Available as a free download on ŠKODA’s infotainment system, In Tune works by monitoring interior cabin noises that sit outside of set audible reference points – a scale or specific notes for example. At the point deviations from these references occur the system digitally corrects the pitch of the singer’s voice and plays it back seamlessly in real-time through the in-car sound system. Research from ŠKODA revealed that 100% of drivers* admit to regularly attempting to sing along to their favourite songs while driving. Therefore, this latest addition to ŠKODA’s digital entertainment offering is sure to come to the rescue of drivers and passengers up and down the country that suffer in silence next to those who believe they are the next Beyoncé or Rick Astley. The software, that has been developed by ŠKODA’s in-house sound engineers, also has the ability to record the driver’s singing so they can play back their perfectly-calibrated vocals to their (soon to be ex) friends. Carrie O’Key, ŠKODA’s Head of Vehicle Audio, said: “The UK’s ongoing lockdown situation is straining families and friendships, and with the prospect of kids back at home for the Easter holidays tensions are likely to run high. “We know music is good for the soul but caterwauling certainly is not. This software will hopefully add some much-needed light-hearted fun to every essential car journey.” To find out more about ŠKODA’s range and available technologies, visit www.skoda.co.uk - Ends - *100% of zero people were interviewed for this utterly pointless survey.

As you say, not to everyone's taste.... but surely rear brake lights and indicators are fitted to let other drivers know what you are doing, so why make them more difficult to see???? Or don't you use indicators and brakes???

And mine is the Android, v4.0.3, last update 26/3/2021. Chris
  4. CJJE replied to XVolvo's topic in Skoda Karoq
My Android version isn't as comprehensive as DSL's but under the Vehicle Status tab it tells me my oil change is due in 234 days or 8,999 miles and a Service Inspection due in 599 days or 19,599 miles. (As a new car it doesn't have a service record of course.) Chris

There have been 4 safety recalls for 2018 Karoqs, (see SKODA KAROQ 2018 - Check vehicle recalls - GOV.UK (check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk) ) so it would be worthwhile checking if any of these apply to you. If you enter your VIN in the Skoda website Recall actions (skoda-auto.com) you should get more info. If you use an independent service agent, are they registered with VAG or ERWIN? I think that allows them to use the ERWIN computer system to get detailed info about your car and its servicing needs. Chris
  6. I wondered about that, but thought I remembered complaints that it was an Android only app. But that would explain it Chris
  7. How odd. I see my app describes itself as "OBDeleven PRO diagnostics app VAG OBD2 Scanner" but seems to be the only version offered in the Play Store. I wonder if they've a different app for later Android versions? I'm on Android 9.
  8. My version is still 0.35.0, and was updated on 14th March 2021!!
  9. Sorry Blyfly, I have no direct experience of the analogue instrument panel, and the manual does not seem to mention it having a speed limit display. So it looks like you can only see them on the satnav screen . Is there are setting on its menu to show them perhaps? Chris
  10. According to the Safety Gate for dangerous non-food products (europa.eu) website a recall notice was issued on the 15th of March for Karoq and Kodiaq cars made between 29th June and 31st August 2020. It has not yet appeared on the DVLA website so it may not affect RHD cars. The Skoda recall code is 46i5 for anyone with access to that information. Car-Recalls.eu say about 14,097 cars are affected worldwide. The recall notice says: "Due to a manufacturing error, the brake-pedal plate for may not have been adequately welded and may be deformed and completely detached when the brake pedal is suddenly applied. As a result, the application of the brakes will be impaired, increasing the risk of an accident." Chris
  11. Karoqs can have either the Amundsen satnav (fitted to the SE L and Sportsline as standard) or Columbus (fitted to the Edition as standard, or others as an option). MY21 cars have the MIB3 versions of both as opposed to the earlier MIB2 units fitted to older cars. Do you have the digital instrument panel or the analogue version? Chris
  12. Which infotainment system? On my Amundsen, and Virtual Cockpit, I just set the display to show the speed limits in front of me. Chris
  13. You should get a quick introduction to the controls and software, although covid restrictions seem to be making this more difficult for dealers to do. Other than that, check that you have the options you've paid for, that there are no dents on the bodywork, and misaligned panels. Check that you have the umbrella under the passenger seat, the net system in the boot (if included in your model) the security 'key' to remove the locking wheel bolts, the plastic tool to remove the wheel bolt covers, as well as the jack and wheel wrench or tyre inflation kit if you didn't order a spare wheel. If you ordered the personalised key option, you should have three car keys instead of two. If you haven't had a KESSY car before, ask the dealer to show you how lock and unlock the car! As you have the VarioFlex rear seats, ask your dealer to show you how to adjust them. Then see how much fuel they've put in the tank and decide when you'll need to fill up. Dealers often seem to over-inflate tyres so it's probably worth while checking the pressures when you fill the tank. (The correct pressures are shown in the filling flap. You can download the owners manual from here: ŠKODA Owner's Manuals (skoda-auto.com) to get a head start on studying it. (And when I collected mine I found the paper copy with the car didn't have much information about the infotainment system and referred me to the downloaded copy!) Happy driving Chris

