connect three ways at the back of the headlamp mount. They connect together the inner wing (welded onto the chassis), the back of the headlamp platform and the inside of the wing. Great fun working out whereabouts in 3D space everything should go and applying some kinetic and torsion persuasion to the piece of the inner wing that had been pushed out of alignment,

Buying a replacement front bumper for Octavia Estate II A5
If you're hunting for e new bumper you need the version described as "bumper cover for vehicles with parking aid", part number 1Z0807221B, catalog entry HERE. From my own experience of playing bumpers I don't believe you should have any problems starting with a plain bumper and drilling the holes for the parking sensors; the difficulties arise when you're working with a bumper that has headlamp washers fitted. Given that you will have to respray a replacement bumper blade if you buy new, I'd go hunt the scrappies for one in either your colour or close enough that a rattlecan respray should work OK. If you're going to do the replacement yourself remember you will need the plastic rivets as they're not reuseable. BTW have you checked for damage to the bumper mounts also? The two plastic top supports that run between bumpwe and wing can be a bit fragile. Part #7 in the diagram.

Octavia 1 TDi 90 Scrapyard rescued, crossover? ALH with AXR spec.
Happily bow to your superior knowledge I was going on a something I was told some time back but haven't verified since.

Octavia 1 TDi 90 Scrapyard rescued, crossover? ALH with AXR spec.
Octy 1s in taxi spec were still available until (IIRC) 2011 in certain outlets, and the standard taxi spec motor was the ALH. As far as I understand there were no changes to the models after the mk2 came out so if that holds any mk1 from 2005 onwards would be the same. Worth some checking on the parts catalogues to verify this. For a nigh on 20-year-old car she's looking pretty good! Mucho elbow grease on the polishing, no doubt

Setting up a shared folder on Windows 10 to be accessible from Windows 7
An apparently simple task, you would think? Despite extensive Googling{tm} I can't make it work 😞 Following instructions, I've Shared a folder on the Win10 PC. I've tried to add the Win7 laptop as a sharer but despite following the syntax - \\<name of win7 pc>\<name of win7 pc user> Win10 keeps telling me it can't see win7pc. I've also checked in win10 network neighbourhood and whilst I can see the win7pc and even win7pc\user I can't connect to either. Help!

Selling Privately: Marketplace, AutoTrader, Ebay or Gumtree?
As a start to the process I suggest asking someone like Parkers for an idea of value (or autotrader perhaps) and then list it on here with an honest description of its condition, imminent repairs etc. Even if you don't make a sale via that route you should gain some helpful feedback on how best to proceed. Bear in mind the impact of pollution zones in the areas where you wish to sell, and also note that at the moment used cars are selling at a premium but the motor trade news from China suggest the bottlenecks on new cars are easing which will lead to a softening of the used car market.

Mercedes recall on some older cars with a possible brake issue

Front wings
Unfortunately not. The headlamp shapes are different; look at the angles on the rear edge of the lenses.

New driver's seat needed...what will fit?
Photos I can do, to follow. Bear in mind I don't have a definitive timescale - but soon. Hopefully over half term. Pricewise - free to a fellow Brisky, although you'll have to get a travel visa to come to our side of the Pennines

We may be able to help. I'm going to fit vrs seats to my wife's Ambiente tdi and as long she's happy with them we'll have a set of standard seats going begging.

Tailgate struts topic on hatch, again
According to the parts cat HERE there are several variants of the main part number - 1Z5 827 550. I've included the decoded option codes below and whilst I could understand a weight variance depending on the rear wiper fitments I can't see how the colour of the side windows would make a difference? The VRS struts are on the same part number but two different variants - both including the spoiler. I'm confused! 8M0 = W/o rear window wiper and washer system 8M1 = Rear window wiper and washer system with intermittent control 4KA = Side and rear windows in clear glass 4KC = Side and rear windows in heat-insulatingglass 4KV = Side and rear windows in laminated glass Looking at the entry on skoda-parts.com for the RS struts it suggests that the rating of the struts does change according to the all-up weight of the hatch.

Driveshaft part numbers?? Cannot find them anywhere!
You'll need to be more specific as there are a number of different options. Engine code and gearbox code are key; take a look at the sticker in your service book or under the carpet by the spare wheel well. This LINK lists all the drive shafts for a 2010 Octavia 2 if you want to take a look.

Take a look at www.skoda-parts.com. Their pricing is usually pretty good so even allowing for delivery and VAT they may be competitive.
