  1. And on closer investigation they found your post had no point either...
  2. There was quite a spate of those being lost, sometimes soon after purchase, on early Yetis. Some previous threads on the subject may be worth a read: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/384404-roof-rail-caps/ http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/306396-roof-rail-end-caps/
  3. That's what I'm assuming. Hopefully they'll remember to reserve the tables this time...
  4. I've got an earlier version of this Ring compressor - http://www.ringautomotive.com/uk/products/Cars/Tyre+Care/Air+Compressors/RAC630 - and it does the job fine. I'd buy another if it gave up (had it around four years I think). I tend to keep tyre pressures a little higher than standard, though on my all seasons just having it 0.1 bar over the standard 2.2 all round (on the Yeti) has been good. On the previous summer tyres it handled best midway between the light load and fully loaded/speed values - that's with just me in the car and no luggage, as it felt too soft otherwise. The current tyres have a higher rating (98 XL vs 94) so don't need quite the same pressure to get the performance.

    Roofbox

Mine could go further back without fouling the tailgate, by maybe three inches. That would leave 15 inches to the leading roof edge, so your box would project another nine inches, not that much further than now. The roof looks a similar length, but the longer bonnet and sloping tailgate make up the extra car length.

    Roofbox

This is my Yeti with a Kamei Delphin 380. The box is just over five foot (5' 2" or 1.57m) and doesn't reach as far as the screen. This is about the only side on shot I have of it. I have it just touching the rear aerial, and I've just measured that distance as 6' (1.83m) from the back of the box to the leading edge of the roof.

  8. Maybe something in this thread - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/245562-failed-yeti-clutch-cylinder As I mentioned in that thread I had this on my Octavia in its first year - dealer replaced the master cylinder.
  9. Orange & black - best colour combo - stunning
  10. I'm really pleased with mine, though in a wider 225/50/17 profile (98V XL). They've been on since the end of August, and have done a bit over 6k miles now. Absolutely brilliant in the damp & wet, though I discovered that they do have their limits when the Haldex clutch pump failed and started to get some wheelspin on slippery surfaces. The 8mm depth marker has worn out on the front, but is still just about visible on the rears, so wear seems good. In the dry you can get them to break grip on hard cornering, but it lets go very progressively and gives predictable handling. No snow worth mentioning this winter, so I can't comment on that, other than my previous winter tyres were Nokian (WR A3s) and snow handling with those was excellent. As the Weatherproofs are winter tyres developed for all year round use i can't see them performing any worse than the old ones. When I manage to keep the revs down they do gives slightly better mpg than the Dunlop SP01s that they replaced, and they are quieter and give a less ponderous feel to the steering. If I had to replace them now, it would be with another set of the same, so I reckon they're good!
  11. Doing more miles than me. Mine rolled over 48K on Friday but is a year older - June '12. Just as happy with it though
  12. The thing is that is quite representative of what it actually looks like in the right (wrong) conditions. Most of the time it's not visible, and it does need to be pretty much side on to see - which is why I didn't notice for some time after getting it back. Given that it's going back to Skoda to get both rear doors looked at - same blistering under the paint - I'm wondering what I'll end up with. Maybe the first Harlequin Yeti!
  13. I wasn't happy with the respray on my driver's door - done under warranty due to the zinc inclusion/paint blistering issue - but not spotted until a while later. Most of the time it looks fine, but strong light can show a difference, as below. That could be down to the VW bodyshop Skoda used for the repair, as the swirls and marks they put into the rest of the paintwork while doing the door makes me think they weren't bothered about a quality finish :(
  14. First wave in months today, coming back to Wetherby, from another Muscovado classic owner. There were definitely more returned waves in the early days...
  15. Looks like it should be this - and doesn't look like road damage :(
  16. I thought all the classic Yetis were Haldex gen 4, with the facelift being gen 5. The article suggests they are the same on the exterior.
  17. That took a while to twig - schoolboy French came back to me at last - poisson d'avril Quite why that has stuck in my head all these years I don't know! There's a car round here with a L1RPA plate, which always reminds me of the Lirpa Loof hoax on That's Life (back when that schoolboy French was still relatively fresh)
  18. Just so! I found it was only too easy to prove it wasn't working. Pulling out of damp, gritty side roads to get up to speed with traffic triggered wheelspin every time. Fortunately as I have VCDS I was able to confirm my suspicions.

Entering into a new market segment: market launch of the ŠKODA Snowman Sharp lines surround sculpturally carved-out surfaces - many of the exterior design features pay homage to traditional Czech crystal glass art.
  20. Hmm, I recently had the same error, but as the car is still under warranty it went back to the dealers who chose option b. They had done the haldex clutch oil change at the service last year, but I wonder if cleaning the filter is included.
  21. I recently had the same on my Yeti. Spinning front wheels and a distinct lack of progress at junctions & roundabouts when it was wet. Took it to the dealers (still in the extended warranty period) and they diagnosed a failed haldex clutch pump (funny that). The unit was replaced and it's now as good as new.
  22. Yes, and I stand by my choice Probably shouldn't admit to this, but I had a dream (as a kid, I hasten to add) in which my hair had somehow been dyed green with orange sides. I got used to the comments from the other kids at school, and by the time I woke up I was really proud of the combo. I was very disappointed to find out it had just been a dream when I looked in a mirror after getting up!!!
  23. "This week I will be mostly filling up" - JES1E - on a purple Bentley Continental at my local Shell A '******' in a Merc - SAL4D - near York ^^^^^ Edit - Someone who performs the act of tossing a salad! Didn't expect the filter to cut in on that one...
  24. Green and orange are a good combo - no clash at all. After all these have sold well for decades...
  25. The same offer is at my dealers - looks to be UK wide. This seems to be the unit - http://www.kenwood-electronics.co.uk/car/oem/skoda/GVN-MIB1/?view=details Doesn't look like it's suitable for the Yeti though, as the product page states it fits these models: Octavia (SF) - Year 2013 > Fabia (NJ) - Year 2014 > Superb (3rd Gen) - Year 2015 >
