Skoda only gave updates for five years for certain units. Shockingly short IMO.

+1 for Bosch Aerotwin's. I'm also a bit out in the sticks and travel down a lot of country roads most days. The only issue I've noticed is sometimes there's wiper drag when clearing the rear screen when it's cold. Maybe that's because there's not enough pressure from the wiper arm on the rear?

Part number from mine which is a 2014 1.6TDI. 1K0906627B @Breezy_Pete might be able to run it. A quick Google says turbo pressure solenoid valve. It's got three what appear to be vacuum pipes. One runs to the air intake post air filter.

Correct orientation. The air filter box is to the left. It's attached to the firewall. No idea what it's for though but hopefully someone does.

Any access via the grille to the latch? There's a few videos on YouTube if you've not yet looked. On my MkI Fabia I had the same issue years ago and the cable inside the car needed a really good tug to get it open - I used Mole Grips on the cable. Fingers crossed for you.

There was a fantastic amount of confusion on this forum when Skoda released the MkII Fabia. They named the trim levels as 1, 2 and 3. People were wondering why owners were posting in the MkI forum with their MkII level 1 spec cars and others arguing there was no MkIII Fabia 🤣

Almost certainly not. When the next completely new version of any model is announced, then a new sub section will be created. Facelift models are always included in the original model forums.
