  1. Its under the carpet probably corroded connections from water ingress
  2. Probably dirt on the switch contacts try electonic cleaner spray, are the hazards working? Have you ruled out fuses and relays?
  3. Hi high beam on these are halogen, low beam xenon, when mine stopped working it was the ballast attached to the under side of the lamp, start with the easy stuff to check fuses, swapping bulbs to rule these out and only work on it disconnected from power there is very high voltage. HELLA 5DV 008 290-004 Ballast, gas discharge lamp
  4. As above Passat B5/B5.5 there may be some differences indicator possibly
  5. These cars all leak water into the cabin through multiple failure points (pollen filter housing seal, doors plates, sunroof drains blocked, ecu housing seal, bonnet release cable seal to name a few) and they will lead to electrical nightmares of wiring corrosion if left unattended, do yourself a favour and have a read of that thread it could save you a lot especially if you recently got the car and dont know its history.
  6. Door locks are a common fault check ebay for replacements, get the battery tested under load to see if it needs replacing. Have you checked the car for water ingress?
  7. S0054040020-Electrical_System.pdfCentral control unit for convenience system -J393- Check Page 129 of this possibly corrsion from water ingress, have you scanned it for fault codes? The control unit is located in front of the driver seat under the floor covering
  8. Have a look at the B5/B5.5 Passat options they may fit.
  9. Are you sure the culprit is not the alternator clutch pulley?
  10. You need a new shifter handle right hand drive 3U2713139A ( the letter will denote the trim on it just go for the cheapest/available one)
  11. Use the search function with keywords 2.0PD 140, Oil pump drive etc you will find plenty there to keep you reading for the afternoon, filter for Superb Mk1 only so it limits the results
  12. Check the fuse could be that simple, but with these cars more likely wiring corrsion due to water ingress. Go onto Erwin and pay for an hour about €7.00 you should be able to download all the applicable info for the car.
  13. Look at the Passat B5.5 for some ideas that might work, stock fogs are in the headlight.
  14. Welcome to the forum, tumbleweeds blowing through here of late, have you addressed the oil pump drive issue with that engine?
  15. Sounds like there is a drain on the battery when its parked and/or the alternator is not charging it. Have you read the stickied water ingress thread at the top all of these cars leak water inside and will create a world of electrical problems if not caught early and repaired properly.
  16. Pure Drive? If its a MK1 it will be a 2.0PD (Pumpe Düse) 140 not sure on the DPF they did arrive around then engine code would sort it.
  17. Read the stickied water ingress thread at the top of the page from start to finish, just because the drain under the battery is working water can still enter the car through the pollen filter housing if it has not been sealed correctly. Other places are through the window regulator panel you will notice the sill being wet after rain.
  18. You will get a better response if you move the post to the Mk3 section no estates in the first gen.
  19. Door lock on its last legs probably especially its original, they will all fail eventually with cracked solder joints, if you haven't addressed the the water ingress points with corrective action you will get water in the car eventually and subsequent electrical issues related to same, these cars all leak not a matter of if but when, have a good read of the thread stickied at the top. Door locks can be got on ebay but some are of dubious quality pays your money and take your choice in that regard.
  20. +1 on Ken above, look in up in Bosch, Valeo or other decent brand for each application and then compare part numbers, mounting, output etc
  21. Probably build up of crud in the indicator switch contacts, maybe try some electrical contact cleaner, google the issue with the Passat B5.5 you might get some more hits.
  22. Have you ever changed the gearbox oil? That would be a starting point (make sure you can undo the filler before you drain it! they are usually hex key type plugs possibly 17mm), will probably take approx 3 litres fill slowly till it starts to come back out the the hole (car level), see a Skoda or VW dealer for the correct spec oil and capacity, its not expensive. Has the clutch been replaced? Clutch Slave, Master cylinder? Not sure if its cable shift or rods on the Superb mine is auto, there could be a wear issue with them. Get on to ERWIN and pay for an hours access €7 you can download all the manuals in that time.
