Fuel leak - Greenline II Estate
Lee replied to harry vederci's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Yes, that's the fuel filter. Sorry, can't help with the part no. -

It pains me to admit this but years ago I was caught by a speed camera coming off a dual-carriageway to a single lane road doing around 90mph in my MK1 vRS. Obviously I was ready for the book to be thrown at me but, amazingly, Cornwall Police sent a very polite letter saying (something like) "As this is a first offence we are on an initiative to educate rather than drag people through the Courts so see this a a polite warning and any further infringement will be dealt with accordingly".

Fabia vRS Air Conditioning and DSG issues...
Lee replied to Noris's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Same here - had mine from new. When I first had it I took the supplying dealer's Service Manager for a drive in an attempt to identify an intermittent rattle. After hearing it he said many vRSs do that (with the 7-speed DSGs) in a similar fashion to the dry clutches on a Ducati. -
Have a look at the Chips Away service. https://www.chipsaway.co.uk/

It's a shame Skoda never offered proper gas discharge headlamps on the MK2 Fabia. Had them on my MK1 vRS and they made a huge difference at night.
-
They may already do it but Skoda should offer a "collapsible" spare to save even more space and weight.

Wiper Blade part number for early 12 plate
Lee replied to Plantman's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Perhaps not eight but certainly two on the rear wiper. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/388364-rear-wiper-change/?hl=%2Bwiper+%2Bblade#entry4528137 -
The PD engines have to use 505.01 oil as that specification includes extra wear additives for the increased shear forces on the cam-driven fuel pump follower. Ignore at your peril.

vRS is 6.6l from empty.

Official VAG USB cable code is AZO 800 002. Probably non-VAG versions available on Amazon etc.

If the throttle position sensor(s) is/are faulty the system will deactivate the cruise control.

Advice on spark plugs, oil & tyres for 2013 vRS please?
Lee replied to SeaGoat's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I would avoid the Dunlops. Even some Skoda Service Departments don't recommend them as they 'step' prematurely. Spend your money with Michelin and you won't go wrong. -
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/consumer-news/94753/dangers-of-illegal-hid-headlight-conversion-kits-explained Shame the MK2 wasn't offered with genuine gas discharge headlamps as an option. I miss them on my MK1 vRS!

Could be worth getting the lower gearbox mount, commonly known as the "dogbone" mount, checked. It's easy to see if it's wearing or worn and fairly straightforward to replace with the reasonably priced VAG part.

Maybe not a direct equivalent but QST seem to cover the VAG Group. http://www.qstuning.com/

Spare wheel & hockey puck jacking pads

32k and there is rarely anyone in the back seats anyway. Worth a call?

On a related subject, the ride height at the offside rear wheel appears to have 'sunk' a little, around an inch. Springs are original and standard. I've checked the spring and it does not appear to be damaged so would it be worth a trip to have it looked at properly?