Not sure what you are asking... is there a typo in your post? If you have an order number and build week, your car should be built in the week commencing 5th April. It will then have to wait for a train to Emden in Germany (the port used by VAG for transporting their cars in and out of mainland Europe. It then waits for a car transporter ship to bring it to the UK (probably Immingham or Grimsby if you ordered it in Derbyshire). My car took about three weeks to get from the factory to my dealer last October/November, but covid lockdowns in Europe could affect this. Your dealer should keep you up to date with its progress (although mine didn't) or you can contact Skoda UK via their Twitter DM or their website for updates. You can get a headstart on familiarising yourself with your new car by downloading a copy of the owners manual from here: ŠKODA Owner's Manuals (skoda-auto.com) Note this is useful even when you get your car, as the paper copy in my car at least had little information about the infotainment system and just referred me to the downloaded copy! Chris
  15. Behind the central 'blank' area in the middle of the black plastic grill I believe. (Which is why the Skoda badge is mounted up on the bonnet and not in the middle of the grill as they used to be.) Chris
  16. No that will be the 2nd generation MIB2. MIB3 systems were introduced in the Karoq for MY21 cars (post summer 2020).
  17. CJJE replied to yosser65's topic in Skoda Karoq
I've seen another thread recently where owners have been reporting that their roll-up boot cover is losing tension and not fully retracting. Several have now had them replaced under warranty I believe.
  18. Hadn't spotted that, but you're right. And not in the EU yet, so have their own rules. Chris
  19. From the description it seems to warn you if you are driving down a road against the traffic flow. It mentions entering motorways to join the wrong carriageway... wonder if it also covers one way streets? Chris
  20. And not road legal from when they're fitted so could invalidate your insurance.
  21. CJJE replied to daver132's topic in Skoda Karoq
How can anyone answer this when we don't even know where you live, and which country you want to order a car in? But if you can find this forum, why not find the appropriate Skoda website and see for yourself?? Chris
  22. Not suggesting you should taste it, but does it seem more like water than diesel or petrol? You can certainly get condensation dripping from a cold silencer before it's heated up. Chris
  23. That explains why mine has no problems then. It's an old Samsung Galaxy S8 running Android 9. (But I doubt it's very expensive now as the trade-in / upgrade deals don't even mention it any more! Chris
  24. Mine just connects automatically via Bluetooth. Have you linked it to the car?
  25. That's interesting as when I enter my MY21 Karoq VIN (which as a MIB3 Amundsen, the portal insists I can use the MIB2 maps on an SD card! I'd assumed it only checked that the VIN was current, and a Karoq as it clearly didn't know I needed MIB3 maps. Chris
