Karoq handbook - where's the download button?
Yep... they seem to have updated the webpage for some reason. If I look for the owners manual for a Karoq built in 2020/07 for the 'Other' market, in English all I get is an online copy of the manual with no obvious way to download it. BUT... if I enter my car's VIN on the first page it then takes me to a completely different page with a PDF version of the manual I can download More Simply Clever updates we don't need! Chris

Skoda Roadside Assistance
Currently Skoda UK and the dealers seem to be offering a free renewal for the Roadside Assistance when you book your annual service online. This of course makes the servicing costs rather more reasonable! Chris

Skoda Roadside Assistance
Skoda used to give you a paper handbook describing the scheme and the phone numbers to call. However this now seems to be out of print (unless your dealer still has a copy). But if you go to Roadside Assistance | ŠKODA UK (skoda.co.uk) you can find the details and download your own copy of the handbook. Chris

MY21 Amundsen Map update procedure
Your best bet is to ask in this thread Amundsen Mib2 Map Updates 2021 - Skoda Audio, Electronics and Security - BRISKODA which covers your MIB2 system. Chris

MY21 Sportline and no cd player
PetrolDave is correct. The Media app will read MP2, MP3, WMA, AAC, M4A, OGG, FLAC, WAV, etc audio files, so just about anything you can throw at it. My iTunes library holds my music in mP3 and WMA files. And my USB stick is a Integral 128GB Fusion Dual USB-C & USB 3.1 Flash Drive - 200MB/s (see at Integral 128GB Fusion Dual USB-C & USB 3.1 Flash Drive - 200MB/s £20.96 - Free Delivery | MyMemory) which is small enough to sit in the USB-C port under the sliding flap to the phonebox compartment. MY21 Sportline and no cd player
None mentioned in the manual, as long as you use VFAT, FAT16, FAT322, exFAT or NTFS format. I'm using a tiny 128GB memory stick in mine with a USB-C connector one end and a USB-A the other so I can load it on my PC then plug it into the car. Chris

MY21 Sportline and no cd player
I have replaced my data cds with a USB-C memory stick to store my music collection. The Media player in my MIB3 Amundsen finds tracks easily, by artist, album or genre, and you can also store these as favourites for quick access. Note that the favourite can also be an artist or genre as well as a single album. There's no way to link an iPod that I have found. Chris

Connect Lite trip data
I used to have the same problem with the VW app and my Golf. Sometimes it even stopped recording partway through a journey, so I always kept paper records rather than rely on it's recorded data. Chris

Cruise control/driving slowly?
According to the owner's manual for my car (version 2020/07): Speed range Depending on the equipment, ACC allows a speed setting in the range of 30-160 or 30-210 km/h. If control is started at a speed of less than 30 km/h on vehicles with an automatic transmission, the speed is automatically increased to 30 km/h or controlled according to the speed of the vehicle ahead. 30 kph is around 18mph, and so if the car accelerates to that speed if you engage the cruise control at a slower speed, using it on a camp site is definitely NOT advised The speed limiter also only works from 30kph, so I'd suggest your best option is to drive on idle at walking pace. Rear Fog LIghts
UK cars only require one rear fog light on the off-side, legally, and the Karoq follows this practice. It contains three LEDs for all trim levels as far as I'm aware. Chris

Paint Code
According to this thread: Steel Grey & Meteor Grey - Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 onward) - BRISKODA they could well be UK and European names for the same colour? Chris

Paint Code
The paper label that used to be stuck in the service book and boot seem to have been done away with. But the ErWin computer system will tell you if you buy an hour's membership and input your VIN, or Horton's website at SKODA Karoq 2017 to present Touch Up Paint | Horton ŠKODA (theskodashop.co.uk) will give it if you know the name of the colour. It should also be quoted on your initial invoice if you bought the car from new. Chris

SOS Error Message
According to a post in the Skoda Karoq Facebook group, one sufferer was told it was due to low voltage disabling the eSim, and blamed on the car being left unused for a time due to lockdowns. If so, perhaps the faults will disappear now we're able to drive more again?? Chris

Karoq 1.5 Rear Mud Flaps
Mine went on as described in the instructions, and I seem to remember the plastic expanding rivets were very tight to push home. Are you using the right holes in the wheel arch? There's a thread with details about fitting mud flaps at Karoq - Fitting Mud Flaps Instructions - Skoda Karoq Guides - BRISKODA that I found very helpful. Chris

Three design sketches offer a first glimpse of the revised ŠKODA KODIAQ
I was watching the Tour of the Basque Country on Eurosport this afternoon, and trying to identify the Skoda Race Support vehicles. I'm now wondering if they were using the new Kodiaqs before their official launch??

DRL with Stripes error
It was offered in the menu for my Karoq, but when I tried to use it I was told it wasn't supported. The same for the pulsating light on the start/stop button and the comfort turn signals. But the fan speed is shown when on auto, and it disabled the soundaktor. Chris

MY21 Amundsen Map update procedure
Well I've had a system update and map update without my dealer activating the lock-unlock feature. In fact that was a sore point because I specifically asked the sales manager to activate it when I picked my car up, and he categorically denied it was necessary. And when I told what I'd been reading from other owners he told me it must have been because they were buying demo cars! Sure enough I don't have the remote lock/unlock feature working, but the honk and flash, parking spot and car status all do. But having thought about it some more, I've decided a remote lock-unlock feature may be more of a security hazard than a benefit anyway. Chris

system update mib 3
But are you in the UK? Skoda UK tell me that the online updates are for the country you're in. So if you're in Europe (an assumption based on you using Km rather than miles) then you'll be presumably updating a different country's map to us and so it could well show a different version number?? Chris

system update mib 3
My car was delivered in Nov 2020 with the 19:11 database, but updated itself online to 20:09 last month. (I don't recall having to go into the menus to do this.) I've put the delay in installing the updates down to the covid lockdowns as I've only been driving for about 30 minutes each week, and I'm assuming it won't download the data unless the ignition is on. MY21 eSIM, Internet and Skoda-connect remote access
The e-SIM is built in and gives you access to the Skoda Connect services - as long as you have a mobile signal. The Remote Access service is free for the first year in MY21 cars, then costs 39€ to 60€ to renew annually. This is needed if you want to use the Skoda Connect app, although some of its functions are also available for free using the Connect Lite app and a dataplug instead. The Infotainment Online service is also free for the first year for MY21 cars, then costs 49€ to 70€ to renew annually. This is needed to have access to online voice control, traffic information, petrol prices, parking spaces and online map updates. (Skoda UK think we may be able to update the maps manually via the USB-C port later this year, but we can't at present. It should also let us import POIs and destinations/routes but not yet. The Emergency Call feature will be available for the life of the car, and the Breakdown Call and Information Call for the first 10 years. The additional dataplans via Cubic seem to be required if you want to buy services from the 'shop', such as news feeds or weather feeds, if you want to provide a WiFi hotspot in your car for your passengers to access the internet, or if you want to listen to WebRadio. (However I have found that connecting the car to your own mobile phone and its dataplan rather than the built-in e-SIM will get the WebRadio to work.) It took me several months to realise why the advertised WebRadio wasn't working, and I have not seen any warnings in Skoda brochures or manuals that you needed to pay for an extra dataplan to make it work! Chris
