  1. a heated windscreen is probably one of the handiest things you never knew you needed in your car until you have it, and then dont again..
  2. saw one on the road today. Ioniq 5, in a darkish silver metallic. it looks.... retro-futuristic? especially from the back. as in it wouldnt look out of place in an 80s movie set in the 2030s. kinda Judge Dredd / Robocop type cityscape? does that make sense? all the fake grills along the bottom of the sides and rear bumpers. its... i dunno. not necessarily ugly, but also fairly nondescript and forgetable.
  3. and instrument cluster... be a whole lot easier just find a good vr6 for sale...
  4. step one - pull the fuse for the rear wipers. this solved it for me (yup for the front ones) step two - dose the steering wheel stalk electricals with contact cleaner. step 3 - any recent work done on the linkage mechanism? there was a thread about 10days ago with something similar. have a gander
  5. quite posibly yeah. i never really took any notice tbh!
  6. i dunno, a lot of fords of that age had fake alloys - 5 spoke steelies with very well fitted hubcaps!
  7. ooooo look at you mr ive got fancy back doors at least the seats' weight alone helps a bit with the back end.. surprisingly chuckable cars too.
  8. as for the feshty, we ran a few '05 vans for engineers pool vans back in the day, before they all got replaced by bog level connects 🙄 the feshties were grand. nippy (ish) but with an empty boot f'kall over the rear axle could make them a bit lively on bad roads. and noisy on a long journey... bleeding eardrums after a 2hr motorway to HQ kinda noisy
  9. i still love the colour. it would look vulgar on a mk1, and weird on a mk2, but it looks class on a mk3
  10. hi, straight answer is no. the cars are built off a different chassis platform, so they are going to be very different in the construction and mounting, and the shape is going to be different too
  11. 15kph walking is faster than i average running 🤣 (about 12kph)
  12. theres a website on which you can compare the boot sizes side by side of pretty much every car on the market. its incredibly handy... and quite surprising sometimes... https://www.automobiledimension.com/car-comparison.php separately, Ryan, you could easily ha r unscrewed the top and base of that lamp and probably couldve left the seats up
  13. i dunno Ryan, the furby is old but i dont think its win 98 compatible. you may struggle to find.... drivers...
  14. Ah here lads, unless this is your racing rig, are you even really trying to make it feel more realistic? not mine
  15. if you have the maxidot, go into the vehicle status and it will tell you (along with when you start up) which bulb is showing a fault. i had mine at me intermittently for aaaages about a rear light, but none gone, and then it just went away again.
  16. https://www.volkswagenforum.co.uk/threads/exhaust-gas-temperature-sensor-3-g495-part-number-and-replacement.35810/ part number is here, dont have a layout on it though. different vehicle (T4) but gonna be the same places... https://www.vwt4forum.co.uk/threads/t5-1-p242a-exhaust-gas-temperature-sensor-circuit-bank-1-sensor-3.939313/#:~:text=Sensor 1 is the post, just after the flexible joint.
  17. 5k per uear is pretty low mileage too, so im guessing it wasnt ever really "stressed", but then you have the other argument of "not miles for a diesel" so its hard to know really current used car market is a wreck. over here we have the new car issue, but also - the big B word and the new complications around importing 2nd hand vehicles from the UK. the prices are gone as is the duty and vrt etc so less people are doing it now, so theres less second hand stock available too further pushing up prices. i bought my 2013 mk2 octy in 2019. last approx valuation i got for it 6 wks ago online pegs as the same value i paid for it nearly 3yrs ago... great, except that means all the other stuff i couldnt afford then i still cant...
  18. definitely not stuck to the side of the spare wheel well??
  19. i learned the basics of driving in my dads 1993 525i on the driveway at home in about 1997. i was 14/15... my first actual lesson was in a 1.6 civic instructors car. first insurance was on a 2000 1.0 saxo (awful in every way, even as a learner!) then did and passed my test in a 2003 1.1 Getz cdx - electric windows AND sunroof and a cd player! loved that car, was written off by my girlfriend now wifes insurance after she (deeply ironically) low speed crashed into the rear bash beam of an artic lorry full of laptops at a roundabout, on her way home from our rental to sit her driving test the following day... she had to do it in her mothers 07 corsa and failed - unsurprisingly as she had never driven that thing and everything was different - gearbox layout, control stalks backwards, light switches in different place... desperate 😞
  20. dry solder joints on the instrument cluster pcb has been an issue for some in the past, so its not unheard of, but from memory it usually took out the whole dash. that said, it may be it. or it could be the fuel level sender is dying or a short on that circuit. i dont k ow if that would affect starting though 🤔
  21. audio would be ver y good, at least we will know the type of sound properly then
  22. have you checked the brake rotors and pads for any uneven wear? if it is a bearing that wasnt changed then heres a test - it will resonate at harmonics of certain speeds. so, if its loud at 15mph, it should be loud again at 30, and 60 20 would be 40 and 80.
  23. CV joint? check the boots for any holes or signs of leaking grease.
